Hi All!
I'm hanging in there and took off another .2 lb. Moving my ticker is an every day occurance by .2 of a lb. But, I guess I'll take it any way I can get it.
It's sort of gloomy around here today but, at least it's not muddy yet!
Today, meals will be wierd. Oatmeal for dh who has a queazy tummy and I think I'll have a protein shake.
I want to do something today with pork chops in the oven but, not sure what. So, I'm going to search through some web sites and see what I can find.
I hope the rest of you have a wonderful Thursday!

Hello, Sharon :). Thank you for starting today's thread.
I'm finding my nutrition tracking software is having an effect. So far today I've had about 60% of my food, and about 3/4 of the target values for vitamins and minerals. I'm getting better at this :).

Good morning.
It is a day of a wee bit of sadness. Leaving a very fun office and a great assignment and going back to the drudgery of the national office. Today is the last day here on the frontier (at least as frontiery as the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management gets... I met a dude yesterday, works just down the hall here, who is out with Russian mobsters, confidential informants, witness intimidation, racketeering and labor unions... one of the few places in DOL where you carry a gun... I made some prints on our color laser printer for him... my role in taking the mob out of labor unions).
Any rate, I think I'll get through it. Here's something slick I did. The people here LOVE their sugary junk. I wanted to get them something nice, as a token. So, I went to a website that sells this kind of thing. And, I had them ship for delivery TOMORROW. When I'm not here. (also, the day after the weight watchers at work program). Slick. Enabling, but slick.
Morning all...I'm recovering from my carb hangover (consciously ate too many carbs yesterday). Not feeling bad physically, but didn't sleep well.
Today, back on plan.
7am 3 eggs, 2 sausage patties, 3/4 grapefruit
11am salad with chicken
2:30 8slices salami, 30 almonds
6pm double cheese burger, half bun, small salad
Pro: 156
Ecc: 43
Fat: 146
Cal: 2194

Greetings, all,
Max, you are so slick. Your soon to be ex's will think you are so thoughtful.
Mitra, glad your softwear is working out. What softwear did you purchase? I have been looking at some and considering which ones would be most helpful. I don't much like Fitday.
Sharon, congrats, .2lb is .2lbs gone, great job.
Well, off the work. New person probably feels like I did when I started here 16 months ago. Government hospital is different from the private sector.
Plan for today:
B- whey protein shake w/ hood milk, fiber, starbuck's latte(half & half)
L- chef salad w/ lc dressing, clementine,
S- lc Kroger yogurt, peach
S- lc Kroger yogurt, plain
D- ? but on plan, will edit later.
Exercise: this afternoon
Journaling: continues

I'm still sick as stink. I don't know what this is, but it is wicked. I seem to be getting worse rather than better. I've been through at least 2 boxes of tissues. I can taste a little bit today which I suppose is better than not at all. I'm also on call starting today. Call is different here than in PA-we take call for a week at a time and at least for today I can field pages from my bed. By the weekend, I will be in trouble if I can't go in.

Mary, whatever you've got sounds horrible. I hope you start to feel better soon!
Claudette, the software I'm using was free. It's CRON-o-Meter (http://spaz.ca/cronometer/). CRON stands for Calorie Restriction with Optimum Nutrition, and it was written to help people who want to reduce their calorie intake ensure that they're getting all the nutrients they need. But you can set your own target levels (max and min) for fat, protein, carbs, calories and scads of vitamins and minerals. It defaults to standard values based on your age, sex, weight and activity level. I just changed the protein, calorie and carb levels. I set it to have no target for fat (it tells me how much I've had, but doesn't track it as a percentage of a daily target). For the others I've set my target as the "minimum", because that's what displays on the summary chart. For carbs, I set it a bit higher because it includes fibre in the "front page" number.
I've found it very easy to use. Anyway, it's free, so you have nothing to lose by trying it. The only thing is that it's not an on-line system like fitday, it just lives on your computer, so it wouldn't be accessible from other places if that's important to you.

You have the mind of an evil genious, Max. I hope you never turn to crime.
Mary, sending wellness wishes your way.
Sharon, any way you can get it is good enough! ;)
Amy, good that you've got a plan.
Breakfast was a protein shake w/strawberries, lunch is a chicken/bacon salad, and dinner will be pot roast. I think I'll ask DH to pop it into the crock pot before we meet at the gym.

This day cannot be far in the future. First, I have to move to IRS. Then go into tax shelters. I'm not gonna do any crime that you can get hard time for. I want a country club prison.

Carol, that pot roast idea of yours sounds good and I do believe I have one in the freezer. I think I'll see what I can do with it for our dinner tonight.
Max, you need to change your avatar back to a little "devil"!! I know your coworkers will appreciate all the sweet stuff you ordered (because they don't know any better) and it was very thoughtful of you to arrange it for them.
We are expecting more snow here possible tonight and 90% chance tomorrow. Will this winter never end??

I want to be clear on something. They are getting an assortment of 27 truffles. For an entire office. So, it's a quick treat of luxury. But not a total blow out. Given proper dosage, could even be workable in a LC context. Or a WW winning points context.
I'm evil, but I'm not holding a gun to anyone's head.

Good bright sunny day to you all!
Holding steady on the ticker.
Food today:
Breakfast: cheese omelette, bacon, and dark chocolate
Snack: peanuts
Lunch: just finished a spinach and tomato salad with bavarian ham, turkey, and mozzarella. Might get something else...
Snack: ??
Dinner: will be out tonight, but will stay on plan.
I think I'm over my "feed my face" days. I made it through the morning without wanting to eat everything in sight. That will make the rest of the day easier.
A workout planned for the evening.

I would rather not write what i ate for breakfast...soooooooooooo i will begin with lunch:
3 chicken legs (not leg quarters, just the small leg, and they were small)
4 baby carrots raw
supper will be one sausage with (california mix frozen) steamed veggies
last year i had lost 30 lbs, then I felt thin and with vacation and so on, i ended up eating my usual, with the result that i am right back where i began,,,270 lbs. I am starting again. I remember how good I felt last year eating protein. I do find it hard financially to eat properly but i will find a way to do it.

That's great, Lucille! Do you know what your minimum protein requirement is per the PP calculations? I think I would be hungry on what you listed.
There was once a thread about PP on a budget (http://www.proteinpower.com/forum/showthread.php?t=319). It might be interesting to see if you can get some ideas that will help you.

When I think of the increase in spending on good food I remind myself that it's cheaper than the cost of health care. Consider it preventive medicine. I hope you can find a way to make it fit your budget. :)

Hola boys and girls ~ I am returning for the help I desparately need. I'm scared to hit "post quick reply" because I think my weight loss ticker will show up and show me how much weight I have GAINED since last here. I am depressed! I feel like I am losing at this battle of the bulge aka FAT! So, I'm back to get involved, learn, get motivated, feel guilty, get ideas, and hopefully lose this weight.
Thanks
Welcome back Bajabnd...our doors are always open!
Are you all sitting down??
I'll wait...

Okay, ready?
I'm going to the gym.

I found it too hard to figure out my protein cause i cant do math, so I just didnt count it. I only bother counting carbs which I can do.
when I did this PP eating last year I tried to eat at least 80 g protein but I dont know if that is enough. I am short and large boned.
I changed my meal plan for tonight, in looking over the recipes I found one for meatballs so I made meatballs and am getting ready to eat a few. I will eat them with steamed veggies.

Welcome Baja and Lucille !!
Have you tried www.fitday.com (http://www.fitday.com) to get your counts on carbs and protein, Lucille? It can be very handy to keep track of things if you like to use it and its free.
fruits veggies: grapefruit,lettuce,carrots,greenbeans,cranberries, celery
exercise: dvd workout and one hour line dancing lessons (which I am going to right now.)

Hi, guys--
Another day of no computer time. But now I'm at my college job and I have no appointments tonight--time to grade some papers and relax a bit.
Doctor's visit this afternoon--down 4 pounds this month. I'm kind of disappointed. I keep telling myself to be patient.
(Ruth to self..."be patient, it will come off, be patient, it will come off...)
On the other hand, I've now gone through both of my closets (the joy of having small bedroom closets--I get our bedroom and the guest room, DH gets the big walk-in in the den), and I can wear all of my smaller clothes (the ones I was in before I gave up on weight loss). Plus, another stack went in the "donate" pile. I just have six pounds to go before I'm on new ground, and I'm impatient. :peeved:
So, my strategy now is to avoid all carbs in the evening (my doctor's advice) and pick up the protein. I've been slacking on the protein shakes. I also need to get moving (see March challenge thread).
Anyway--how's everyone else?
Peachy--stop eating. I wondered where you were today. Get online and post BEFORE you head for the refrigerator. It will distract you.
Welcome, Lucille and Bajabnd.
Max, what was that supposed to be?

I'm just so hungry for sweets. I have eaten off plan 3 times now in the last week. And only exercised once. It's not hormonal. It's just irrational. It's definitely not going to get me where I want to go. The scale keeps going up up up. But at least I'm still weighing. When I stop I know I have a problem. I'm going to keep posting here no matter what. I hope you do not think any less of me for being so weak.

Peachy-we don't think any less of you. Sugar is an addictive substance and that's how addictions work. They are irrational. They have a saying in AA "one is too many, and a thousand is never enough." Believe me, I know. Been there, done that.

Peachy... you may want to adopt the NEAN approach. (Not Even A Nibble!) If you EVER get past the MENTAL battle, it's soooo much easier!!! **said from experience, believe me!**

I did something I think is almost sacrilegious tonight. I ate left over filet mignon that I could barely taste. It had to be eaten.
Yet another lousy eating day. 1236 calories, 42 ECC, 12 Fiber, 66 Protein. No probiotics.
Here's hoping tomorrow will be better.

Peachy, don't give up! Please keep posting. You'll get through this, YES YOU WILL! Is there anything specific we can help you with? Anything in particular that you're struggling with? Is your weakness bread, sweets, pasta, or just carbs in general? Maybe we can help you with some ideas on how to combat your temptation.
I struggled a bit to stay on plan today. Not as much as the past two days, though.
Ending the day with 31 ECC and 113g protein.

Changed my food yesterday, didn't have time for a burger, so got a salad and took it to my meeting.
Ending counts:

ecc: 38
Fat: 173

Weird that I had so much fat, but I the salami and sausage and the caesar salad I are were VERY fatty.
Also, (hanging head), no time for exercise. Was at work until 6:10, then had meeting at 7pm.
