Well, I've started the thread, but I'll leave it to someone else to find some whackiness for today :).

The only thing whacky here is that after nearly two weeks of my February counting everything, my carbs have averaged 50g, and calories 1374, and my weight is up nearly four pounds :(. When I was journalling before, in 2005, my carbs averaged 60g, calories 1590, and I went down about five pounds in five months. I can see that there were times on the graph from last time when that sort of bounce upwards happened, so I'm not making any drastic changes yet - just feeling nervous . I'm not sure if it's just a normal kind of wibble, or if things have really changed over the last three years .

Anybody got some whacky humour to cheer us up today?

Wacky Wednesday is upon us again.

My wife would be pretty unforgiving, me thinks.

Any rate, if I don't shut up now, I'm gonna miss my bus.

Later.

Cute cartoon, Max.

Janet, I don't know what to say about your average carb/calorie amounts.
Are you exercising as much as you were then? Maybe your metabolism is a bit slower since you are 3 yrs older?

From my journaling, I seem to lose when I keep my carbs at 40/day, I never have counted the calories. When I hit a pleateau,, I up my carbs for a day, that seems to "jump start" my loosing again, I am not sure why, but it works for me.

Maybe someone can better address this issue.

Today, snacks, meals planned.

Still hanging in there, but inches are still going down.

Saturday morning I got up early, put on my long johns, dressed quietly, made my lunch, grabbed the dog, slipped quietly into the garage to hook the boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour. There was snow mixed with the rain, and the wind was blowing 50 mph.

I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad throughout the day. I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. There I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, "The weather out there is terrible." ;)

My loving wife of twenty years replied, "Can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that mess?"

Good morning everyone!

Another rainy day here in FL. We never like to turn down rain when we can get it. I do hope it brings a little cooler weather b/c I don't want to have to turn the air on. I was sweating last night, which I do most nights. I'm too young for menopause!:(

Breakfast - 2 fried eggs and 3 pieces of bacon, half an orange
Lunch - I took out hamburger meat and will think of something or I have left-over pizza
Dinner - I am going to try and fry chicken using George Stella's LC recipe. I have boneless and skinless thighs. DH has been begging for my fried chicken. We will see if I can make it taste just as good.
Snacks - cheese "crackers", nuts, etc.

I made Pepper Jack "crackers" yesterday and they were a hit.

Typing estimates and cleaning house today. I am sore all over from the progressive resistance routine.

Have a great day!:D

Claudette, I think there's a few pounds of water fluctuation going on, so it will just take longer to be able to see the true picture.

With the weather here in KC, and the lack of a thermostat in my apartment, I could do with a hot flash.:D

Good morning, everyone.

We're on snow (ice, actually) day #2. And I thought my lesson plans were screwed up yesterday!

Finally, I think the scale dropped a pound or two, but I don't really trust it. I'll wait and see.

I've been reading GCBC this morning. I'm on the "Carbohydrate Hypothesis II," dealing with the role of insulin in fat metabolism. Enlightening--much of this is new even though I had a limited understanding that limiting carbs allows the fat cells to release energy.

I felt like I ate a lot yesterday. According to Fitday, 29 g carbs, 159 g fat, 125 g protein, 2062 calories. That is more fat than usual, therefore more calories. I usually land somewhee between 1500 and 1800. I'm still having issues with deciding when I need to eat and when I don't. Maybe someday I'll get it.

Well, I have more papers to grade. Now I really don't have an excuse for not getting it done.

Later . . .

And since it's Wacky Wednesday--

One day, after a man had his annual physical, the doctor came out and said, "You had a great checkup. Is there anything that you'd like to talk about or ask me?"
"Well," he said, "I was thinking about getting a vasectomy."
"That's a pretty big decision. Have you talked it over with your family?"
"Yeah, and they're in favor 15 to 2."

Hope you get things figured out Mitra...before you were eating MORE...maybe you need to increase cal/carbs??
I dunno...but I trust you know what to do, and waiting it out seems pretty good to me!

Max...don't do it!!! Speaking as a woman...DON'T DO IT!!

Woke up, had such a nice chat with GF (she's been very sick, but today is feeling better so we were able to just sit and chat). Went to dentist...great teeth, even my baby tooth is "rooted" nicely.
Went to chiropractor and got straightened out.
Got to work, received flowers (:D), but the flowers seem to be completely stuffing me up and making me almost nauseus :jawDrop::(.
Now I'm finally getting setting into work, and it's lunchtime :peeved:. Oh well...overall it's been a NON-productive, busy morning :).

7am 2 eggs, 3oz taco meat, s.cream, hoods milk, grapefruit
11am chix breast, cauliflower
2:30 celery, peanut butter
5:30pm (restaurant) salad with chick or steak and maybe some broccoli

Pro: 148
Ecc: 36
Fat: 100
Cal: 1687

Ruth, two days in a row does make one feel guilty! :D

Roads are better today and I've heard it's warmed up a bit to where salt will melt the ice, so here's hoping...

Running late today, so I brought a piece of meatloaf along for breakfast. I ended up having coffee and forgetting about breakfast. :o Lunch was a large salad with chicken, bacon, cheese, and tomato. I'll have the meatloaf as a late afternoon snack just before I go to the gym on my way home from work. Dinner will be what I pick up at the butcher tonight after that.

I've got a DS with bronchitis, and a co-worker with a terrible cold, so I'm washing my hands a lot and psyching myself.

I can't think of anything wacky to share. The boss is due back tomorrow and I'm still putting everything together for him.

It hasn't been too wacky for me today. It fact it's been great. Sun was shining on all that beautiful snow. It's spitting a little snow now.

BF: protein shake
Lunch: marinated chicken tenders and salad.

I hope everyone is having a great day. The cartoons are so funny and cute! I really have enjoyed them. Thank-you for displaying them here for us to enjoy!

My DW was having car troubles yesterday. It wouldn't start. We had an annoyed conversation about what to do. She didn't want to have AAA come and look, maybe jump the car, and then tow it to the garage if that didn't work, because the garage wasn't opened and other assorted logistics issues. So, we settled on her calling first thing today, and she would either drive it around a bunch if it started, or get a ride to work from the mechanic.

Today, I get a call at work from the Wife.

Wife: I'm at work. Do you want the good news or the bad news?
Me: Whatever makes the most narrative sense to tell me.
Wife. Good news. There's nothing wrong with the car.
Me: That's great. So what's the bad news.
Wife: Your wife is a bigger idiot than you thought. The car was out of gas.

True.

Me too, Max. It reminds me of conversations my husband and I've had about me locking my keys in the car.

Nothing too wacky over here.

A little 3rd grader who knew me when I was much thinner asked me if I was pregnant today. That's always a great feeling. I know he's just a kid -- but I hadn't been asked that in about a month so I was feeling great. Oh well. I know I had gained almost 70 pounds since then. Isn't that crazy? Well, I'm down 11. That has to be worth something.

Where's the wine?

Just thought I would update on my food for the day.

Lunch was browned spicy ground beef w/ 2 slices of American cheese. It was about a cup of meat and I didn't eat it all b/c it wasn't that good.
Snacked on cheese stick and a bite of coleslaw w/ granny apple in it. Had a protein bar w/ cup of coffee. It's an Atkins bar w/ 2g carb. Oh, also had half a Nature Valley nut bar which half would be about 6g carb.

Dinner was LC fried chicken(skinless, boneless thigh - one) and green beans (1/2 cup). The texture was different than we are used to, but it was ok. I took at least half of the breading off and just ate the chicken w/ the rest.

Water - 12 glasses

Tonight - 2 Jack & diet (haven't had them yet, but that is my regular).

Have a great night!

Oh Peachy! I did that to somebody once. :p Hey, I can remember when I WAS pregnant and people would be AFRAID to ask me.

Max, I love it. And you didn't even have to google to get it!

My dinner was meatloaf and a low-sodium V-8 on the way to the gym. It did the trick and I felt much better. (I had crashed)

Snacked later on ricotta, blueberries, crushed pecans.

Clear, dry roads on the drive home! What a difference a day makes!

Hey, Carol--

Wet roads here and it's already below freezing. Might be an interesting drive in the morning (but I hear you all are getting another storm!).

Looks like it, Ruth. Not too worried about this one, but the next one is scheduled to hit with an icy mix on Sunday. I have to travel with my band to play in a little church thirty miles away on Sunday morning and then my own church on Sunday night.

It's one thing to sit inside looking out, but another thing to HAVE to be out in it. :paranoid: The icy mixes are the worst kind, don't you think so?

Good luck in the morning!

I sure do, Carol. We have been stuck here at home for the past 3 days. Our truck hasn't moved from its parking spot. We don't think we could get it up the hill if we did get out, so we are staying put.

But today, it is supposed to warm up and hopefully it will melt enough that we can get out. My dh had said we'd go out to dinner on Valentines day so sure hope we can . I am about to need some groceries too.

I think I am really getting tired of the winter of 07-08.

Karole

Oh yes, I meant to say be really careful driving on those roads Sunday. It doesn't sound like fun to be out in that stuff at all.

I only laugh because I did the same thing last year. I was the last to drive the car; went out to start it the next day and it wouldn't start. It was close to E, but in this car (as I would soon learn), close means empty. I took the van and hubby called AAA. He decided on a whim to go to our shed and get some gas and try that. It started. :o He cancelled AAA.
