Hi Ammy, I'm doing okay too--on plan with eating, on plan with veggie/fruit servings and exercise. I am really keeping myself accountable on this for the month of February and hope all of it will turn into a habit I can't break !!
Beautiful day here , sun is out and it is in the thirties. I'll take that. It is when it is so dreary out that I hate the winter.
My dd and I are planning to go for our line dancing lesson again tonight, so that will be extra exercise. They had not been doing them for the month of Jan. while the teacher was away on vacation. But they're supposed to gear up tonight , so I'm looking forward to getting out and doing something active.
Will check with you fine folks later on today.

Awake, aware. Have to deal with the travel voucher. Again. This is the December moneys. It's now February. Yeah, government.
High spirits going into a dreaded call to technical support on the damn thing.
UPDATE: The tech support people at work wound up answering the question fairly efficiently. The solution is not terribly complicated. It, however, requires my approver to have sent back my voucher. She didn't, despite telling me yesterday that she had to do it. I could kill her.

Well, I wasn't doing badly with my goals for the month until I decided to stay up until 1:00 last night. So tonight, I plan to follow the plan--in bed by 11:30.
My appointment yesterday went well. I'm down 5 lbs. over the last three weeks. I'm just not a patient person. That has been my downfall before and I need to deal with it. I was feeling like "only five pounds," when I should be grateful for this weight loss and for being relatively healthy (considering how I've abused my body with food for most of my life).
It's a busy day today--classes, b-ball game, and then work at the college. Hope everyone else has a profitable day.

Good morning!
I think I am on track with my Valentine Challenge. I have been keeping up with my weight resistance exercises. I do want to order a recommended book New Rules of Weightlifing for Women, but money is tight and it will have to wait.
Happy news....my mom and stepfather have joined me in PPFL! My mom said she had bacon and eggs for breakfast yesterday and didn't feel hungry like she usually does after eating her normal cereal. Although now they want me to do the cooking and them come over everyday.
Breakfast was strawberry mascarapone cheese crepes, delish! I love that I can have crepes b/c I have so many great recipes for them.
I'm on my 4th glass of water for the day. I don't ever count the coffee or the water in my protein shakes, just straight water.
Lunch - planned Protein shake
Dinner - undecided, will see what everyone else is having to get ideas.
Weather is overcast and gloomy. I should have sat in the sun yesterday while it was out, but I got busy. I have to do payroll today and catch up on some end of the year things.
Have a good day all

Mitra, I just visited your photo site. What a talent you have for capturing the beautiful! I was awed by the photos. I could never, in my wildest dreams, take pictures like that. I often get my pictures back and wonder what I was taking a picture of.
I'm on my 6th glass of water today. It is hard to imagine that with all the water I am drinking that I could still get bloated for this time of the month. (sorry guys) Can you drink too much water??

Can you drink too much water??
 I think the official answer is "no", but it depends how far you are from the nearest restroom. ;)
I stayed home today with a headache. I couldn't even concentrate on a conversation! Luckily, it's backing off (Musinex probably helped) but I'm a little off-schedule. Breakfast was a piece of meatloaf and two cups of coffee and I haven't had lunch yet. Probably ricotta and berries and save the meat and veggies for dinner.
How nice about the five pound drop, Ruth!
Max, much as we hate to admit it, it's not always the Tech's fault. I had one bail me out yesterday. Don't spread it around! I have a hard time with people who say they did something, but they didn't. :peeved:

Actually yes...it's called water intoxification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication), and it can kill you...
but assuming you are a "normal individual", you would need to consumer something like 10liters in a few minutes...:jawDrop::D
When I worked in the field of Developmental Disabilities, I worked with an individual who was allergic to water, called Aquagenous urticaria (http://health.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=2506). The individual didn't have it as bad as this person...they could drink water, but it had to be controlled at all times...too much and it was like they were drunk, and OBSESSED with having more!

I wish water could get me drunk. I would save a lot of money at my little wine shop. As it is I hardly drink any water. I would say about 30 oz. a day. If you count coffee -- then I get enough. There's water in coffee. Right?
Today has been another boring day food wise Protein shake, quiche, mozz stick. Same Same. Chicken and veges for dinner. Whoopie. Maybe I should try some new recipes or something. I'm starting to get really bored.
I'm still on the quitting smoking train. Although I did slip up last night. I was just so irritated with my daughter. Sometimes the whining just makes me crazy. With quitting smoking I don't have the same patience I usually do. I need to take time outs without children every once in a while. Teaching all day and then coming home to mine is too much right now. But I'm trying.

I knew about water intoxication, but the aquagenous urticaria is a new one to me.
Hang in there Peachy! It's a hard habit to break, just don't beat yourself up for slipping up. :)
Today, today...
Breakfast: 1 HB egg, and LC oatmeal/molasses bread. It turned out like a brick yesterday; but my theory on bread baking is that most mistakes are edible. I need to work on that recipe. Also, my daily dose of dark chocolate.
Snack: almonds
Lunch: veggie burger w/Jarlsberg Swiss, green beans, blueberries w/whipped cream
Dinner will be out tonight. Probably Wendy's or McDonald's. I'm thinking Wendy's.
My copy of Good Calories, Bad Calories arrived today, so I can return the one I'm reading to the library while I'm out tonight. :)
The temps have dropped about 30 degrees since yesterday. :jawDrop: Stay warm out there, folks!

I didn't know about water intoxification or the latter. Poor little girl. I'm pretty healthy, so I don't think I will have to worry about the intoxification. Although after reading about it, I decided to forego a liquid lunch and eat left-over roast beef instead. Also eating a protein bar.
Peachy, I am right there with you on the getting bored of food options. I did that after the second week of deli meat. I don't even go to the deli anymore. Now, I am starting to try the recipes on this forum and I have George Stella's cookbook. I am also trying to adapt my recipes to PP. I am learning though because I don't know much about the different flours and their purpose.
Tresses, I have my copy of GCBC now, but haven't started reading yet. I started by looking up points I was interested in. It's going to be a slow read.
Carol, luckily I have a beeline to the bathroom!

Plenty of blame to go around here.
1- My supervisor. Everyone else I've talked to says that there's no need for her to have it the way she wants it.
2- The programmers who wrote the travel software. They've clearly never used one from a user point of view.
3- The tech. I suspect it's not much their fault because the program is bad, but, still, they put in a fix without actually fixing anything. That's shoddy.
4- Me. I am going to, from now on, measure thrice with this software and perhaps never cut. In my eagerness to do it, I made an honest mistake (did it the way everyone else would have it, rather than how my supervisor wants it). Now, I suffer.
Any rate, we're escalating it. I might have to undo the whole voucher and do it from scratch. Which might result in my flights being canceled, despite already being paid for. Yikes.

I had used up some more of my cottage cheese/mozzarella tonight, making muttar paneer (Indian peas with cheese). My husband was very happy, because he 's been asking for more veggie food, and it worked out about 11g carb, so not too bad. It was a bit low on protein, but with what I'd had for breakfast and lunch I came out OK for the day. My totals for the day are all added up and journalled. I keep the details on paper, then put the totals in a spreadsheet.
Max, your stories are making me nostalgic for the days when I used to work for a government-owned company ;).

Sorry, Max, but that made me laugh out loud. :)
Well, my daughter's riding instructor called this afternoon to cancel, so it was dinner at home. I was terribly nibblie today (a hormone thing, I suspect :o), but still managed to keep things fairly under control. I actually blew it at dinner. I sauteed some lite smoked sausage with red peppers, onions, mushrooms, celery, and spices; and made "fauxtatoes" (mashed cauliflower) with some added cream cheese. Not terribly high carb, but I simply ate. too. much.
I'm feeling very full (like I ate too much :o ) and still feel like I want to eat. I hate hormones. I will be working out soon, so at least that will keep me out of the kitchen.
Anyway, assuming I can control myself for the rest of the night, I'm ending the day with 48 ECC. Oh well. It could be worse. Much worse.

Hey, Tresses--so how is the sleep thing coming?
It's.....coming. I'm getting to bed earlier than I was, but still often close to 11:45 - 12:00. (Better than 1am!) Last night, however, I struggled to stay up to finish CSI, then fell asleep during the top of the news. I knew I was tired. Why didn't I just go to bed after CSI?!? (Why didn't I just bag CSI?) I woke up on the couch at midnite and dragged my body upstairs. :o
And you? :)

Well, I was doing well until last night. I stayed up to watch Law and Order, but my big mistake was going online afterwards. I like to play Spider and surf at the same time, and before I knew it, it was 1:00. I need to follow my self-imposed rule: Ruth can only go online if she goes upstairs at 10:00, not at 11:00.

Incredibly stupid story. By my house, in Queens, when I was 9, there was a dead end street, with these concrete filled pipes to block it off. I thought it would be neat to see if I could lift one out. Amazingly, I could. Except, I had to sit down to do it. Finally, it got all the way out, and without the hole to stabilize it I dropped it. Hip, then bounced and the other end capped my knee. Man, did that suck. Of course, I could have broken both, which would have been a lot worse. I was walking in three weeks.

OWEEOWEEOWEEOWEEOWEE. :jawDrop:
Peachy and Kimmie, I forgot to mention earlier that my first thought upon walking in the kitchen this morning was, "I'm sick of preparing food." Mind you, I love to cook, but to have to think about and prepare food for each meal, 3x a day, plus snacks, gets to me after a while. It is simply much easier to eat high carb: grab a couple of slices of bread and slap together a sandwich; grab the box of Wheat Thins and nibble; etc.
I know this is a matter of habit, and it will get easier with time. I do remember the last time I did PP, years ago, thinking that I loved the plan, but it takes more work.
But really, it shouldn't be mindless. We really ought to think about the fuel we're giving our bodies. It just takes more brainpower and creativity than I seem to have most days.

Hi everyone!
unlike many of you, I am an early bird. I go to bed early (most nights) and get up early. BORING.
I could use the time to post the first message of the morning. However, I need that morning time to read the posts from yesterday:rolleyes:.
Yesterday ...
great breakfast
morning meeting and my own bureaucratic paperwork nightmare ...
NOT as big as Max's and HOPEFULLY straightened out with one phone call ... but now my desk looks like someone emptied a file cabinet on it and there's a 10AM meeting IN my office:cool: so I have to go in and straighten up and keep my fingers crossed that another situation we had can last for 1 more day as is;)
lunch - good
left over T-bone, eaten cold (I must be missing a gene or something, I LOVE cold meat left-overs and hate re-heated)
dinner - union meeting, dinner out,
chicken fajita (great)
frozen margarita (NOT my best choice:jawDrop: but it came with a monkey and a mermaid;))
