Good morning, everyone!

I didn't get online until it was Sunday, so I started the new thread. I was completely lazy on Saturday--I guess still recovering from Christmas and my wild weekend last week with my son and grandchildren.

Amy--woohoo for you on staying on track in the face of temptation.

Sounds like everyone else is doing fine. Anette, keep working the program. It appears that you've been doing great. All of us have gone through the days where the scales don't move--then there's often a nice drop. It just takes our bodies some time to adjust.

Carol, I find that when I'm doing the baking, I don't feel like eating (but the cookies sound yummy).

Today is going to be busy--church, some shopping/cooking, bill-paying, and then church again (with music practices before and after). Of course, if I had done the shopping, cooking, and bill paying on Saturday, I wouldn't have to do it today. Oh well!

Have a great day!

I'm home again and ready to tighten up again after a somewhat relaxed approach over the two weeks we spent with my parents! I'll pick up a few bits of food for today after church, then get the fridge properly stocked up again tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to catching up with all your news :).

Glad you're back, Janet! You'll be doing a lot of reading to catch up. :)

Up and dressed, had my shake, sipping my coffee waiting for time to go to church. We are having the weirdest weather! Fog and thawing. It was 23F on Friday and by tomorrow it's supposed to be in the low 50's! Not sunny, but expecting rain for days. Very strange, even for Michigan.

Will be seeing the grandblessing today for an overnighter. Oh, and the carpenter will be stopping by to discuss the new walls and ceiling in our living room. I'm excited about the change and dreading the mess.

Yesterday's cookies are put away to age without mishap. I have two pounds of ground beef thawed. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

Have a good day!

I'm off to church, too. Had my morning shake, and my daughter wanted one too. Maybe I can set a good example for these little ones.

Good morning Fellow Protein Lovers, :D
WA State here with yet another rainy day. Gills are forming, fins are peaking out a bit today but life is great. Thanks for all you encouragement, it sure helps. Plans for today.. keep reading my book "The Pillars of the Earth" wow what a read, 1000 pages which should take me about hmmm 2 years.. lol. I just had coffee and I am fixing some faux french toast again today. I tried it yesterday and I adore it.
so here is what my food will most probably look like

Breakfast/ coffee with 2 oz half and half, 1 serv faux french toast, 2 slices bacon
lunch hotwings celery and blue cheese dressing
snack (if needed) almonds or pork rinds .. oink oink
dinner steak with mashed cauliflour and salad, sf jello with whipped cream

I made some home made beef stock and chopped up some cabbage and celery and it made the most delicious soup. I am having a cup before meals which I just love (germans love their soups). So down to the kitchen I go and fix some breakfast. Have a great Sunday to all! I am so glad I found this forum.:) blessed day!

mine, alas, didn't :( still 5 pounds above lowest wieght.

After too much indulgence while I was away, the scales showed 122 this morning . I hope some of that is water and will go quickly, but that will still leave me quite a few pounds above the 112 that I weighed through most of 2006 :(. This morning's weight is about five pounds more than before Christmas.

Luckily my husband is ready to get serious again, so he won't be introducing temptations!

Today I had:
B - Salami and cheese (I hadn't been shopping, so there wasn't much in the house!), cappuccino with 1/4 cup milk
L - Smoked salmon & scrambled egg (I'd picked up a few essentials by then)
D - (Planned) Slow cooked lamb with broccoli spears. Maybe some kind of sauce on the broccoli - hollandaise?

Greetings from Colorado SPrings where it was about 55 yesterday and today we woke up to a couple inches of snow!

We have been enjoying our visit a great deal and yesterday Gabe and my son put in two new lighting fixtures in my son's kitchen. It took a long time and we laughed a lot over the frustration---how many light bulbs? :D

Off to a movie now and more work on the house, so good to be here with my oldest son, enjoying it, but already don't want to leave tomorrow! Will check in later tonight or tomorrow!

thinking of you, back to the basics, we had steak, asparagus last night, this AM we had omelets wtih egg, cheese, bacon and ham.

Hi, Y'all,
Peachy, gongrats on the scale showing a loss

Janet, don't worry, you will get it down again. Hang in there.

Relief, you will get back to where you were, also.

I went to Sunday School & church today, but got up late, so it was a Starbuck's coffee w/splash of half and half for breakfast.

I am having a relaxing day at home, still unpacking boxes.

Weather here is just like Texas can be, high today of 76. Ugh, in the middle of "winter". No matter, going walking again with dh and dog.
Yesterday, she went and stood near her leash.

Here's the planned menu:
B: Starbuck's coffee w/ half and half
S: Boar's head slice (no fillers) olive loaf)( I love it)
L: baked chicken stuffed with Asiago cheese, sliced ham, steamed brocoli, w/ sprinkle shredded cheese, home made sour coleslaw w/ apple cider vinegar/olive oil/few sour pickle slices
S: turkey, deli or develed egg slices, dill pickle
D: breakfast w/ bacon, lc toast, sf jelly

Have a great Sunday, all.

afternoon everyone!

Yesterday got off to a bad start with dh waking me and getting me out of the house sans coffee. While I caffeined up pretty quickly, it just threw my whole day off.

We went to the boat show and walked and walked and climbed some stairs, good.

I'm still out of it today. Woke with a headache, that is finally gone, but I'm still "foggy".

In retrospect, I think I threw "off" my week by having some diet cream soda. (Some, yeah, I drank all but 12 oz from a 2 liter bottle). Triggered my cravings, which were fine until then.
So, I'm going to try and stay away from artificial sweeteners, too.

On the plan and it's going to be easier after tomorrow. Groceries are coming! The Groceries are coming! Today, a movie, a large dose of cheddar, an iced coffee (two packs splenda, 2 ounce half and half, many shakes of cinnamon), and pork tenderloin is in the oven. Life's okay. Tomorrow, it will be very good. Then, around Wednesday, my mail order stuff is coming and life will be grand. Yea Me.

PS- Aliens v. Predator Requiem might be the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Certainly the dumbest of the last year.

Hooray!

Peachy, hooray for your weight drop, too!

Well, my day was nothing like planned, schedule-wise. I had two brats for lunch. The ground beef turned into spaghetti sauce, which is what I had for early supper. I got hungry and instead of fixing myself something nice, I grabbed for the peanuts and ate too many.

Checking in... took the son back to college today so pretty much spent the afternoon/early evening on the road. On track with food so far this weekend.

I didn't get everything done I wanted to do yesterday (like groceries!), but I made some progress. Was totally worn out (and very sore) after dealing with the tree.

Life should be getting back to "normal" this week... or as close to normal as life gets with 2 teenaged girls! A visit to the gym is definitely planned for tomorrow and hopefully will get that back on track this week.

Max, I've obviously missed a lot. I take it you're not at "home" in No. VA these days?

Hi to everyone else too!

Hey, gang...sometimes the fact that Sundays don't always go as planned are one of the reasons I like them. ;) I spent a lot of time catching up on sleep to prep my body for the chemo/rad ahead this week.

- cinnamon hazelnut mocha protein shake, and then a bit later a cup of coffee with half and half and cinnamon

- seafood chowder (clams, tuna, celery, 1/4 cup shredded potatoes, a slice of bacon and half and half to thin to consistency) and two parmesan crisps

- ricotta with a teaspoon of molasses and a few strawberries this afternoon and another coffee

-two scrambled eggs with mushrooms and an oz. of shredded swiss cheese, three peanut butter balls

I notice that a lot of people eat pretty lightly in the a.m., and each meal seems to increase in size until dinner is pretty hefty. I have always preferred to have my largest meal as either a late breakfast of lunch, and my lightest meal late in the day, and on PP, that's really easy to do. I get about half of my daily protein minimum in my breakfast shake, and usually am at my protein goal by the end of lunch, so that anything else that day is just a bonus. I think I sleep better, too...but mileage may vary on that one!

Gaelen--

Best wishes as you go through this week of treatments. I'll be thinking of and praying for you.

Thanks for the thoughts on eating early in the day vs. later in the day. I am one who tends to eat later--this is something I would like to change. I have noticed as I get older that I sleep better if I haven't eaten anything heavy near bedtime. Besides, it just seems logical that you don't want to eat just before your body shuts down for the day.

On my own I tend to eat three more or less equal sized meals, but more often the evening meal is bigger because that's the one that's more of a social thing. I find I sleep less well if I've eaten either too much or too little in the evening.

I made it through the day, although it got tough.
I had to travel from Milwaukee to St Paul, and I was CAR SICK for about 2 hours. I NEVER get car sick. I didn't actually vomit, but I think I would have felt better if I had! It was VERY foggy, like .25 of a mile visibility and I was reading so I didn't watch the road and get scared (no I wasn't driving) and I kept feeling more nauseous. We stopped at a gas station to give me some are and use the restroom, and we walked in and they store people were all sitting around SMOKING. I was very pale and held on to the magazine rack so I didn't lose-it on everyone!
HORRIBLE.

Anyway, I drove after that but was so INCREDIBLY tired. We drove 1/2 hr then my GF went into an outlet mall and I slept in the car for an hour. I felt MUCH better, and after another hour I actually wanted to eat.

So, had lunch around 3:30 and drove home the rest of the way, feeling better and in much less fog. I didn't eat anything else for the day...just in case.

But YUCK, what a day.

7am 2eggs, cheese, bacon, mushroom, some orange
1pm cheddarworst-no bun
3:30 1cup broccoli cheddar soup, chick/bacon honey mustard salad
