View Full Version : Do you really think exercise is the answer to all chronic pain problems?

One of the first therapies that I had for pain was physical therapy. Work hardening therapy was miraculous. Each time I went for therapy, a short time later, I would move the wrong way and another part of my body was injured. Eventually, I quit trying therapy. For all who say exercise and therapy are the answer, you are extremely wrong. It has been proven that exercise is not for all diseases and does make some people's diseases worsen.

Almost all.
Movement or activity is the #1 prescription for pain as you age.

Curious as to who this question is targetted at. I don't recall anyone on here suggesting what you suggest is common belief here. Sorry for your pain. Clearly, it wasn't a solution for you. As a healthy person without chronic pain, exercise is a great solution for me.

Odd that this should have been posted by someone with this bio:
Biography: good looking
Location: ohio
Interests: reading books
Occupation: physiotherapist
Perhaps my spam antennae were dulled by dog show dust when I was approving new members last night.

Perhaps my spam antennae were dulled by dog show dust when I was approving new members last night. ;)That struck me when I saw the post this morning, Gaelen - but without seeing the post as well as the bio, I think you'd have to have super-sensitive antennae :).

Do you mean that ... David is a 1 good looking, 2 physiotherapist 3 who reads but 4 doesn't like/or has been disappointed by Physiotherapy?
Unfortunately I don't know if we have any other physiotherapists here, but out of the remaining 3, most of us would get a passing score (2/3) and some would hit 100% (3/3). ;)
I'm assuming that we are all good looking and read.

hmmm...well, I'd put my looks in the 'doesn't scare small children' category, and I read...but I haven't been disappointed (completely) in PT. Temporarily incapacitated, absolutely, but never disappointed...at least, not yet.

the best parts:
1) it's a first post
2) there's no question, just a screed without a context
3) the 2nd sentence makes no sense to me
4) may not be spam but smells a lot like troll (given only what we know so far)

and then there's the signature line (which you can only see if you open the public profile; must not be automatically attaching to posts.)
Yep, the antennae were definitely dusty last night. It's back to the moderation queue, I think.
