It began several hours ago and ends at midnight. What are you doing to make this day FANTASTIC? (http://www.rixane.com/shots/fantastic-ocean-3d-screensaver-640-7.jpg)

What effort or planning is required for what reward?

IT'S SNOWING!!! IT'S SNOWING!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!

Course it won't stick, but I don't care...IT'S SNOWING!!!!

What am I going to do today to make it fantastic? I'm going to go to the podiatrist. My foot is better (I couldn't get in for three weeks) but it's something that comes and goes, so I'm going anyway.
I'm going to take the evening off. I haven't had a moment to myself (or to share with my GF) all week, and I'm busy all day tomorrow, so I'm not going anywhere tonight. We might rake for an hour, but we ENJOY doing that together so that will be okay.
I'm going to plan my meals for the weekend. I don't usually get around to this, then have to make spur-of-the-moment decisions, and I'm not good with those, so I'm going to stop-think-plan!

I am packing to go visit our grandblessings 4 hours south of us. That will be fantastic. Esspecially if they are allowed to stay up to see us when we arrive..so The sooner we leave after G'man arrives home, the better. I am excited.
DOing the plan I made for food today and doing the excersize will bring reward for me today.
I ate eggs and coffee today
I have venison thawed to make something for lunch...don't know what yet.Maybe a venison meatloaf we can also eat on the way tonight.
We leave around 3 pm.

Amy ... that is great! Can we all apply it???

This is a long weekend (Rememberence Day) for many people. My wife is having a friend over tonight and I think she is staying for the weekend. A son we don't get to see often is coming for dinner with his room mate on Saturday evening so it will be food and games.
We have a large salmon for tonight along with broccoli, etc., and berries in yogurt. Saturday is a lamb roast, vegetable spaghetti, and a similar dessert. Sunday will be teaching and giving a talk on family at church.
Monday is a whole day of just what I want to do and I'll get some Protein Cookies baked up as well as a major workout.

In our family we do a name draw now except for grandchildren who always get something. I have my son-in-law's name and a $50.00 limit. The kids proposed this a few years ago (all grown up) and it works out easier and a lot of fun putting your efforts into a few things like this gift which will be 3 or 4 things.
Costco has mini picture frames for $17.00 and I am loading a few up (SIL and wife will get one) with pics as Christmas gifts. I found Digital Drum Sticks for $19.00 and he is a part time drummer. They have a wireless connection to the mixer/volume control and it plugs into any audio jack. He will be able to add percussion to what he is listening to.
He loves peanut butter and there is a hard to find Nut Butter at 1/ECC/Tbs. that tastes better than any PB I have tasted with a very slight touch of honey and a different mix of nuts, butter and flaxseed.

Well I'll be ... I'm way under my target already.;) I just need to recalibrate my BF Analyzer.:D

Just reading up more on Jack Lalanne this morning concerning exercise and effort.

"Two hours is an ego thing with me to see how long I can do it," says Mr. LaLanne. "If you exercise for 25 to 30 minutes four to five days a week you can do a lot. It's your health account. The more you put in the more you'll be able to take out."

"It's a pain in the gluties," says Mr. LaLanne of working out. "But you gotta do it. Dying is easy, living is tough. I hate working out. Hate it. But I like the results."

"People make excuses and they're lying to themselves. Thirty or 40 minutes two to three times a week is nothing considering you're taking care of the most priceless possession you have."

Great thoughts, all.

Love the cartoon, Ammy.
How I envy you. Snow, how cool is that? It is going to be a high of 77 today here.:(

Randy, I had read Jack LaLaine hated the exericise, but loved the way he looked. I'll have to check the sites out.

I am making this day fantastic by eating on PP, exericising after work at the gym, cardio/weights.
As Veterans Day, a national holliday, is Monday, I am going to enjoy a long weekend with Monday off.

DH and I will be going to the first "seasonal" party Saturday night related to hubby's work, but I will be prepared for whatever comes food wise.
As it is cocktail formal, my grey suit looks fantastic, which is such a motivator.

Have a great Friday, all.

Amy,

I love it! And unfortunately it is probably true. Size inflation always surprises me. The size 10s and 12s I'm wearing now are a lot bigger than the size 10s I wore then.

IT'S SNOWING!!! IT'S SNOWING!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!
So happy for you....:p Of course you know the reason you didn't have snow earlier is that I prayed a bubble over the midwest because I knew we'd be driving in it.:lol:;) We had perfect weather! :D

We've been getting sleet in Michigan, but nothing has stuck down here yet. Farther north it has.

Great cartoon, btw. I believe it, too.

Randy, thanks for the quotes.

My day is already fantastic because all the students and teachers have a day off and I'm just bopping around here, listening to old-timey music and getting paperwork done. I had a zero-carb, high protein lunch and I'm having a good day.

Hope you all are, too.

UGh..... I just came back from the dentist..... 2 fillings later- I am aching... They had to redue one filling - it was a back upper tooth where they used the bracket thingy..... Anyway... My head hurts, I'm cold, my teeth and jaw ache... it's like a cross between bad pins and needles, tooth ache and a sprained ankle....

I'm in pain and cranky...

Thanks for reading/listening....

OH Feelix...hope it heals quickly!!!

I just got back from the podiatrist.
I got Plantar Fascitis 15yrs ago (when I was 20), and with orthotics that is not usually a problem. My arch has now completely fallen, I have NO arch left.

However, now I have Morton's Neuroma (http://www.podiatrychannel.com/mortonneuroma/) and Hallux Limitus (http://www.myfootshop.com/detail.asp?Condition=Hallux+Limitus)...all in the same foot!!

The Hallux Limitus means surgery, but not yet. I should have another 5 years before that. He said I'll know it's time because I find myself limiting my activites because it hurts too much.
That happens now, but only on the "pain" cycle. THe pain cycle lasts about 2 weeks, then I'm good for 5-6 months.

So...why do I have these problems...because I got to 320lbs and remained there for many years. My Dr and I agreed that I'm probably prone to these issues and would have had them eventually anyway, however, they were brought on this early in my life because of my extreme weight. And the fact that even when I was 320lbs, I was still a very active person.
Wore out my body too soon...but if I didn't let my weight stop me then, I'm not letting my breaking-down body stop me now!!

I made today a pretty fantastic day - but nothing special;)

At lunch time, I took out a pack of 2 rib eye steaks so that dh would see them and know what to cook.

He made fresh cauliflower with that - so perfect:D
and I've already cleaned the kitchen and caught up with a couple of people I needed to call.

Lat night, while dh was fishing, I did my "week-end" cleaning - bathrooms, kitchen floor, etc.
so, the week-end is free and number one on the list is SLEEPING!
