1/4 cup coleslaw, raspberry tea ,2 grapes. This made my throat feel raw.

Yogurt later after the ibuprofen maybe takes some of the pain away form trying to eat dinner.

I finially got an appointment. I got over the strep my first time by myself in about a week and a half.. I did not know I would still be contageous for a month and could give it back to myself and to other people.. Weird. The doc told me I had to take antibiotics. I also have to eat organic unsweetened whole milk yogurt three times a day. So far I got one pill to go down. My throat does not want things in there.

Hello all! I'm new to this forum, and am finding it very helpful. Nice to know there are folks out there with the same problem. Here's my eating plan for today:

Breakfast: 1 scrambled egg, 1 sausage patty
Lunch: 1/2 c. homemade chicken salad w/mayo & celery, caprese salad w/olive oil (tomatoes, mozzarella & basil)
Snack: 4 squares Lindt 70% cocoa extra-fine dark chocolate (11 ECC)
Dinner: Grilled chicken breast, salad w/lettuce, tomato & avocado, and steamed broccoli
Late Snack: String cheese, 1/2 apple

I've been OK with getting my water intake since I drink so much of it normally.

ladydoc, I LOVE that chocolate...I have to really watch myself, though. You wouldn't think a person would be able to overdue it with something that rich, but I HAVE done it!

Randy What's a Harveys shake?

I had thought that Harvey's might have been an international chain but they may be just Canadian. There are a flame broiled hamburger franchise that have a thick chocolate shake that they are well known for.
By adding some Xanthum gum to my shake it is thick like that. I used to add more water as well and end up with a 12-14 oz. shake in the morning, but prefer a thicker texture so add only 4 oz. of water and a few ice cubes to whatever goes into it.

Randy, how much do you add for one shake? I've got xanthan gum, but I've never actually used it. Does it add any funky flavor?

I keep the Xanthum gum in a small flour shaker and I do two "sprinkles". It definitely adds body to teh shake but if you leave it for an hour it gets even thicker so I usually have it within 10 minutes of making it.
I use the Xanthum gum for making puddings as well although it does not deliver the starchy pudding texture which I miss.
