This fellow (http://anthropik.com/) has been doing a "paleo" diet for a month and keeping pretty meticulous Excel spreadsheets of his exercise/meals. Fascinating stuff.
He's lost 30 pounds in a month. Looks like he's doing some kind of calorie cycling.
Apparently he's doing something called the Foundation Diet. (http://foundationdiet.com/)

I have thought of trying Paleo and Neanderthin both but haven't pursued it very much. It's an interestin concept though. Judy

I find that site a bit annoying to navigate - any chance you could narrow down the link?

I think I missed something. That website is rather confusing, and I didn't see anything on a menu plan, or whatever. Guess I just got bogged down trying to navigate.

I think either Paleo or Neanderthin eats most of their foods raw

If memory serves, 'Neanderthin' (the book by Ray Audette) advocates mainly raw consumption.
"Paleo" is broader style of eating, with one defining characteristic across approaches being that plant-origin foods which can't be digested or metabolized when raw are not included.

Well he sort of does but he concedes that at least if you shop at the supermarket or are not confident about the source of your food (ie 99% of us!), you shouldn't eat raw meat. fish or eggs ... and his sample diet is all cooked or dried (jerky and pemmican). He says that the nutrient loss though cooking 'meat' is more than offset by eating vegetables and fruit.
