Good Morning all. I am up, worked out, at my desk, committed to getting things done today. Have not been accomplishing lately. It's a cycle. The less I get done, the less good I feel about it. The worse I feel, the less I get done. So, let's suggest I have been getting so little done that I might be at rock bottom. I'm sure I could feel worse, but I don't think I could accomplish any less. Have a 10AM meeting with the supervisor to talk about what we're up to. I have a plan. That's good enough.
Also, gonna restart my work timer, to make sure I spend my time better. It's on the computer (actually on my thumb drive), so it's ready to go, nice and easy. Any rate, I'm off to breakfast.
Rock your day.
I'm here with you Max!
It's raining here...really makes me LACK motivation for ANYTHING when it's rainy.
BUT...my meals are planned and packed, and my workday is planned. It's also planned that I'm going to ask to leave early. My GF is out of town for work so I'm going to go home and have time to myself...I NEVER get time to myself at home (she RARELY travels for work, and when she does I'm usually swamped myself and don't get home until bedtime) so this time I'm going to try and enjoy it-even if I end up cleaning the entire evening! I do have the movie Because I Said So at home that I'd like to watch, so maybe I'll squeeze that in as well.
Struggled working out yesterday, didn't now I was tired, but my muscles were just not able to put-forth any effort! It was weird. I wanted to do 30min on the bike, but reduced it to 20. I did it though...and that is what is important!

It's a cycle. The less I get done, the less good I feel about it. The worse I feel, the less I get done.
Good morning, Max. I totally understand that statement. It is a downward spiral that can only be broken by me making an extra effort to do something that I can feel is an accomplishment. I had a surprise when my boss gave me back a portion of a job I had done a few years ago. Knowing that routine inside and out gave me a chance to get off the treadmill and relax a bit. It's also a paperwork job that has a beginning and an end and I can feel accomplished when I'm caught up. Win-win!
Hi, Amy! I don't want to be nosy, but have you had a physical exam recently where they checked your bloodwork? Unexplained tiredness can be a signal. If it's just from darned hard work, or even from a mood dip, that's understandable. I can get depressed and lose energy.
I had coffee w/cream and some roast beef/cream cheese rollups for a late breakfast and I'm good to go. I coughed most of the night, so I stayed in bed this morning to catch up. My guys are under the weather as well, but it seems that each of us have a different manifestation of the same virus.
Off to work now, and I'll catch up with you all later... :)

"The less I get done, the less good I feel about it."
I feel the same and when there is less to do you get into the habit of doing less. With cutbacks on spending we are finding it hard to fill a day with work. The old quote "to earn your bread by the sweat of your brow" sinks to a new low and you've picked up some habits in the meantime.:(
The Positive part ...
I leave today after work and we drive up to the North end of Algonquin Park, sleep in the van or on the beach, get our permit when the Rangers open up in the morning and should be on the water by 8:30am. Everything is packed but the meat, cheese and butter. Tomorrows meals will be in the canoes or on portages until we reach Lake Manitou (8-10 hours).
I'll be back for Monday.
envy envy envy...randy....I envy you SOOOO much.. HAve a blast . take pics .. e-mail me some.
Ammy..more protien right after you work out?? I get really tired when I work out hard and don't drink enough water during the day, don't get enough potasium, or don't eat enough protien. I feel washed out.
Carol, I hope you are better soon.It lasted me a week. My husband two days(as ussual).
Max..I feel good if I can REMEMBER what I have to do. I do feel great when I accomplish something and have something to show for it.
I think that's why I like quilting. A quilt lights up a whole room when it is specially made and I design it myself. It makes me smile every time I walk in.
I am in the midst of making princess gowns for the grandaughters. Mermaid,Cinderella, sleeping beauty(booty) Belle, Snow white. I bought all the satin in various colors and the tulle. I want them to be special.
I am on crutches now. My foot is so swollen after the shots. The pain last night was incredible. I could not step down. Biking lasted 10 minutes. Codine did not work. I took a sleeping pill to put myself out.
I have to work tomorrow.I wonder today if I will be able to. We'll see.
I am not sure what to expect from this. My foot does not look horrible, it just feels like a balloon. I want to be done with it. FRUSTRATED!

Hi all. Hawk, hope you get relief very soon.
The gals in our family are going to try something different for a change. We are tired of doing the same old thing all the time so we are going to go take dance lessons. Line dancing. I have 2 left feet but I am up for anything different. I wanted to take clogging but no one else was up for that. (I probably am not either, truth to tell) This will be good exercize tho and we all can use that.
A friend is also going to join us, she is recently widowed and needs to have things to do and look forward to, during the week, and one of my daughters and her husband have just separated so she is very much down in the dumps. Exercise will be great for both of them. The rest of us just need to get moving.

I am on an off day!
I had a moment and had Hot wings and cheese fries. NOW it was extremely tasty! But I'm wondering if it was worth it as I sit with a tummy ache. ...
So that's 17/18 days for me.

Max and Carol and everyone else - I thought I was the only one with the "The Less I get done, the less good I feel about it" Some days it is hard just going through the motions.
What works for me, whether I am motivated or not, is to CLEAN MY DESK.
Each piece of paper that I sort into do NOW, do LATER, FILE, or Garbage helps clear my mind.
Then, I MAKE myself do at least ONE of the things in the DO NOW pile.
I recovered well (she wrote optimistically) from my bad, bad, Sunday.
Monday was a YES and Today will be, too.
I've exercised, and got a lot done at work. Had no car, and no ride, and took the bus half way and walked the other half. Actually more like bus ride 1/3, walk 2/3.
Was feeling like cooking, dd called and said she was running late, would I leave something out for her, so, I'm surprising her by making her a vegan bean soup. (I haven't been able to convince her to follow PP:() It lets me feel creative, but I am not interested in eating it, because I am making it to make her life easier.
She has wanted to go back to being vegan, but is struggling with eating well and her work/school schedule. Mondays and Thursdays she is out of the house from 6:30 AM until 12:30 AM. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays she is out from about 8:30 - 9:00 AM until 6 or 8 PM. Leaving Saturday and Sunday for doing school work, laundry, preparing her meals, going out, sleeping.
So, at least with the soup, I'll know she is getting a little protein.
I'm off to power clean my home - DH is at a meeting, in prep for company tomorrow night.

I'm in with a yes! I did take a taste of cookie dough but it fit in my ECC.
I wore crocs and took tylenol/codine all day. I survived the day. I also cleaned two rooms and drew up blue prints for some of the building of the porch. Husband liked the ideas..so they will be implemented.
Carol...I actually have my physical on Oct 1st...so I will have bloodwork then.
Hawk...I eat supper after working out, so I do get protein in, but I wonder if I should "protein-up" BEFORE the work out...something more than a shake (no fat in the shakes). What do you think of salami and cheese before a workout?? Protein and fat? Or should I have some carbs...Maybe salami and carrots??
Yes for me today. I went home around 11 with a sinus headache and nausea when bending over or moving. Sat on my butt and finished "Road to Wellville" (book Eades recommended for a good laugh) until it was time to eat supper (grilled a juicy steak...mmmmm).
I think this was probably my very first "sick day" where I didn't plan some kind of carb-binge. I had recently bought saltines (all houses should have saltines, right?) and they stared at me all day (I can binge on saltines with butter ALL DAY) but I didn't even open the box. Instead I called my GF who is out of town for work and listed all the things I was THINKING about binging on. Since I told her, I knew she would look to see if I ate them (or atleast I feared she would) and so I could not binge on them!! Isn't that sneaky/good of me?? Sabatoge my own binge???
Anyway...it worked. No binge, stayed within my carb limits and didn't not gain (or lose:() weight!

Way to go, Amy! I hope you'll feel better soon.
I didn't really think about until you mentioned it, but I didn't let being sick this week send me to the comfort foods. That's almost phenomenal! I really think my comfort food list has changed, too, over the years. Wow, that's a milestone for me!
