"Be absolutely determined to enjoy what you do".

Going into the weekend, we all have different plans. Some will have to work in the workplace, others at home, others some leisure time to be with friends or family, some combination! Sometimes I think, I wait for the weekend and really in the past few months have a really started to enjoy the weekend. It always took me a day to unwind from work (Saturday) and then on Sunday I was already getting ready to go back to it.

Weekends are a great time to fill up that gas tank and get some additional rest, get organized at home, get together with friends or family, do something special stealing away 30 minutes for yourself. But the weekend can quickly slip out of your fingers if you are not determined and have the mindset to enjoy the time.

We just really need the time to rejuvenate our minds and our bodies. What are you weekend plans? How are you going to plan to enjoy the weekend? What one thing are you looking forward to, or can plan into your weekend schedule that even if for a few minutes, is absolutely yours to enjoy?

Billie, what a great TGIF quote.
I'm afraid this weekend is scheduled for a long rest and recovery...but I'll be online off and on and trying to get myself back in order after treatment, one step at a time.

Rest, protein shakes, and lots of water for this girl. ;)

Most weekends I sleep in an extra hour or so, and spend a lot more time relaxing than usual. Whenever I try and get DH to get things done on the weekend, it always ends up frustrating me. He's just not a "get at it" kind of guy, so it always takes literally hours to get him started, and always seems to take more time than I would have scheduled for a task. Unfortunately, some things around the house I just can't do by myself, and some things I refuse to do - they're his job and I'm not going to let him get out of doing them just because I know I could do it faster myself! Anyway, I'm getting off topic, but most weekends really are relaxing for me...

This weekend, though, I'm actually going to have an incredibly busy weekend starting today. DH and I have an unscheduled trip to take up to Chicago to pick up a cabinet I had ordered and was expecting to go to WI to pick up in June. The company (husband and wife operation) called and the wife is going to be in Chicago today for a dentist appt, and wanted to know if I'd like to pick it up early. Since this cabinet is intended for my office, and getting it now will allow me to unpack some boxes now instead of waiting until June, of course I said yes! So we're going to head up tonight, get the cabinet, then go see a Chicago band that my husband loves. Probably be up until 2 or 3 am, stay at his parents, and then drive home tomorrow after a short visit. Then the rest of the weekend I'll be busy unpacking/organizing into my new cabinet!

While I'll be busy all weekend, I'm really looking forward to this. For some reason, organizing my beads is relaxing for me, and organizing them into a new cabinet should be fun as well as relaxing! ;) But today is going to be a very long day...

Oh, Mary, that sounds wonderful! I LOVE to organize my beads; just looking at them and going through them gives me pleasure. That's about the only thing I enjoy organizing... :o

I'd love to know more about your cabinet. I have tons of little plastic containers, but my seed beads are overflowing the little boxes where I store my tubes.

Sounds like quite the adventure.

I got a head start on my weekend because my school closed down for two additional days (spring break). Yesterday I was able to take my 82-year-old mother to the doctor and we did lunch. Today I took myself to a different doctor. When I mentioned the stiffness of age, he said that luckily, it was reversible. Talk about a second chance! I'm hobbling because my "ski knee" is acting up and other muscles are rebelling. I've got new exercises to do now. Yay! He also ordered x-rays. The rest of the weekend looks like housework and grandson. Both of them need my attention.

Hey, Stevie, I saw the neatest way to store beads with a magnetic board using screw-top jars with clear windows in the top. It doubles as an art piece, even. The board was white, as were the jars, and the jewel tones of the beads provided the color. I love beads, too.
