After much to-ing and fro-ing, I am hereby making a commitment to stay on and enjoy the PP Plan.

I feel a little exposed making the commitment public yet this is the right place. My instinct is to take this a week at a time… or at maybe assess and celebrate each week. Do you fellow pp folks have ideas about that?

I will concentrate on (1) making, choosing and enjoying great pp meals and (2) daily uptime activity -walking, weights, stretching OR dancing. (3) I will have one glass of wine (not the two or three I sometimes do) with my evening meal if I choose. (Wine seems to encourage nibbling for me.)

(4) I will put a star on my calendar each day and (5) notice how great I feel --not only from accomplishing my daily commitment but also from how I know pp meals and exercise zings my energy.

Tonight I go to a big party at a BBQ joint. But I can happily have the chicken and a bit of coleslaw and leave it at that.

Suggestions and encouragement are very welcome. I am happy to give those back, too!

Best to all,
Atka

Welcome atkamip (http://www.proteinpower.com/forum/member.php?u=266),

Good luck and I'm sure you will find much support here,

Atka welcome!!! What a great start. Making a commitment to good health--well you just can't go wrong. You may have good days and great days and then not so good, that is when you come here and find support and find that all things are possible and one bad day or meal does not alife mean.

It is about life after all, sticking in for the long haul doing it right! congratulations to you!

The first day, oops, no star on the calendar. Did not get any exercise in, had a piece of bread with the BBQ and two glasses of wine. All the other meals and meal parts were fine.

Today is a new day. I am going for a star.

Anyone else?

So far so good, Atka. I have avoided nibbling today and had my adequate protein and plenty of water. You mentioned wine in conjunction with the urge to nibble; for me it's not good. Neither is sorbitol or mannitol, fyi. I am so much more content when I don't have to deal with constant cravings that it's worth avoiding the trigger foods. I find it hard to resist a craving when it presents itself. Good luck for the rest of the day!

Good going, Carol! And, yes, avoiding the triggers -or rather chosing something else instead- is incredibly helpful.
Thanks for the comment from you all.
No star for me today. But I am getting closer and am feeling mey energy headed for stardom.

Atka - Just think how good that first star is going to feel :D! Sometimes our struggles help us fully appreciate our successes ;).
