This seems wrong to me. This article says that for the first couple of hours after waking, that is your highest BP reading in the 24 hour cycle. I thought that BP was lowest during sleep and upon waking, it would be highest on into the day, after you got up and around and doing things. The first two hours upon waking are the highest? News to me.

I have been told the same thing by a doctor and nurse practioner. I can't recall the exact wording used, but it has something to do with enzymes the body produces during the sleep cycle. I was asking about it as I noticed that was happening to me in April (when I had some really high bp mesurements requiring 2 trips to the er.)
It just floored me to wake up after a night of rest with a high reading. Now I have my bp under a bit of control but it still is running in the 145/85 range upon arising , with readings of 125/72 or even lower later on in the day.
