Hi everyone! My name is Kelly and I am a new PP follower, former Atkins follower. One thing that really drew me this PP is that you are allowed fruit. I love fruit and was upset that on induction Atkins did not allow you to have any, this made Atkins very difficult for me, which lead to my falling off of the wagon on a regular basis. I am running out tomorrow to buy one of the books either The Protein Power LifePlan or The 30-Day Low Carb Diet Solution (not sure which one is best).
I am currently on the lowcarber forum http://forum.lowcarber.org
and have heard alot about this website.

It has been commented on that at 5'5 136lbs is a good weight, but it has been since March that I have been trying to lose 10 stubborn annoying lbs.

Good Luck to everyone with their weight loss and health goals

Welcome, Kelly :). The 30-Day book is very simple: just a brief outline of the rationale behind the plan, and then some tables of suitable protein and carb servings, and the menus - I think it's 3 weeks of weight loss and one sllightly higher carb.

PPLP has much more information - so if you're the sort of person that likes to know why it works, it would be a better book for you. It also has information on various specific topics, such as iron, magnesium, leaky gut, fats, etc.

My first choice would be PPLP. I'd only get the 30 Day book if you really don't want to know any details, or if you particularly like having a full set of menus written for you (there are some sample menus in PPLP).

I actually got both books. I love PPLP it is such an easy read. I love the rationale behind the LC diet, and why high carb-low fat diets are bad. It isn't just a good diet, it is an excellent way of living. I have been on the strict diet, w/o cheating, for 3 days now and am looking foward to a healthy lifestyle.

If you enjoy reading about nutrition, you'll find lots to keep you occupied, when you've finished PPLP, in Dr Mike's blog (http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/).

Keep us posted on your progress.
