Salmon croquets without crackers

Salmon croquets that you make with canned salmon and saltine crackers. You make patties and pan fry them in a little oil. Any idea what you could replace the saltine crackers with? I assume that holds it together?

Or, in lieu of... if you have another recipe for something like this made with salmon, advise.
