Good morning all!
I am up and already at work. No, I don't normally work Sunday's but I don't want to take a vacation day this coming Friday (when I am going to the BWCA) so I'm working today instead.

I was suppose to have a honey tree day yesterday, but decided I didn't need it...then I blew it already today. Just went for the easy breakfast and just "accidentally" ordered things that aren't good for me...fool that I am.

Doesn't mean I have to blow the rest of the day, right?

The gym's are open today, so if I can get my work down, I'll head over there before I head home for the afternoon.

Hope y'all jump back on plan...we can do this...really we can!!

LOL...oh AMY! LOL....yah, I know HOW that happens from time to time. Well, let's just make sure this is the exception and not the rule, RIGHT!? lol

Happy working! I'll bet it's nice and quiet for you there today, eh? lol

I'm pretty darn pleased about something. I FEEL like I'm losing...and that's a mighty darn good feeling! I feel like 'something' has changed with my body..and I FEEL like my body is going to respond. ALL good feelings for stubborn ol me...I tell ya! :D

All I know is that I have to do what I can to keep encouraging these feelings and changes...whether it show it's face in pounds on the scale or not....you just know when your losing.

I think...on Tues....due to Lisa AND Amy encouraging me...that I'll head back to the gym. Nothing formal...nothing in stone...but my mind is saying that its "time" to add that back in. I waffle on this exercise business because, well, it bores me...but I know it's important. BUT I'm not going to be rigid about it. That's my compromise. lol :o :D  :o :D

Amy, I hate that, when "quick" breakfasts have a few of the things we shouldn't eat and we are tempted.

Missy, glad you are feeling good about losing weight. My scale has decided to start moving again since I am relaxing more each day. I also decided to like myself, even at my current weight and not wince when I look in the mirror.

Today, it is still pouring here, so it will be indoor exercises and cleaning out my closet so I will have some room again.

I will post results later.

P.S. Where are Max and Michelle? Haven't seen them post lately.

Good morning, everybody!

Amy, you are absolutely right about not blowing the rest of the day. Don't look back. Start over the moment you come to your senses. Sometimes it's not about the food, but it has to do with comfort or some emotional issue. Just make a note that you're going to avoid that situation next time--and do it. It will be a good day! :)

Missy, good for you on restarting the exercise! Thanks for the tips on the casserole.

Claudette, too bad you didn't get your ride! We got quite a bit of rain too, and the greens up here are to die for. I'm also expecting it will hatch a horde of mosquitoes, which make it harder to enjoy the outdoors.

I think liking ourselves the way we are is a very important issue. It means ditching the perfection complex, and that is hard for me. Luckily, I have a lot of support from my husband. He likes me the way I am, midriff buldge and all, so I'm learning. I would like a waist, though! I guess you could say I'm a recovering perfectionist.

Max is in Italy, but I'm not sure about Michelle. Missy would know...

Nope...Missy don't know Carol. I don't know where Michelle is or how she's doing. Sorry. I worry about her...but, we all have to do this the way we have to do it, right? She knows how to find us if she needs us, right?!

Claudette..I got your PM notice in my email...but...I don't have a PM here from you...weird.

Here's the "recipe" Carol and I are talking about:

1 large head of cauliflower, diced up like chunked hash brown potatoes.
1 can of cream of chicken
1 cup or sour cream
Cheddar cheese..I never know how much I use, cause well, for me, more cheese the better! lol Probably 2 cups worth?
1 medium onion, chopped

I dice up the cauliflower and microwave with a tad bit of water for 3 or 4 minutes to start it becoming tender. Drain off water.

Mix together the cream of chicken, sour cream, cheese, and onion. Toss in cauliflower. Spread in greased 9 X 13 pan.

Additional topping...but WARNING additional carbs too! YOU CAN SKIP THIS PART! no...you SHOULD skip THIS part!!!! :o

1/2 stick of butter
2 cups worth of crushed corn flakes

Top casserole with that topping and bake for 1 hr, 350.

I don't have the counts on it yet though. BUT in comparison to the REAL potatoes, this is "doable"...and tasty I might add!

I thought it needed some salt too...but to each his own. I don't salt "extra" until I put it on my own plate, usually!

Just a quick visit. It's rained all day here, but we've managed to keep ourselves and our young visitors entertained. I've just put a humongous piece of beef in the oven for our dinner :D.

Enjoy your weekend :).

I don't salt the potato version because there is so much salt in the soup and the cheese, so we'll probably be okay. I also don't use the cornflakes but everybody likes it well browned. My recipe calls for a stick of butter, too. The soup is the carb problem, but that can be worked out, I'm sure.

I really think Michelle said something about being busy for a few days, but I woud have to go back and read old posts to be certain. After a couple of days, I lose track of who said what. It's not old age, though, it must be stress. ;)

Janet, you have fun. I'm glad they turned out to be not-picky eaters! :)

I left work and now we're digging new garden areas in the yard. We have brussel sprouts, beans and peas that MUST get planted this weekend.

Digging out sod, placing it elsewhere, pulling weeds and tilling...yep, I call that exercise!!

Missy,
That is strange about the email.

Thanks for the recipe, though. Sounds delish, I might improvise, but it it turns out great, I will let you know. Never fear, no cornflakes will go on the top!

I am going to visit an elderly aunt and uncle tomarrow and am bringing food, actually lunch, so I am going to make the cauliflower casserole.

Will check in later....

Hi everyone!

Yes so far for today!

We got up relatively early and walked. Man, do I feel it today! My muscles were screaming:eek: .

Then breakfast - word to the wise...don't let me out of the house without coffee:cool:

Yard work today. Weeding(from the cracks of our cement and around the edges of our fence and sweeping and grooming devil dog.

I am exhausted and we have a party tonight. Only good choices, as I did not gain anything after what I had yesterday and don't want to tomorrow.

Missy, your recipe does sound yummy and I copied it down so I can do it this next week. I have every thing but the cr. of chick soup so as soon as I acquire that I will be in business.

Our company has already left after a very nice visit. She had to get back to her mothers house as she promised her she would be there tomorrow to help her do something , I forget what.

We all went out for steaks last night and they were great. Then today, after breakfast, we took a 3 1/2 hour ride and it was very nice too. Saw a turkey (course the horses saw them first !) but that is the only wildlife we saw. Sometimes we see a deer or two.

I have stayed on track this weekend with my eating, just haven't destressed nor exercised as I should. I still have time for a yes today tho so will go get busy on that right now. Take care.

Don't use too many there Miss Amy! That's where ALOT of the carbs are! 23 grams PER cup...and it's not that necessary...so you could go without! I DO hope you liked them? I can't wait to hear how others liked them? Granted, the potato version is to DIE for...lol :o  literally! :suspicious: :paranoid:

I'm here to report my YES for today! :D

Today is a "yes" in all areas for me.

I have the cauliflower steamed and the ingrediants ready for tomarrow.
I know it will be delish.

Yes, for me too. I had to have a protein shake to make the protein amt. but I got it in.

I'm trying to remember what I ate today, but I think I did okay. No exercise, though, so I have to take a NO.

Amy, I concur with Missy. There's no point in putting corn flakes on the casserole; you're just carbing it up for no good reason. :suspicious:

Agnes, Karole, Claudette and Missy--Yay for the YESSES!

Heading for bed, late, but I'm going to sleep in tomorrow! :D

Too many carbs on the dish for me...cream of chicken soup has alot! I have made it the "regular" way with sour cream, cheese, 1 can of soup and 1 package of hash brown potatos..I top mine with canned onion rings crushed.
I think getting in touch with your body and "knowing" it is really important...so when you said you feel you are losing Missy, you probably are!
The tape measure is your best friend I think...muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room...lol. I weigh once a month and measure once a week. Works so far, it keeps the focus off of the scale on how I feel.
I am the person who thinks exercise is walking to the bathroom...lol...I did discover yard work and I enjoy mowing stuff down. This is a great stress buster for me.
I am starting a series of "stretching" so who knows where that will lead?
Hope you all have a great Mon!

Adaz..yeah, this is only 'on occassion' that I plan to make this dish...that or figure out a lower carb solution to the cream of chicken soup ingredient?

I don't measure myself....but tend to "feel" the clothes differently as my guide. I just LOVE that feeling! :D
