Happy Birthday, Doctari.
http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/13/13_10_8.gif

Good morning, everyone else :).

I hope you're all going to be making good choices today :D.

I may not be around for a chunk of the day, because we have someone round to work that will probably have the power on and off. I'll be checking up later, though, so be good ;).

Morning, everyone!

Happy Birthday, Doctari:D !

So far, so wonderful!
Terrific, filling breakfast.

Pants that were snug on me two Sundays ago fit superbly this morning:D .
Now, I just have to re-try on the dress I wore 2 Saturdays ago, make sure it still also fits so I know I have something to wear for tomorrow night's fancy dance;) .

Good Morning ladies.....

Happy Birthday Doctari....Hope you have a great one :)

I think I missed yesterday....I would have like to have missed yesterday completely....I had a rotten afternoon at work yesterday :( and then when I picked up my daughter at school was informed that the school is closing and won't be open next year. This after I've already paid the tuition deposit for next year and the application fee for financial aid.

If I could just pick the winning lotto numbers I wouldn't have to worry so much about stupid things like rent.....GAS.....food (okay, it would take a while for me to starve to death, but you get the idea)

I did manage to stay completely on plan yesterday :D actually it was weird because I never really had the urge to eat anything I shouldn't and actually had to force myself to eat supper last night because I didn't really want to.

Hope today is better all around.
Have a good one.
Michelle

Good morning, Ladies. Happy birthday to the Doc. Value Cheats Doc. Value Cheats! (I might have to explain that again, since I don't think Doc was here the first go round).

At work, having done my intervals. Funny thing here. I really like lifting weights. I think. This is the first week where I've been healthy and at home where I haven't lifted anything, and I feel great about it. Part could be that the Intervals are good, but really, by the time I get to the last sprint on the plan, I'm hating it and thinking it's a grind. I think I will explore this further in the users forum.

For people who care about ANTM (I dunno if anyone but me watches it), I'm unhappy with the result, will go on with my life, and think that both Renee (the smart meanie) and Natasha (the mail order bride) got jacked.

For people who care about Idol, Jordin is gonna win the whole thing, but Blake will sell more albums. In fact, Melinda will sell more albums then Jordin too.

Finally, for people who only care about Protein Power and have properly killed their televisions (or at least properly shun the evil that is talent show/reality TV), have an A+ day. Rock it like rock stars.

Just a quick hello to every one and Happy Birthday to Doctari !!

Going to have to pack up for our trip to Ky. for a grandson's high school graduation . I am still washing clothes from our trail ride-- whew so much has been going on since we've been back.

1. Monday: trip to doctor for myself.
2. Tuesday: youngest daughter went to emergency room with chest pains while I was at the staff picnic/inservice. I couldn't get phone service and didn't know til late in day.
3. Tuesday: great grandson was born a little early due to fetal distress. They had to do an emergency C- section . Saw him yesterday, he is healty and beautiful. Mom is doing great. Thank God.
4. Wednesday: went to doc with youngest daughter , no heart attack but possible warning since she smokes and takes hormones (not a good combo at all.) We got her a prescription for a new med to help cease smoking. She had been on the nicotine patches and doc said those are notorious for causing chest pains. Hope that was all it was. May have been a esopageal spasm. They really don't know for sure. At least No heart attack.
5. Thursday: got to get ready for trip, lots to do.

See, I told you I was busy. I also said this was going to be just a quick hello. I just can't be trusted.:D :D

Wow Karole, that is a LOT going on!!

I just noticed that I only have TEN days on plan this month, and it's the 17th, which means I need to get BUSY!

Today should be a smooth day. I have work, then workout, then MN orchestra concert, so I'll be too busy to eat...but I have to make it through the WEEKEND  which is ALWAYS a struggle for me. I NEED to get these 20 days on plan this month...I NEED TO!!! NO, I WANT to!! And as long as I have the desire, I can do anything...right?

Happy B-day Doc! ENJOY!

Max, when you say you are "hating it", does that mean your tired - or just bored?

I hate intervals too...Only when I put on a pair of pants that were snug a few weeks ago and I have to belt them..That causes me to rethink it.

A diamond is a chunk of coal made good under pressure...Max.. Let the pressure work on you. Good training.

hey every one.Got my intervals in. Sweat pouring down like rain. Got my PP foods in the fridge ready to transfer to a cooler. Got your day planned out?? Does it include excersize?? Are you eating for your body or your tongue? Be good to yourselves. You are worth it.

Happy birthday Doctari. I hope this year is good to you.

I'm sitting here thinking about Jon this morning. He's probably camped on an airstrip in Kuait, eating who knows what. I can do intervals and stay on plan. It's alot easier than what he is going through.Life is a piece of cake here (sorry about the carbage)

Agnes - you know things are going the right way when all your clothes are getting bigger :D.

Michelle - sorry things are conspiring against you :(. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that lotto win ;). Well done for staying on plan in spite of it all.

Hello, Missy :).

Max - we've killed our TV (we just have a DVD player, but I think I know far more about reality TV from reading this board then I ever did from watching TV .

Karole  what a week! I'm glad everyone's OK!

Amy - you still have time to get those 20 days in :D.

Hawk - you might hate those intervals, but they're really transforming your body!

The repair man came to look at our sump pump, decided that the installation made access too difficult and left. Since he was sent by the company that installed it last year, I wasn't too impressed . Then the sun came out so I took my new camera for a walk.

Happy birthday, Doctari! :D

Michelle, won't they give you your deposit back?

Congratulations on the pants, Agnes! Hope the dress isn't too baggy! ;)

Hawk, good luck at your meeting today! What a load to carry! Please let me know how it turned out, okay?

Hullo, everybody else!

I got to bed on time last night. I'm re-thinking that bedtime once again. If I count it the next day, I know ahead of time when I've failed for the day and I might not try as hard on the other aspects. If I leave it for last, a good day will be more incentive to go to bed on time. For the rest of the month, I'm going to count the bedtime of the day, which means I will probably have to report it the next morning. I do that half the time anyway. Always thinking, I am!

So far, so good Annie!

I went to a LC Italian restaurant for lunch.
You get an ENORMOUS amount of food (it's enough for two meals) and according to them it's only 9ECC. I worry that the sauce is not low carb, but they say the MEAL is..??? I ordered the LC meatloaf. It was 3 thick slices of meatloaf which feels like just MEAT with EGG in the center.
With the entree, you get a "small" chicken ceasar salad with it (it's enough for a meal)...no croutons. Hmm, I bet the carbage is not counted on the salad-therefore the meatloaf alone is 9ECC?
But since I only ate 2 of 3 slices of meatloaf and 1/2 the ceasar salad, I'm saying it's 13ECC total. Think I'm crazy? Think I'm underestimating??

Missy
05-17-2007, 01:04 PM
No. :D Just enjoy Amy!

I'm in the process of making a LC fresh strawberry pie! :D I'm using Kevin P's pie crust recipe...and my asked my mother for her recipe for strawberry pie that she brought out yesterday..and am going to switch out the regular jello with sugar free jello, fresh strawberries and splenda! She puts a thin layer of cream cheese on the bottom of the pie crust to stop the wet stuff from soaking in the crust.

I've never made Kevin P's crust before...but thus far it seems like it's doing pretty good. I baked off the "scraps" just to give it a pre taste testing. I'm taking the pie this weekend camping with my inlaws. I hope it turns out nice. I'd like to show them...and ME that something desserty can be low carb, legal, and delicious.

I could probably whip up some fresh whipped cream too! :D

Hello everyone!

Still snowed under with tons of things to do ... something just about every night or event during the day.

I'm staying close to plan, but haven't been able to actually be "on" it (few too many carbs, but only by around 10). Need to push more water too. I have been getting more sleep though. I have to. With everything I need to do, I need my sleep to get through it.

Today sure feels like a Friday around here (that's at work). So, I'll have another Friday tomorrow. Except I'll make a better choice at lunch than today. I'm actually really close to being on plan. Just need to keep dinner to minimum carb and a bit more protein. And then go for a long walk. hmmm

It COULD happen! :p  :o :)

We had some delicious strawberries from the fruit & veg market near where we stayed in Italy - sigh - shame the ones from the local supermarket aren't as good.

I've begun to hate out of season fruit! Too many carbs to waste on sub-par taste:mad: .

So, the last few months, I decided I'd only buy what was in season, relatively locally grown.

Amy, I go to buy the organic, but just can't bring myself to spend THAT much money.

I'm better than on plan, so far.
Lunch, I sauteed two small frozen chicken breasts with some salt, pepper, and rosemary. Chopped it up over some romaine, tablespoon of ranch.

Got in 2 extra waters today and walking and other exercise done. DH is cooking dinner. I was in the mood for beef, he's making sloppy joes.

Then, after dinner, I think I'll shower and wash my hair and set it again in the scrunchy rollers and let it dry over night for our "Evening Out" tomorrow night. Did not try on the dress.

Missy, your pie sounds like a real winner. Let us know how your in-laws liked it.

Michelle, what a bummer on the school. That is a shame.

I'm with every one who loves home grown strawberries !! Yum yum

I have a yes today Mitra. Did real well on getting things done for the trip tomorrow.(everyone stayed healthy too) Also got in two walks ---this a.m. just me and my audio book for 40 min. and this evening dh and I walked 25 min. plus we sat out in the sun for 15 min. and got some D. Good relaxing day. Protein was 125 and ecc 27. Got in the water and supps too.

I'll try to check in from the kids computers in Ky if we have a free minute to do so. If not I will be back Mon. Take care everyone have a great weekend.

The meeting went well. I said the truth and also would accept to excuses. I held the line and I will continue to do so. I would not allow my kids to get by with excusing bad behavior or blaming others or circumstances for shoddy work. I refused to accept "god docs" explainations and showed him where he was making excuses. I think I solved a major headache for the office staff. We will keep him responsible for his job. He wants me to fill out presciptions for things I am not trained to do. It only takes him a minute to do it. I will fill out the name/weight/age stuff, he will fill out his stuff. He will also write names of patients on any piece of paper HE adds to the charts. He is rediculous and I told him so. He will add a page to the progress notes from his office and then come out and hand us the chart and yell at us for not putting the patients name at the top. We never touched the page or saw it. It came from HIS office. He said he cannot find the name(1st excuse) or read the name (2nd excuse).. it is on a typed page at the front of the chart fixed to the chart in the same spot of every chart. I showed him several. He's just a jerk. It's such a stupid thing...but he comes out 20 times a day and yells about it. It is so rediculous.
I just had it up to HERE!!! There were alot of other issues...all like that one. The three of us women work like clock work when he is not there. He just comes in and treats everyone like crap and expects us to lick his shoes....BWAAAA HAAA HAAAA!!!! One day he said he would like to POP the secretary (age 62 and been there for 20 years).(To her face) I was standing there and I stepped between them and told him I expected never to hear that out of him again. He began to giggle that he was only joking.

Of course the secretary could not leave it alone and stated that I was her body guard and could mop the floor with him. ***sigh**

Thanks folks....actually things are looking pretty good....man I have wonderful parents.....they went to the other Catholic school Thursday, that we'd like her to attend, and got all the paper work, I stayed up late to fill it all out, and they will pick it up today and take it back to the school, pay her registration fee and then hopefully all will be well. I had toyed with the idea of moving her this year to DR anyway simply because they have better, cheaper daycare, but had decided at the last minute not to (because I didn't want to have to go through the whole registration and moving process :D ), now I don't have a choice and I'm totally fine with her being in the new school.....they could have given a little more notice though. And yes, I should be getting her registration fee from HT back.

Work was better and I'm holding out hope that they will send us home in the next month or so to work remotely. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Things will improve significantly if and when that happens. The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

Hawk...they are not GOD, they only think they are ;)

Strawberry fans.....I have a recipe for strawberry pie that uses a meringue crust and fresh strawberries with whipped cream.....it's the best I've ever had.
Can't wait for the fruit trees to start producing in the yard, and the tomato and pepper plants look great so far.....I love summer!!!!

I hope you're right...cause it's SO good, and if the sauce is the only thing causing carbs, then I'm making that place a WEEKLY meal!
Did I mention I got it all for $5.95??? (of course, downtown we pay 7.3% tax at restuarants - we have a stupid ugly boring stadium to build so all downtown purchases have to pay for it :suspicious:  ).

Did I mention I got a YES today?? Makes for 11 days on plan this month!

When my neighbors have me taken away for laying on my belly on the lawn, it will be your fault! :paranoid:

Usually our garden's full of dandelions, but, perversely, when I had a new macro lens to play with, there wasn't one to be found . So I had to do my grovelling in a public park. It didn't actually involve lying on my belly . The thing I did notice was that, having cut my carbs more for the last few days, after squatting down for a while to take a photo, I'd feel a bit lightheaded when I stood up - I must have dropped my bp a bit. (I caved and bought the 60 mm f2.8 macro :o - but there aren't any more lenses on my wish list at the moment :). )

gitfiddle
05-19-2007, 07:55 AM
:) Oddly enough, my wish list has just added a new macro lens. My macro is on my 70-300 zoom, which means I have to be back quite a way from the subject. It was a bit windy last night, but it seemed the pictures weren't as sharp as they could be. That's a good reason, right?

I found one lone dandelion, but it was in the shade of a tree, so I couldn't use it. I did go around the yard, though. I added a couple of new pictures to the end of the flower album.
