Morning folks! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thought I'd share this with you today. It applies to so much more than this WOE and such, but can be applied to that as well. :)

TODAY I BID GOODBYE TO THE PAST

I take advantage of this day to free myself from the bondage of unhealthy patterns I have learned. I release the past, knowing that its events and experiences have served the purpose, even at the most difficult moments.

I dwell in the present. I cannot escape the past, but I do not carry it with me as I move through recovery. I do not let old habits and emotions from the past color my life today.

Today I will not dwll on the past. I free myself to face this new day with a positive attitude and constructive thoughts.

The past is over, the now is new, fresh and limitless. I welcome it with joyous expectancy.

I'm taking DD1 with me to work today. She's going to be a "file clerk" for a few days this week, then DD2 gets her turn. Also have to call her allergist to find out if she's getting a shot today or not as they never called me on Friday like they were supposed to. :(

Think Happy Thoughts Today!

Good Morning Becca and a great way to begin the day...and the workweek.

 Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Janet, Happy Birthday to you :) (I sing well, don't ya think?)

Hope everyone had a great weekend, another "holiday" is behind us....we shouldn't have anything to worry about now until May 28th. I figured it out...There is a food related "holiday" every month except for March, June and August. However: Spring Break in March can pose some problems if you go somewhere, I'm not sure that Flag Day in June is a big eat fest, and unless I'm missing something~August is slim too. Definately have to start working on my revised summer barbeque menus, although not thinking much about barbequeing today with it being snowy and burr cold outside.

The day is well planned and on plan....hoping to stay strong and in control all day.
Don't think there will be any sunshine to walk in today, likely have to walk inside at lunch~don't like that at well~but whatever works, right?

Hope everyone has a great day.

uggg... I woke up today with a fuzzy head. I had a one inch slice of homade apple pie...my sister makes it like I do. Can't resist..but the wheat and the sugar just give me a headache. I had the usual ham and lamb and salad. I skipped all the other carbs..even my won ton shells that I bake in muffin tins till crisp and then take out fill with cooked italian sausage mixed with chopped black olives, shredded cheese and ranch dressing and then nuke for 1 minute..They go like hotcakes.
No chocolate cake..no lemon squares.. no potatoes or corn casserole,or mac and cheese,or noodles...not worth it.

It's funny how I can tell today that I ate sugar yesterday. Shades of all the headaches I had for years... I had no idea it was wheat and sugar.

I feel so good in the morning now..I can't imagine what it used to be like..pain is like that..

Janet..Have a happy Birthday today. Thanks for all you do.

Everyone else..have a good day..

I hope it stops snowing for a minute!
It's spring for goodness sakes..All my tulips are all wilty and the peonies are bent over...I hope it did not wreck them all.

What are your dreams? Do you dream of having a healthier body ? A better looking one?? How can you put those dreams into reality?

One way is by setting goals. Goal setting will help you take a step at a time. These challenges are steps..Planning your steps, writing a list of goals, planning your food for the week, then planning for the day will help you meet your goals.

If the mornings are harried..planning the night before and getting everything ready for the next day helps.Wokout clothes ready..food in tupperware and ready for work... menu ready for the evening meal..Schedule time for yourself to work out. You are worth it. If you do it first thing in the morning, then you will be ready for your day and cannot use the excuse that you are too tired when you get home. I find that too many things get in the way if I don't work out first thing in the morning.

It is snowing again. Maybe I should pack my snow shoes...

Quick check in...
I'm THRILLED my family didn't have any kind of Easter celebration, therefore no food issues...however, I got quite sick yesterday on my 4hr drive home. I had to keep stopping, it was horrible.
I've decided to take today day of work. I don't know what's wrong, I just know that yesterday my innerds were NOT right, so I'm going to take it easy today until I know I'm better.
I FEEL fine today (I haven't eaten anything yet), so it's probably something I ate...wonder what it could have been???

Have a great day everybody!

So, couple of quotables for you all today:

Think like a man of action.
Act like a man of thought.

If you excuse the gender bias, it's pretty good. Act with thought, and think with action in mind. I'm working on it. Definitely act like I think, but I think like I think a lot too. Working on the action focus.

Vision is not enough;
it must be combined with venture.
It is not enough to stare up the steps;
we must step up the stairs.

Not bad for something translated. Let's make the effort today to take the steps up the stairs. To add the venture to our visions.

Speaking of vision, I got it in the mail recently. I am struggling for pants. A lot of my pants are sized with a 4 as the first digit of the waist measurement. Gladly, 3 is the correct number now. The only pants I own with a 3# measurement in the waist are:

a pair of black khakis
2 pairs of very distressed jeansSo, I took my measures, and Macy's had a one day sale. I bought a pair of navy blue pants for work which I'm wearing right now. They fit wonderfully. I got a pair of fashion jeans from DKNY, which might be a little long in the leg, despite me measuring my inseam. I like em, but think I'm gonna get em tailored at the cuff (I am currently walking on the left heel of them). Very high waist, which is both weird on man jeans and inconvenient, since spare tire stubbornly refuses to leave. But, NTL, they are cool, so I will work them.

Lastly, I bought something that I didn't quite realize what it was. Hugo Boss BLACK light cord jean Dark Beige. In the picture, they looked like black jeans with some brown, like they were super saturated brown jeans. Oh yeah, no mention that they were cords. At any rate, they came, they are indeed beige, BLACK is a Boss collection label (as opposed to ORANGE, another label). The picture was of the black ones that they sold out of, so didn't display as a an available color.

They fit. Tightly. But, they are awesome. And I got them for >60% off. So, the vision is this: I will fit in them like the model in the picture. Hopefully by May 20/21, the day I pack for Italy. The vision is like this: Me, walking around Rome, or Milan, wearing my Boss cord jeans with my cheap sneakers, maybe an ironic T-shirt, new hair cut, and looking fabulous. Now, to climb the stairs instead of staring up the steps.

Rock on.

Enjoy your DAY!!! :D

MAX!!!!! I'm SO PLEASED to hear about your pants! ...okay, let me rephrase that or you'll call me a perv! lol I'm SOOOOO PLEASED to hear about your new size and your "need" for owning a smaller size! GOOD! Great vision Max..and I KNOW you'll get there and make it happen!

I ended up having a terrificly interesting holiday on some emotional personal level that I didn't expect. Bonded with my inlaws in a good way...and got to see things in a new light. I won't explain...too complex...but interesting none the less. Got to know my own brother in a new light as well. And...the bottom line is...THIS is what it's all about really...and as I mature, I'm becoming good at recognizing these things and making the most out of them.

I'm feeling really REALLY GOOD about alot. Mostly, I'm feeling good about where MY head is and has always been.

So Becca....your post about the Past....well, it's an EXTRA good one...(as they always are)...but this weekend, I got to view my past relationships in a new and interesting light. I'll never forget my past...and the things that happened...but I'm firmly in control of just how much I allow anyone else have a say! My future in positive...and my future is for ME to guide. If you toxic or you turn toxic towards me YOUR OUT!

Sorry for the introspection that only means something to me.....:o It's just that, I might be "quiet" on here with you guys...but trust me ALOT of wonderful "head" work is getting done and I'm in a very VERY good place!!! You all are just the place I get to turn too allow me to track it! THANK you all for being my friends and my soft place to fall too! It's just terrific!

I've learned...I can enjoy being healthy, focused and on plan...and I can fully enjoy being bad...and quickly turn it around to doing it properly once again and being OKAY with myself accrossed the board! This is NO small accomplishment! I'm in charge! and I'm doing this long term...and I'm going to get where I want to go...regardless of the effort!

I'm in IT to WIN IT! :D

(I'll be copying and pasting this to my journal...sorry for the double post!)

Hi!

Quick Post. I have been incredilby busy, but mostly good. (Not so much on Easter, but I'm okay.) Mostly good, though!

Busy day and night too. My Dad came to take care of the boys so I could go to my workout at the Y!!!!!! And, we have small group tonight, so I probably won't be back to post anything until tomorrow!

Have thought about everyone, though. Missy, I've been MOSTLY good. Hope that counts.

"See" you all tomorrow!

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. It started off cloudy, but by mid-morning the sun was shining, so I took my husband out for a walk. He bought me a new camera for my birthday (a compact one - he knows I'm still contemplating which DSLR I finally get). So here are some photos (http://www.danam.co.uk/photos/Birthday%20Walk/content/index.html) from this morning's outing.

Becca, thanks for the thoughts about the past. It's good to have a reminder to let the past stay in its place and take full advantage of the present.

Michelle, your singing is impeccable ;).

Hawk, I hope your snow stops soon, too. It's so good that you've identified the foods that cause problems for you - you know when you're taking a risk, and you know how to get back afterwards .

Amy, hope you feel better soon.

Max, at the moment most of my visions centre on dressing up and wandering round Rome, too ;). Unfortunately, I know that whatever I do, I will always look scruffy alongside the natives. Oh well, I won't let that spoil my holiday :D.

Missy, how lovely to hear about the positive way you feel, and how it works through to your relationships with your family.

Lizi, are you feeling better now?

Claudette, good to hear you're back on top of things today :).

Pel, thanks.

Ms GC, thanks for dropping in - enjoy your day.

OH MITRA!!!!! HOW BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I JUST WANT TO STEP INTO YOUR WORLD DEAR! :D :D :D You are certainly talented! I mean...of course...the beauty is certainly SCREAMING to be noticed! lol :D I love it!
Tell you husband what a good job he did giving you that, so you could share with US! The gift that keeps on giving!!!! :D

Misz gee....yep.."mostly" counts when a HOLIDAY plops it's self in the middle of your two week "induction"...;) I'm truely SUCH a softy..:o AS LONG AS you promise me to keep it up as good as you've been for the rest of the time? Yes???

Claudette! GOOD I'm glad you did too! :D

Mitra....strange thing to recognize the evolution of my stress in life...it began with family and is ending in family....so that's why this is so important of an issue for me to realise. Undue stress is what contributed to my personal weight and emotional issue...and now, after straightening out myself and giving myself the time and space to do so...it's rewarding to see those relationships adjust to ME instead of me to them.

Happy Birthday Janet!!!

My weekend report - Saturday was a yes, Sunday was a no. I didn't overdo on Sunday and if I were in maintenance, it would probably been a yes, but there were potatoes, rolls, a scrumptious dessert and then homemade peanut butter eggs. Not much of any but a sampling of all.

Back on track today.

Oh, and I should check in, I suppose. We had a little sun today, but I was unable to take advantage of it. I'm not giving up, though. I plan to keep that on my list. I made it though the holiday without any unplanned forays into carbland.

Yes - protein
Yes - ecc
Yes - water
Yes - exercise
No - sun (and my chances are gone for today! :( )

Good goin' Max. I'm thrilled for you! :)

Missy, I love your new thoughtful attitude! I know the devil is still lurking there, though. Never think you're fooling me!

Hope all of you sickies feel better soon!

Hello. I have another quick moment for today. (DH is off to get the baby-sitter while I discipline the oldest - he has a few chores to do!!!)

Anyway. Today was mostly okay. I got caught up on 5 chocolate eggs. But I stopped at 5. ;) Other than that I have been good.

Protein and Ecc - No, but it WILL be a YES for tomorrow

Excercise -- YES. I had the BEST workout today. 15 minutes on the elliptical. 10 minutes - running on the treadmill. Strength training circuit. It was AWESOME. i can't believe I miss it sooooooo much.

Water - yup. I'll have it all done by the end of my meeting tonight.

And sun, well, there wasn't any amongst the snowflakes. It is April, isn't it????

Looking forward to really catching up tomorrow!

Have a good evening, I'm off again.

PS - Missy, I'll be back to my "induction" and great behavior tomorrow, I promise. (I'm looking forward to it!)

It was a good day....Not an EXCELLENT day, but it was very good.
I was on plan all day....except....I did cave to the temptation of 2 small black jellybeans this afternoon...but that was IT.

I'm good now that I'm home. I usually do better here, not always, but usually.

The sun DID shine here today. I took my lunch walk outside, it was wonderful and warm too. Looks like another storm moving in overnight but today was GREAT!!!

Have a good night....morning is just around the corner.

Bonnie, thank you for the birthday wishes. It sounds as if you handled the holiday well :).

Carol, it's a Leica D-Lux 3 (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0609/06091408leicadlux3.asp). Very Cute, and just the thing to stick in my pocket when we go to Rome :D. Well done resisting all the holiday carbage. It's a shame the sun isn't being more cooperative with our efforts ;).

Ms GQ. Good to hear such an enthusiastic exercise report - Shadow would be proud :). I hope you enjoyed your evening.

Hawk, do you still wear your Donald Duck T-shirts to warn your family when your hormone levels get dangerous ;)?

Michelle, thanks for the report. I like the EXCELLENT ones best, though ;) -

Becca, sorry you're still feeling so rough :(.
