After a great start last year February I'm back to the condtion I started. Last week I started PP again and I hope I can stick with it. Hate to admit failure but it was entirely my own fault.

As I finished my chicken and green salad, I thought to myself lets get back with the PPF. I should have stayed more active on this board. I need the support.

Hi there, Please don't be ashamed, everyone has setbacks. I have been on PP for 4 months now and have not lost any weight but my blood pressure and blood sugar have both come down. Please get the Eades Low Carb Comfort Cookbook as it gives you broader food options and a higher chance of staying on PP. You're back on track and I for one will cheer you on. I have never posted on a site before but I think it does help. Keep us posted.

DJK - Welcome back. I too fell off the PP wagon and needed to get back on. The support on this board is awesome ... they'll help you stick with it. I find that re-reading the PP book is the first step to get you motivated to start up again. Good luck - we're all with you!!

DJK,
I am so glad I picked this thread to read tonight. I almost changed my mind again about posting until I saw your honesty. I too feel the sting of shame, but I do have hope. We should never feel ashamed. I have resolved to "get back on the horse again" and ride it to success this time. I have been doing low carb on and off for more years than I like to think about and for the life of me couldn't figure out why I kept harming myself with my food choices. I think part of my problem is obsession and compulsion. I finally threw the scale away yesterday morning because I was driving myself insane. I will simply have to weigh myself at the gym--maybe that will get me there.

Hang in there -- I definitely plan to.

DJK and Purespirit - There is no shame as long as you use it as a learning experience and not an excuse to stay off plan ;). Welcome back to the board - just let us know how we can help!

Thanks everone for the warm welcome back.

I will post my two week results Friday when I weight in. I think I'm starting off better and I'm conscious of a few pitfalls that I need to avoid. Surgar cravings are gone and my apitite is subdued right now. This is the "easy time" which I remember from last year. It lasted for a few weeks. Im sure as I adjust to my new metabolism I will start eating a bit more. Still try to get ar least 130 g of protien only from meat and cheese but its a challenge. Last year I started eating nuts and beans along with some low carb ice cream to get my protien up it worked but i over did it and it took me entirely off my plan after a few months.

Purespirit - maybe we can encourage each other. I took the batteries out of my scale. It wont stop you if your determined but it is another step you need to take. Let us know how PP is affecting you as you work the plan.
