C'mon people now. You cannot rely on me to start the thread on a weekend. I don't post a lot on the weekend.

Wake up!

Since it's the weekend, let's get psychedelic in the motivation. From the seminal album, "Wish You Were Here," and the tune Q magazine called the #25 greatest guitar track of all time, Shine on You Crazy Diamond:

Come on you raver,
You seer of visions,
Come on you painter,
You piper, You prisoner,
and SHINE.

Exactly. Hopefully,

your visions are visualizations of the goal.
your raving is talking to others about the science of LC.
your canvas as a painter is your own body
your pipes the food choices you are making
your prison the old life from which you are escaping.

I know it is for me. As I shine, filing my taxes today!

Stuff happens....deal.....if'n you don't want to have the responsibility of posting 1st in the morning, especially on a weekend....go back to bed

I've already spent my refund (new clothes, trip to Ohio...things like that...nothing important really) Have fun!

My vision is on the canvas as I rave about my pipes that are freeing me from my prison and allowing me to SHINE

I think I'm finally back. Spent a long time last night (until 12:30 a.m.) working things out and I'm raring to go again. I've got all my little plans in place and my mind is focused again on the next goal.

Great way to start the morning....Thanks Max.....sometimes there are reasons I "let" you post first :D

Have a wonderful day to you and all who follow here,
Michelle

Hello Max, Michelle :).

Food is on track for the day, and I've done my exercise. I'm going to go out for a walk and do two 20% things this afternoon - I'll take some photographs which is a revival of an old hobby, and I'll get some sunshine. It's not especially warm yet, so there probably won't be much skin exposed .

Hi, ya'll,

Max, you "done good" this am. Great thoughts especially the
"your visions are visualizations of the goal" really hit home with me.

I have been practicing my relaxation and visualization after work for the last two days and intend to continue for the month. I am going to look as good as I did a few years ago, even better. DH will look like he has a trophy wife.

Now I am going to exercise, aerobic tape, upper body weights with resistance bands, core work.

Nothing planned but cleaning house today.

Tonight, the Symphony. Will see if the little black dress will fit again. I just bet it will.

<<<Michelle>>>>, so glad you are back on track.

Janet, have fun with your photography and the sunshine, today.

Will edit later.

Claudette

p.s. Just got on the scale, I am down 2 lbs. Whoopie!

Afternoon All,

I took advantage of my first day off since last Friday. Boy was the sleep good. I actually feel awake now. I started working on a baby hat yesterday while commuting. I think one more commute and that one will be done.

We went to the Pennsylvania Dutch Market last night. It would have been easy to go off plan, but I was good. But how tasty good was. As one of my sides to the ham steak was cottage cheese like I haven't tasted in years. Hubby doesn't like cottage cheese, but I got him to taste it. Then I was afraid I wouldn't get any more. ;) I am going to have to plan a honey tree dinner and have some of their chicken pot pie one night. And of course, Pennsylvania Dutch desserts are wonderful, but I didn't get any.

We bought some gorgeous produce, meat and yogurt cheese. Haven't tried the cheese yet, but it looks yummy.

Today was going to just be a fiber day, but then I remembered that we have overnight company coming Tuesday night so it has become a cleaning day :( instead.

Did have an on-plan breakfast.

Later,
Bonnie

Hi Karole!

Bonnie...I'm fairly sure your talking AMISH stuff...and YUMMO I KNOW! lol Thankfully we live between Ohio Amish and Indiana Amish...so we LOAD UP several times a year. I buy ALL of our meat there (it's all frozen) for months worth of food. All naturally raises and free of hormones, antibotics! Part of going there includes eating at resturants such as that one you mentioned...of course, I avoid the PIE. lol

Hi Hawk...stay safe, luckily we aren't getting that snow! YAY!

Today went to the library to take out some movies, music and brought home a couple of Dana Carpenter's cook books! I'm planning on using the library for entertainment while I recouperate! :D

Then this evening going to a newly remodeled Mexican Resturant with my sister and bil...so fajitia's will be my dinner!

I must tell ya...I'm wearing some of my oldest, largest jeans today, and well, they are SO tremendously baggy! I just LOVE that feeling!! lol. Almost to the point that they look STUPID! lol But, well, I'll wear them around the house till they fall OFF me! lol :D

Hi everyone!

Janet, do you have snow? Right now my yard looks like a Christmas card. Last week, I was in Florida taking pictures of palm trees. I even got a little tan because the wedding was outside.

Bonnie, sleep is definitely good.

Claudette, I'm sure the dress will fit. What's playing at the symphony?

Hawk, you're an inspiration.

Missy, it's fun when the pants actually fall down. That shouldn't be to long now, huh? Did you announce the date of your surgery while I was gone?

Hey ALL...

Claudette, I have new answer for when someone asks what I do... "I'm an ornament!" "An ornament!?!?!?" "Yes, I'm shiny, and hang off my husband's arm!" :D (Might have gotten that off this board, maybe even YOU, but I love it... and, what a TRIP to see the faces, LOL!)

Missy! The baggy-butted jeans syndrome... YES!!!

Yup Missy, Pennsylvania Dutch are Amish or Mennonite. I can't imagine Amish using all of the modern electricity, credit cards, etc.

My new goal in life.....I want to be an ornament....Is there a manual I need to read?

Michelle

SherryJ

Hm-mmm... I don't know about a manual, but I've had 20 years of practice! ;) Starts with the right man, though!

Sherry

I wish I could tell you how to get to be an ornament but I just fell into it. The kids left and had their own lives and there was just this space so I filled it by hooking myself onto my husband's arm everytime he left the house. I think Sherry is right, you need the right man, I mean it's really hard to shine if the guy you try to shine with never gets up from the couch.

I'm pretty sure that to be a real ornament someone else has to be bringing in the cash, so I don't think it's really all that do-able as a life plan.

SherryJ
03-04-2007, 06:34 PM
Was it YOU, Moe?!?!?! Glad to have that sorted out!

Gotta tell ya... we're a one income family, and it CAN work... tight sometimes, but then again, so it is on two or more income fams! ;)

Mitra,

3/3 was a yes with a maybe. Everything was on target except my steps. I was a slug yesterday and did not walk even what I walked last Saturday. But Friday I almost doubled the amount of steps that I walked the Friday before. My guess if I average the totals at the end of the week it will still be yes for the steps. If I'm taking it as a day-day comparison than my steps for yesterday was a no. But, being a slug after an incredibly hectic week felt good.

Michelle,
You can be an ornament, even on a budget!

You just have to find the right guy.... who knows what's around the corner for you.!

We don't go out that much, just the symphony and occasionally the opera. Since DH sings with our city symphony chorus, that is why we are able to get season tickets for 1/2 price. We get tickets in the "crows nest", so it fits our budget. The chorus members though they re-audition yearly and a large number are good enough to be professional, they are a volunteer group, unpaid.

Like Moe, I just hook myself up to DH when he goes places, even to the hardware or we go grocery shopping together. You can shine as an ornament in the little things in life.

Michelle, you are half way there once you set your sights on that "shiney" goal. I'm not sure you have to hang yourself on a husband and Claudette is totally right as long as you have food to eat and a roof over your head you can shine anywhere. Last week I got to shine on the red line in Chicago. I had no idea those trains went so fast. We were in the last train car. It felt like being in the last seat of a roller coaster. I always thought those tracks were straight but we were whipping all over the place and you can bet your boots I held my place and hung tight to his arm. It was like watching the cat play with the christmas tree ornaments. I was shining all over the place. It was kinda scary but also very fun.
