"If we had no winter, the Springwould not be so pleasant if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome"

~ Charlotte Brontė

On Monday I really wanted to think so hopefully! We had walked alot this weekend and walking through a wooded section we found some yellow and purple croques and some other small white and purple flowers I was not familiar with. Spring I thought! Great hopeful sign!

On Monday, the first day of spring we were blanketed with snow, in fact yesterday our schools were closed in all the surrounding communities, even the courts wee closed. Everyone came ino the office kind of growly and mumbling, complaining about the weather, cars not starting and for a few minutes my hopes were as dashed as theirs.

And I thought to myself, why is it that my hopefulness should be dashed by others negativity. One of my appointments didn't show up, so I got on line and sent links to flower catalogs to my co-workers with a message about the smells of spring right around the corner.

Of the 10 people I sent the link to, 3 of the came into my office and thanked me for being able to see spring through the snow it really lifted their day...so here is the link I sent. If you are having a "I hate winter" bring on Spring kind of day (for our Australian friends, enjoying fall this may not work) I hope you can find some "spring" some hope in getting rid of the adversity and think spring!

No snow here, but it's still cold and wintery. I tried to go clothes shopping, but all the shops are full of floaty summery things. It made me feel cold just looking at them. So I came home empty-handed. Thank you for the reminder that spring will arrive.

But it's traditional to whine about the last few days of winter! :p

We're whining a little because of the cold temps, but we have brilliant sunshine, which is enough for me. I'm so sorry you guys are having the "last" blizzard of the year. At least I hope it is. Michigan is quite capable of producing snow for a couple more months yet.

If it weren't for the bad times, how would we know when we're having the good times? Very true!

As is CO, Carol! The first year we moved here, it snowed in JUNE. Yes, it gets a bit gray, but DUDE, we get to live HERE!!! The mountains MORE than make up for a snow storm on a day we wanted sunshine... besides, make your OWN sunshine, LOL!!! :p

Billie, thanks for the link... I've not seen that catalog, and I'm wishing! ;)

Have a great day, ALL!

Sherry I go to that catalog sometimes for a pick me up. I haven't ordered anything from it yet but I could!

Gabe starts his classes today...funny story. You know that Disney commercial where the little boy goes into his sister's room cause he is so excited and then the dad can't sleep either. Last night Gabe said, "I am so excited, I can't sleep", just like the little boy does in the commercial. Today is the first day of his class, like a kid in a candy store last night!

I absolutely LOVE that commercial, Billie... give your "boy" a big hug for me, and tell him he'll do just fine! LOL! :D

I will be grinnin' for him today!

The first year we moved here, it snowed in JUNE.

Well I think you were already in CO the year I worked there (1995) but it snowed on my first day of work in January AND on my last day - June 4th!

The temp here has been going nuts lately. It's cool today, but beautiful. It's been so warm lately that plants are blooming. We never did have a winter to speak of.

Billie, where is Gabe teaching?

I've ordered from White Flower Farm several times and was very pleased. I usually use a picture of one of their flowers for my desktop....makes me feel good.

Spring snow storms in WI are nice because the snow never lasts long on the ground. Enjoy!!!

Billie,
For Gabe, hope his first day was as exciting as he expected!
I love that Disney comercial, also.
Congratulations on his new job.

It's kind of brisk here by Texas standards, so I am enjoying it immensely.
In the 40's for a low, late 50's for a high.

Hugs,
Claudette

He is part time faculty at Illinois Central College in Peoria, teaching a very exciting parasitology class :o

I have the white farms catalog sent to my house, and may give it a try. I am so anxious for spring and to get dirty in the flowers, there is so much joy in tht for me.

And, it snowed again here today - April 21.

Eventually, Spring will arrive.
Eventually, I'll get stronger and healthier
Eventually . . .

Life continues, through all the ups and downs.
