HI PEOPLE!!!! I'M BAAAAAAACK!!!

Sorry if I haven't posted these days, the truth is that I didn't feel good on my father's death anniversary, but the rest of the days the computer didn't work, and I couldn't get into the board... what a pity... but you DO HAVE missed me, I know...

I have been doing well these days... just one day I missed the exercise, but I didn't feel so good... My TOM is here with me again, so I don't feel the losing or the improving, so I'll wait until the next week to see any changes...

Thank you really to everybody that thought of me, I have been reading quickly the threads (a lot...) and I would like to say: THANK YOU!!!
YOU ARE REALLY REALLY GREAT!!! (Missy included... )

My wedding anniversary will be on february (not in december, because my father died 4 days before my wedding and so, I didn't get married that date, I waited some time to recover...) but you are right, on my anniversary I will travel again!! Great!!!:)

Well, I'm thinking about changing my avatar again (yes... again...:D ) because "our dear Missy" told me she was going to put her photo if I put mine and now I see she lied to me, so...

By the way... GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

Morning everyone!

Virginia, glad you're back! I'm new, but I was definitely missing your posts.
"Those" anniversary days are so hard...I still "talk" to my mother on the date of her death and it was 32 years ago.

Breakfst down - scrambled eggs, 2 1/2 slices of bacon (dog got the other 1/2), "cawfee", water

Becca - it seems like I spend my entire life in the bathroom when I drink my water...and my dd's friend commented to me last night - how do you drink two things at once (coffee and water).

Will bring a few slices of London broil with me to snack on mid-morning - have a "big" work meeting, so some extra protein before will be good!

Lunch will be the Greek yogurt - 7 carbs to the cup, with active cultures, and fat...

Now, if I only knew what to wear today .

Have a great day, everyone!

Anniesnan great plan for the day! I understand not knowing what to wear, I long for my high school uniform days sometimes! :)
Michelle, that is outstanding, You are doing awesome! Sending a package to my Colorado Springs son today, but he gave me a weather report last night from your neck of the woods!

VIRGINIA, what was that comment about "American friends" hmmmmm!!!! You rascal!

Today heading toward the gym and hope to spend at least 45 minutes there, We have a Christmas concert tonight I am looking forward to and all of a sudden our cold winter turned in to the feel of a wet spring--Joanne, Carol, Hawk, Bangs, Lizi--us Midwesterners are getting strange weather!

Taking some adorable Christmas ornaments today to the office for gift giving, I have people away next week so thought I had better get it done this week.

Have a great day everyone, stay focused on what you are trying to accomplish, it is the greatest gift you can give!

Been up and out already. Walked to Loaf and Jug for a something to drink. 2871 steps, I'm off to a good start on Tuesday.
Okay, I admit it, I'm obsessive. Give me a new toy and I'll play with it until it breaks. I'm the same way right now about the weight loss, exercise and getting healthy. Don't think that's such a bad thing.
Off to clean up, get the kid up and moving and get to work.
Hope all of you have a wonderful day and I'll read all about it tonight.

Goodness... just as I was about to start posting everything crashed!

Another chilly morning here in the South, with warm afternooons.

Haven't accomplished much yet this morning, got DD1 off to her before school meeting. Trying to decide what to do for breakfast - toss up between a shake or boiling some eggs.

Plans for today include the cleaning I didn't get done yesterday and wrapping presents.

Virginia - Welcome back!

Agnes - I normally drink a LOT of water, just yesterday seemed like I was in the bathroom a LOT more than usual. Course maybe it just seemed like it cuz I was out and about and not at home. ;) I'm thinking (hoping) my body was dumping some fluid it's been holding onto the past couple of weeks. Will see what the scale has to say this weekend.

Michelle - Great job on the FBS and the no insulin!

Billie - Enjoy the concert tonight. Sounds like an enjoyable evening.

Check back in later... servers permitting

The Icky Sounds of Christmas Carols have started to waft out of Carol's Cubicle. It is making me ill and ill tempered. It's not that I have a been with X-mas or the attendant music, it's just that I would like to have an opt out on the whole thing, except for the week before. I feel that Thanskgiving is too early a start, nevermind Halloween. Given the relative fortunes of Christmas and Halloween in the popular mind, I suspect the start of Christmas season will be Labor Day before I leave this earth.

I have a ritual to get me past all of the office ickiness each year. It is a viewing of the movie Bad Santa. It just puts it all in it's place. Sadly, I already viewed it and sent it back to NetFlix. I felt that this was a bad move at the time and now as the lilting tones of Perry Como come wafting over the cube wall, I know I blew it.

Any rate, after complaining yesterday about a lack of work, now they have a ton of really boring work to keep me too busy to complain again. It's still not the project I am supposed to be working on (3 months of challenging work) but it's something. Any rate, I hope to finish this mundane task by end of business today or lunch tomorrow at the latest, just to try and force them to give me something really time consuming. Any rate, I don't expect to be on to much today.

Later folks.

HI, y'all,

Feeling better today, voice is better, a sexy nice alto one, raspy, instead of my usuall soprano. I am at work, but taking it easy.

Food and snacks packed.

I might try my Body Flex aerobic tape this afternoon when I get home if I still have energy.

Billie-enjoy the concert tonight

Virginia-glad to see you back

Becca-hope you have a great day

Agnes-way to go on the water

Michelle- great job on the BS!

Will try to check in later.

G' morning!

Virginia, it's great to see you again. We have definitely missed you! :)

Michelle, congrats on passing by the chocolate, and on the blood sugar readings. Those kinds of accomplishments are great motivators to keep on keepin' on.

Max, I know what you mean about the piped in carols. My local oldies station has been playing Christmas music on every 3rd song for a couple of weeks. Fatigue has already set in. :suspicious: It wasn't that long ago that the stations only played them on the 24th and 25th.

I kept on plan yesterday despite the funeral and the committee meeting. We are really going to miss the friend who died because she had more theology knowledge than the rest of us combined. We sort of brainstormed about topics to explore for our summer project, but we felt lost without her to guide us.

Today I WILL finish up my shopping for the out-of-towners. I have my list made out, and where I plan to buy what for whom. Now if I just had someone to wrap them for me. Tonight are the 2 get-togethers I mentioned earlier. One is happy hour with my former co-workers, and the Christmas party. I guess I'll just have to make short appearances at both.

No exercise yet, but I will do a resistance workout before I go shopping. Got to get those arms in shape for lifting all those packages!

Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning all!

Virginia!! So nice to see you're back! I was starting to wonder where you'd gone to!

Sounds like everyone's got a busy day planned. I've got to run some errands, then take #2 kid to eye doctor after school, rush home and then to his hockey game.

Have to call up the FAFSA people for #1 son's transfer ideas . . . I could really "bless" him at this point - I think he's trying to do too much to transfer as a freshman between semesters, and now with all the ensuing financial aid mess. . . oh fun fun fun.

Going to the gym in just a bit.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The scale at home suggests that I am merely overweight now, no longer obese. By the slimmest margin. Here's to getting to normal!

So, on August 20th, I had a BMI (I know it's not a great metric, but every way to measure progress is just that) of 34. It is now 29.976. Technically, just overweight. Yeah!.

Max, that's exciting! Way to go...

And, Michelle... speaking of EXCITING!!! I'm stoked about your bs numbers... WHOO-HOOOO!!!

I also know what you mean about your pedometer. My GF got one for me for my birthday in October... my highest number was 21,000 steps in a day! HUGE, and not a normal day, but still, pretty cool to see, LOL!

You're doing great... keep goin'! :)

Morning gals and guys. So nice to see each of you this am. I'm only a little dizzy today, and am going to endulge myself with a massage shortly.

Well, I can really understand how difficult this time of year can be for some of you--Virginia, how much pain this time of year brings with such a fresh loss in your life :( Kathy, the recent loss of your friend, and Max and everyone forced to listen to Christmas music prematurely. My Mom got a diagnosis of terminal metastatic bone cancer on Christmas eve a few years ago, and the holidays have never been quite the same. Sorry, don't mean to be such a downer this morning!

Billie, the snow is almost melted here, thunderstorms, fog, mist....this is the Midwest??? LOL!

OK, hope to be back, relaxed and glowing, and in a better frame of mind!

Virginia - Welcome back :D!

Agnes - Great plan with that mid-morning protein boost!

Michelle - Wow, 5 days without insulin is awesome ! You are rockin'!

Hawk - I think you'd have to never get any sleep to keep up with this rowdy bunch !

Billie - I hope you spend 45 minutes there, too ;). Have a wonderful time tonight!

'Becca - Hopefully the server gods will cooperate and you can come see us again :).

Max - Isn't that just the way it goes ?

Claudette - I am so happy you're feeling better!

Kathy - Great job, yesterday! And yes, get that resistance done - your muscles will thank you ;).

Joanne - Good morning :D! Hope to hear a good gym report later!

Bangs - (((HUGS)))!!!!! Whether you're up or down, we're here for you!

Good morning all.

Today is a laid back day with only a few problems here at work. The one guy was so thankfull even though my news was negative (no data lost but he needs to return his Flash Drive) he reached into a bowl and said, "In appreciation for helping I'd like you to have this.", and passed me a small 1" triangle of foil wrapped Toblerone. I said thaks and continued talking tech-talk but his eyes were on the bit of chocolate and I new he was wondering why I hadn't consumed his "gift".
I did the quick calculation that it was likely the equivalent of just under 2 squares of chocolate and ... endulged for under 10 ECC.

The rest of the day will be totally on track and in a last ditch effort to be ready for teh possible onslaught of holiday treats, have started working on more veggies and less calorie dense foods, just to have a small buffer for the actual holiday festivities.
I do expect some great Christmas cake or even a bit of Mincemeat somewhere in the next 3 weeks and feel oddly justified doing it this way.

(((Virginia)))It's great seeing you on the board again! We've REALLY missed you!

Billie...weird weather, indeed! Nearly all of the snow is melted now. Gosh...it feels like the beginning of spring around here...and the birds were chirping this morning when I let Winnie outside.

Billie, the snow is almost melted here, thunderstorms, fog, mist....this is the Midwest??? LOL!

Well, as we joke around my household,

"It's Al Gore's world and the rest of us just pay rent."

Not to start any discussion of politics or anything, but if you are like me and think global warming is going to be maybe a bigger problem than terrorism (it doesn't matter if they blow up your building if your city is underwater), who would you want to be your president? I know my answer.

Damn, it's dead in herrre. Where's Missy?

After reading Randy's bio, and looking at the pictures, I am reminded of my new favorite item: my ID badge at work. It was taken maybe 31 lbs ago, maybe more. The guy on the badge doesn't really have a jaw line. The guy in the mirror does. The guy in the badge's neck just kind of fills his collar to overfull, and his top button looks like it's strained. The guy in the mirror has a lot of room to breathe and an actual, definable neck. Any rate, the guy in the mirror feels pretty good about not being the guy on the ID, to the point where he's maybe becoming a little obnoxious about doing a side by side for other people.

Work remains borinb, but the full day task is very close to completion. I should complete it by 3 EST. Then what, I don't know. They seem to think they have a project for me, but I don't think it will be ready or something. I have lost faith in my current masters' ability to give me the work they are supposed to give me. *sigh*

Developed a new theory of marriage this morning. I had a professor in business school (now a good friend) who used to talk about his preferred style of management as "structure". He suggested that "structure" people view the world as constantly falling apart if they are not doing things to hold it together. I think this is a law of thermodynamics, about entropy increasing. So, I think marriage is a lot like his metaphorical marbles on a table that will spread and eventually fall off the table. You have to do things to maintain the "order". You can do them early, and they will be small and easy, you can do them later and they are bigger, or you can simply watch the marbles fall off the table. Any rate, happy to say that despite not being a "structure" leader (I am more of a "vision" leader), I have taken this approach with the marriage and have seen rewards lately. A little compliment every day can make a lot of difference over the long haul.

Good day all...I've been BAD. SICK and BAD. :( TOTALLY OFF PLAN...and mostly because I plain ol' didn't care...isn't THAT something! What a change in me today...I'm SO MISERABLE and feeling so poorly due to this cold, that I just simply didn't CARE "too much" about what I ate. I preplanned a salad today for lunch...but the school lunch sounded better to my coughing self....so I caved. THEN I was so tired when I came home that I caved YET AGAIN to pizza. :( Now, I'm not going to beat myself UP over it, heck, I can't even taste the food...so I don't know why I bothered...but I did. It was easy, and I'm feeling poorly. NOT making excuses...but not NOT confiding the truth either. I simply 'blew it'. After being a SAINT for the all of this month TOO! OH, well. It happens!

However, on a GOOD NOTE! Had and EXCELLENT DAY TODAY at my kid's show...and I loved it! Look forward to going back tomorrow, even though, as I said, I'm sicker then a dog. Not so sick that I'm spreading anything...just the exhausting part of sinus aspect of it all! The cold finally CAUGHT ME...darn it! But, that doesn't mean I can't STOP what I'm doing....since I only "work" so many days per year...lol one's got to DO what one's GOT to do!

Billie....hope everyone likes their ornaments!

Virginia...love it that your back...and PLEASE PLEASE FORGIVE ME MY LOVE....I'll post my picture NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!! Promise! I'll be "FREE" once again..and will positively figure it all out! PROMISE!!!! Besides, YOU already KNOW what I look like!

Max? You saying your MISSING ME!!!!!!?????? :o :D

Everyone else...I read what you wrote...I think. BUT, I'll admit, not much is sinking in tonight! Tomorrow shall be a better day! I HOPE!

Tomorrow's a "short" day for me, so I'll be back sooner!

Evening all. I think I spent most of the day parked on the floor wrapping presents and getting caught up on DVR'd shows. I do have everything that has been purchased thus far wrapped though, so that's a plus.

Course the downside to that was I wasn't drinking as much water. Too much effort to get up! ;) I've tried to make up for it since then, but there's only so much you can do, not like I can drink all of it at once!

Still savoring my totally yummy dinner.... salmon patties (I had 1.5), lightly steamed broccoli and a really good salad (romaine, baby carrots, cheese and cesear dressing!). Most enjoyable meal I've had at home in a while.

Now for my totals before I get side tracked with my responding to everyone else....

Protein 134 grams
ECCs: 26.5 grams
Supplements: all taken (well the ones I haven't run out of anyways)
Water: 126 ounces (in progress)
Exercise: None

Billie - hope you're enjoying your concert. Saw your other thread, I have been making good use of my "ignore user" button, but I suspect you all are doing such a good job at banning them that I don't really need it.

Missy! ((( hugs ))) so sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope you recover from both your cold and your fall off the wagon very quickly. I thank you for being honest with us! It would be so easy to keep it to yourself and not say anything, but in truth we aren't really affected so lying/omitting it is only hurting yourself. (hope that makes sense). Glad to hear your show was a success! Spend some of the money on zinc, chicken broth and hot tea! :)

Virginia - of course you are loved! When someone is missing we notice! Looks like you had a very good on plan day as well :)

Max - so glad to hear you're seeing a noticable difference. Has it reached the point where folks don't believe the ID picture is even you? That's always fun! And I think it's been dead around here lately cuz folks are so busy with holiday stuff. I actually turned off my computer for most of the day!

Lizi - nice to see you! You've been rather quiet lately, not absent, just not saying a whole lot! :) Aren't you guys supposed to enjoy the warm snaps when they happen this time of the year?

Randy - One small indulgence, and it doesn't sound like it was much of one really, isn't bad! Besides chocolate does have some good qualities ;) Thank you again for sharing your story and pictures with us!

Bangs - how was the massage? Are you feeling better? Dizzy is never a good sign.

Sherry  Haven't seen you in forever! I know you hide on that other thread ;) I hope all is going well with you and yours, you've been in my prayers.

Joanne - hope things went well with the FASFA folks. Thankfully I've not had to deal with transfers. Most I've had to do was "edit" my EFC due to me losing my job right when DS started to school! and that was with the school not FASFA. Sounds like the rest of your day was very very busy too!

Kathy - have you finished you shopping yet? ;) Lots of temptations today for you too it seems... how did that go for you?

Claudette - glad to hear you're feeling better if not yet 100%. Don't overdo it too soon though, could set you back again!

Shadow as always checking in on us to make sure we're behaving!

If I've missed anyone I'm sorry!

Off to do the advent calendar with my DDs. I'm sure I'll pop back in at least once before bed!

What a change in me today...I'm SO MISERABLE and feeling so poorly due to this cold, that I just simply didn't CARE "too much" about what I ate.
Ya know ya just hafta chalk it up to that rotten cold, I think. We had a conversation about "comfort food" a week or so ago when I was doing the same thing. And of course, one thing leads to another.

Today I stopped into the supermarket on the way home from work without having a snack first. I trucked through the bakery and deli departments intensely aware of stuff I never even look at usually. I got out with only a bag of mixed nuts and had some when I got home. That held me until dinner, which was a pork chop. I had plenty of vegetables and fruit at lunchtime along with some szechuan beef.

The experts say never get too:
Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired

I have to agree with it.

Claudette, I never thought of my croak being sexy! I'm back to my usual alto now, about two days too late.

Hope you sickies feel better soon!

Virginia, welcome back and please don't take away your beautiful avatar. Missy will get around to posting hers--we'll pester her until she does! :D

Max, we like to hear about the stranger on your ID card, really! That's what this is all about. Sometimes we just have a thread about the little things that are so neat. That qualifies!

I'm doing... okay... thanks for asking. Today, I just burst into tears, as Mom had dug out a note Dad had written several years back, and she put it on her bulletin board, in full view of everyone! Well, I read it... and it was overwhelming the love they shared.

I'm extremely tired, and am taking tomorrow off from going up there... I smell a nap, I'm sure! :D

Hey, all!

I just got back from the gym...did a resistance training class for 70 min which worked the legs, biceps, triceps, back, abs & shoulders. I then ran for 10 min out of 20 on the treadmill. I, then, took the kids to the gym's swimming pool and let them have about an hour of fun. My husband picked up the kids at the gym and I did 25 min on the ellip.

Becca...yes, I have been quiet, haven't I?:o I really don't know why exactly...this week I've been more tired than usual at the end of the day. My workouts have been reflecting that, too. I usually can run for 30 min but I'm wiped out after 10!:o

Think I'm going to eat some turkey now in front of the tube. I need some vegging time!

Just got back from hockey. They lost 3-2 but a very competitive game to watch.

Right before I had planned to leave the house this morning and exercise, granite friend called and needed help asap, he was, really in a bind, so I had to change plans thinking I'd be back later to exercise, but then it was to the eye doctor and then to JV game and then varsity game right after. So I missed my exercise today.:( That's my confession I have to make! Tomorrow I may have to work with my friend too, so I'm planning to get exercise done right after I take #2 son to school.

I hear you, Missy. Sometimes I'm tempted the worst when I have a cold and can't taste anything anyway - what a waste. I agree with Carol, I think it's the sense of comfort we're looking for. Well dear, it's upward and onward to better things for all of us, eh?!!

Gaelen and Sherry have handled alot of it, just recently I have been banning, but it seems like it has been several a week. Most of you were not around when our old board get sabotaged so cruelly, so we are very protective.

Use that ignore button and don't be afraid to PM or email any of the moderators.

Thanks everyone!

P.S. Oh yeah I got in resistance for 25 minutes of biking today about 6 miles. The concert was great!

Ok, girl... don't worry... I know that I know what you look like, but I'd love the rest of the gang would know it to... hahaha...:D Ok, if you don't want to do it, please, don't do it... I wasn't sure about showing my photo at the beginning, but after doing it, I feel happy, but that is my opinion... Just DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO...;)
Anyway, Carol is helping me to force you to do it so... (THANKS CAROL, YOU ARE GREAT!!!;) ) I don't know if you will be able to refuse... ehem...
I hope you get better from your cold soon, I know it is difficult to stay on plan on those days, because you only want the world to forget you for a while... And don't worry, a bad day is not important if you go back to the plan on the next one. I always remember when Gabe said that storing fat is not a matter of one day, it requires more than one, so, if one day we don't eat properly, we are not going to store all that fat inmediately... So, chin up, babe!! I need you as strong like always to go on with our plans... ehem... I mean... our chats...:paranoid:

Ohhh... I'm great now! :D Thanks Virginia!

Lizi I hope you're not coming down with something. Can't have you getting sick, too many folks around here are sick already! Try to get some rest!

DH doesn't get "sick" in the traditional sense (or when he does it's like having a 2 year old in the house) but he'll have times where he is excessively tired (even for him) for several day and it never fails, after he has one of those times, one or more of the rest of us get full blown sick. It's like his body just fights through it (and wearing him out) without showing any other symptoms.

Becca...yeah...I don't know if I'm coming down with something...or if it's perhaps not being in the sunshine..;)

Usually, I do run a temp, chills, etc. if I'm sick. Hopefully, I'm not coming down with something....I don't have TIME to get sick!

Thanks EVERYONE for your understanding....Carol, you right, it's the darn cold...cause it certainly isn't the TASTE aspect of it.....Today, I tried to eat my salad, but the school lunch had mashed potatoes and gravy...and it just sounded MUCH more comforting to my throat...so another "off" day AGAIN..but, oh well. It was soothing to my throat. I still feel like I'm doing WELL...so, I forgive these couple of days. It's not like it was plates full of cookies or anything. I feel better, and I feel worse...depending upon the hour it is! Thanks all for your understanding!! Becca, your SO right, no sense to lying or not telling, because that's not the POINT of this support group or being a member of it.

I DID however, STILL have a terrific day at the school. It was a short day today. Oh! Wait, this is YESTERDAYS POST! FORGET I SAID ANYTHING!!!!!!....and when I say it again in Day 13 think of it as de ja vue, Okay! :D

Max! IF your read this...I meant to mention how COOL it is about your work id! YES!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Jawline! I love it! :D

Michelle...I think your going to WALK YOUR WAY TO THIN! lol :D

Lizi...don't get sick. It's no fun. I'm fairly certain my brain has turned to SNOT!

Virginia...oh, I'm SOOOOOOOOO POSTING my AVATOR DEAR!!!!.....so don't you worry! Everyone here is PREPARED for my beauty.....I think! lol

I can definitely relate to the sunshine thing! Even my DDs will be quick to point out the lack of sun if I'm complaining about wanting to nap or being exhausted!

Take care of yourself!

Missy - hope you feel better soon too!
