We're going back up to my parents' today. We'll drive up in the morning (3-4 hours, depending on traffic) grab some lunch (parents won't be there, they're going out for lunch), and visit MIL in hospital in the afternoon (one hour driving each way, one hour visiting).
I don't think I'll manage any formal exercise, but should be able to keep my eating on plan. I'll check in whenever I can elbow my father and husband aside to get some computer time :).

Up a little early this morning and will get in some treadmill and work on my obliques. I teach Sunday School later (teens) and we have my BIL over for games and dinner later.
I will make sure I get my water today. At work I keep a large glass at my desk yet at home on the weekends actually get less since it not sitting there in front of me.
Great day yesterday, ending with Dreamfields Pasta, onions, hamburger and tomato sauce almost like a casserole.

Up here too, we fell, should say I fell asleep wathcing Fodo and company last night so ready for the day today.
My Chicago son is still here, he will leave today but that won't be so hard because he is coming back down in 2 weeks for a nice long holiday weekend. Did I say two weeks and holiday? YIKES! My shopping is coming along and this is Gabe's last week of school but will be helping out some friends "baristating" at their Coffee shop. We have tickets for a Christmas concert on Tuesday night that my staff gave me for bosses day back in October, Jim Brickman, so looking forward to some nice relaxing Piano music on Tuesday.
Michelle, I know where that air base is in Colorado Springs, we were just in your neck of the woods in June visiting my son. I am still a tourist when I go there, and sometimes go back to the same things time after time because I just love it.
Have a good day everyone! Be kind to yourself and stay on plan, check in later!

Mitra - Travel safely and tell those guys your computer time is important ;)!
Randy - Looks like a good day for you :).
Billie - Sounds like you have a lot of socializing to do in the near future - but hopefully you'll get that exercise in too !
Michelle - Great picture! Looks like you have everything lined up for a stellar week including some great exercise today !
Got my resistance work done for the day. I don't plan my meals on the weekend but since all I ever have in my house is low-carb friendly foods, I know whatever I eat will be on plan. Water going down, will take supps as soon as I'm finished here, and then will have a nice, relaxing, and hopefully rejeuvenating Sunday.

Hi, y'all,
I was on plan yesterday, but busy with finishing shopping then singing at church last night. Our son was also home with his friend, they came to hear us sing last night. When I got home, I collapsed.
Today, is the program again at church, then voice lessons tonight for DH & I. We will go shopping before the lessons, eat at a PP friendly place.
Oh, and to get the exercise in, we will go to the state park to walk at my favorite trail.
Oh, since I had worn the dress for the program, I have lost inches, so I had the skirt rolled up under the top two or three times and pinned to keep it on! That made me feel great!
Will check in later.

Just checking in for the day.
Will be cleaning, organizing my iTunes (this is a project that seems nigh endless), going out with some friends and seeing Mel Gibson's Apocalypso (as my wife calls it, which always brings to mind Louis Farakhan's early career as a mediocre calypso singer and cracks me up). I think we are going to a very LC friendly restaurant, the Hard Times Cafe. I might even buy some extra to go, for a lunch or something this week. Affordable and generally pretty LC. Oh, and they will make Chili w/o beans (a travesty to the Lord and all things Chili, IMHO).
Plan today is to go:
Pro: 120+
CHO: <30
Water: 2L+
Pills: No ADHD (I skip weekends), but all others.
Exercise: top 10K steps. Am up to 4300+ already, so we will see.
Have a doozy of a motivational post planned for monday. It came to me in a vision. Well, not a vision, but a moment of mild inspiration.

breakfast down
we have two wakes to go to this afternoon but will be leaving early, so have lunch after.
Need to do some errands and cleaning and laundry.
I really need to start exercising regularly - December is so hard because of work and holiday committments.
Agnes
Hi, all.
What, no posts in almost 3 hours??? Where are yoooooou?
The party last night was nice, and they served very PP-friendly foods, like meatballs, boiled shrimp, cheese balls, and veggies and dip. I indulged in 2 little mini cheesecake thingies that were about an inch square. No damage done when I checked the scales this morning. :)
I didn't have to go to church this morning since the choir sang yesterday, so I had time to do an extra walk, jog, and stairclimbing routine. It's just as well I had something to do since the paper was extra late getting here.
I had every intention in going shopping before the church crowd got out this morning, but here I am on the computer. It took a long time to get logged in again. :suspicious:
Janet, glad you had time to pop in! Hope your MIL is improving.
Claudette, great news on the skirt being too big. That's a GOOD thing! :D
Hi, Michelle, Joanne, 'Becca, Billie, Max, Randy, Shadow, Bangs, Missy, Lynn, Annie, Lizi, CM, Gabe, Carol, and I know I'm forgetting a bunch of folks.
Have a great Sunday! :)

Hey gang, I'm here but woke up with a headache and now am dizzy as all heck. Dang.
The only good news is that my behind is SORE as heck from doing floor exercises yesterday. That must mean something good is happening back there, LOL!
Hugs to all and hope to see you later

Claudette - How marvelous !
Agnes - There is always going to be something to potentially interfere :). That's why exercise gets scheduled - just like an appointment (and I mean an appointment you have to pay for even if you miss it) ;). If you wait until you "have time" or anticipate no disruptions, than it's a totally futile thought.
Bangs - Yahoo on the sore butt :D! But I hope you feel better soon - and I don't mean your tushie, either! Do you think it's a seasonal bug?
Max - I'll be anxiously awaiting the inspiration!
Kathy - Hello back at ya :D!
'Becca - Sunday mornings are great ones for getting a slow start ;).

Report thus far:
Have overindulged carbs a little. Breakfast used a mission LC tortilla, with two eggs, over somewhere between easy and hard, cheese, hot sauce, and salt. high carb, but a ton of fiber. Cranked some Murray's SF fudge guys down, again highish carbs, but fiber and sug alcohol (was actually trying to instill some sugar alcohol blow back) for the most part. Lunch produced small serving of chili at a local chain. Made a bad decision here, opting for the 7 G carb/serving instead of the 2G/serv. Wanted to try the other one. It was very liquid, so it got a saltine. Leaves me at 32 ECC for the day. Little high, but c'est la vie. The coming week will be monkish devotion.
Any rate, with dinner to go:
PRO: 76 G
CHO 32 ECC
Water: 1L Water, 1L Tea, 1L Diet Coke.
Exercise: 7622 and counting.
Pills: some.

Shadow,
I know, I know...and I was making excuses, not giving reasons.
I really like walking with dh - good for our bodies, good for our minds (walking is a good time to talk - you're not looking at the other person eye to eye, so on my part I will speak without monitoring every word and nuance to prevent "offence" and thus don't censor myself as often {it's not needed, just a life long neurosis on my part}) and good for the marriage.
I'm not physically "up" to much more challenging stuff than walking right now. It isn't so much being out of shape, which I am, or being over-weight, which I am, but I have a chronic disorder which, without meds, about a year ago left me so fatigued I had to give myself an hour long pep talk to take a shower, would put one pair of pants in the wash, basically was barely functioning, didn't want to go on a beach vacation with dh where all I had to do was put on my bathing suit, sit on the beach, eat. I stopped reading (and I had a 4+ book a week habit) and only within the last month have I really begun reading again.
However, I have a slight tendency lately to over baby myself, and can use all the gentle PUSHING I can get!
In fact, I just returned from a walk around the park with dh and I feel great!
Agnes
Afternoon,, I ran the cameras at church today, went to Chilies and got the steak fajitas with out the tortilla shells, and went to see the Nativity with our pastor and his wife. It was well written and stayed kind of close to history. My favorite line was...(sarcasm...They are going to miss us)
I have been really good about staying on plan.. Thanks to all of you. I joined a couple of ladies at Celebrate Recovery. They are part of the foodaholic group. So far one has taken me aside and asked me about Protien Power life plan. She wants me to write down the title. She has tried weight watchers, low fat and vearious other diets. I explained to her that she may not have a discipline problem as much as an insulin resistance problem. Then I told her she needs the book. It is better than me at explaining this carb controlled diet. I explained about my fasting blood sugar being a little high and high blood pressure in the group. There are only two others who go to that group. They have been involved for two years and are still where they began. I was mentoring in the codependant group of women and decided to check another group out to see what all they talk about. I have been asked to start leading or facilitating a group. I think this may be the one.
I went to Krogers yesterday and found something I never saw before. I don't know if it is new or not. It is a yogurt (cultured lowfat dairy blend) I was not thrilled with the low fat, but 6 oz includes 12 grams of whey protien and has three net carbs.(4 and one fiber) 80 calories..sweetened with splenda!!! I cannot use aspartame. Called Carb Master.
It is not bad. I could still breathe after I ate some. It is distributed by Kroger. With a kroger label.
i leave in an hour to run sound and power point for a memorial service for people who's children have passed away. I guess around Christmas it is very hard for many of them. We have invited anyone in the county so there are many!.
It can get a little depressing to watch faces on the screen of laughing children knowing they have sll passed away.

Just a Quickie.
Walked to WalMart...bought a pedometer and put it on when I left the store. 3400 steps on the way home (x2 for round trip) about 1.5 miles each way, according to the book, with uphill and downhill both directions. Not a bad workout for the day.....just glad I was only carrying 1 small bag home.
I'll post totals later tonight but it's been a great day so far. Off to do laundry now.

Hola everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been checking in more often. I've been very preoccupied and not feeling well besides. It takes so much time to keep up with the posts that I find myself waiting until I have time--which never comes!
I haven't been doing my cardio and darn little resistance since Tuesday, but I'll be back on track tomorrow. I'm better today after a slow start. Got the grandson for a visit, which warms my heart.
I had some soup with friends yesterday. It was a vegetable soup that included chunks of yam and pieces of chicken. The seasoning was different, I think it had nutmeg in it. The best thing was that she usually made it with rice, but she didn't have any, so she put the chicken in for "body". How lucky was that? ;) I gotta get the recipe.
The weather is so wonderful! The sunshine! :) :) :)

Hi all, reporting in for the evening. I've actually been popping in and reading pretty much all day, just haven't had a whole lot to say. I'm noticing that during PMS week I either withdraw or turn on the pity-posts and I think withdrawn may be the lesser of the two evils so to speak.
I did my weighing/measuring this morning. Not at all happy with the results, everything going in the wrong direction. I'm gonna blame it all on PMS bloat and try not to get down about it. Based on the past 2 months I should be having a big whoosh here next weekend. At this rate I'm already higher than I started the month and I haven't even had my cheat days.
Did well plan wise today... early part of the day was actually quite low in the carb department and I went over a bit (16 ECCs) at dinner by having 1/2 baked sweet potato.
As to my getting up so early today... well normally I'm up at 6, alarm or no alarm. Today though I had planned on just doing the bathroom thing and crawling back in the warm bed... instead I dumped toothpaste on my gown in the dark and had to turn on the light to clean up and no way could I go back to bed after that. Mentally I never fully woke up I don't think... felt fuzzy headed most of the day. Gonna put that off on PMS too ;)
Mitra - we will be missing you. I hope you can get on long enough to at least say HI!
Billie - the radio station I listen to around here in the mornings had Jim Brickman on for an interview, Friday I think it was, may have been Thursday. I would love to see his show, been calling in trying to win tickets! He and TSO are both coming here and I wish I could go to both, or either for that matter.
Michelle - looks like you are right on track today :) Looking forward to your evening report. Impressive walk today too!
Claudette - Yippee! on the dress! Nothing better than having clothes be to big that used to fit! :D
Agnes - not a fun way to spend your day. Glad you found time for your walk.
Kathy - did you get your shopping done? I'm at a point where I won't go near the malls on the weekends now, I do it all during the day during the week when most folks are working! I plan to do some more tomorrow.
Max - any luck on the Itunes? That really sounds like a chore. I'm looking forward to the inspiration tomorrow! So glad you decided not to leave us for good. :)
Bangs - hope you are feeling better. Good news on the sore rear, well you know what I mean! Like my legs, it hurts to stand up but I have to tell myself that means I've done something right!
Hawk - sounds like you had a really nice day. Good luck on the convert. I've had the Kroger yogurt before. It's not too bad, but I prefer the Blue Bunny Carb Sense (yogurt and smoothies). Haven't had any for a while though, switched back to my shakes for a bit.
Carol - hope you start feeling better soon as well. What is it with everyone getting sick now? :( Don't over do. I think even Shadow will excuse you due to illness! That soup sounds yummy. Be sure to pass along the recipe!
Joanne - yeah for the Packers! I actually don't keep up with pro ball. Friend of mine in Buffalo (and I cannot believe the Bills won today) can't understand why I do college but not the Panthers. I don't really know either as I was a big Redskins fan (and to some extent Steelers) growing up... guess it just faded. Picked up the college thing after we moved here.
Missy - saving the best for last ;) Been missing you but I know you've been super busy. Load up on C and Zinc and don't let the little germ monsters get you sick too! I'm very pleased with you too for staying on plan! You've had a lot of temptations thrown at you and you've handled every one of them! Big KUDOS for you!
Think that covers everyone that had posted before I started typing this. If I've missed anyone I am sorry, it wasn't deliberate.
Part of my goal this month, if you recall, was to get to know the new/old folks that I don't know too well. The individual messages are helping me with that.
Oh, forgot Shadow :) Glad to see you here cheering us on! We know you're on track for where you should be today.
My totals thus far:
Protein: 135 grams
ECCs: 34 grams
Supplements: all taken
Exercise: nothing today
Water: 110 ounces so far. May be another 10 in before bed.

I think I'm done for the day, although I'll probably try to get in more protein today, since my total is low.
The walk to Walmart was wonderful, will definately do again, was wearing new shoes so my feet hurt but I'll break them in soon enough.
All in all it was a great day, back to work tomorrow and the Demons that are trying hard to destroy my mission in life. I'll try very hard to be strong and resist temptation.
Todays Totals

So, final report of the day:
Dinner was Pork Tenderloin, roasted at 500, coated with leftover Heroin Wing mixture. Wife and I both agree, Heroin Coating is better on pork than chicken, though it was damn good on chicken too.
Final stats (cept steps which might go up a little as I get ready for tomorrow and all):
PRO: 137
CHO: 34G
h2o: 1.5L Water, 1L Iced Tea, 1L Diet Coke (minus ice)
Pills: coming
Move: 8000 steps and counting.
Hope all did well.
Michelle: Good for you on step counter. I find it very motivating to track daily steps. If you are interested/decent with excel, I can send you a version of my step tracking sheet. Uses a very cool (imho) stock market style chart (high, low, average) to show progress and it ramps up weekly goal the way the Step Diet book suggests you do it.
Everyone else: hope the ill feel better, the tired get sleep, the well stay well, the mourning feel comfort and everyone else just keep on rocking in the free world (or North Korea or Iran or wherever).

Michelle, you are making such wonderful progress! What a nice avatar!
Becca, what a way to wake up!
Thank you, Joanne. I think of you often!
I'm back because I have to sit here and hand-feed the card stock into my printer every couple of minutes. I suppose I could be addressing Christmas envelopes, but this is more interesting.
I realized tonight when I ate some crackers and peanut butter :o that I've been grazing for several days and living mostly on hunter sausage, cheese, and the occasional morning shake. Time to straighten up and fly right tomorrow.
The grandblessing was over today (picked that term up from Hawk) and we had an absolutely wonderful visit. I finally finished tweaking my card design for this year and started printing them. I complicated it considerably by deciding to deckle one edge, which means I will have to cut all the fancy edges first then change the cutter blade and do the straight cuts. This keeps me from feeling guilty that I don't bake cookies.
Can't give you any accurate numbers today. Pretty much you can figure that I didn't reach any goals at all today. I even forgot to get a fbs reading this morning. I did scrub the fingerprints off the woodwork today which lowered my stress level somewhat.

Michelle (Mepc06) hi!
Thinking of you for tomorrow's challenges. . . don't know if this line of thinking would help or not . . .
Sometimes when I have been successful in combatting the temptations from other folks and their foods, I tend to think along the lines of (sort of) pitying them, that they don't really know the truth and therefore are just operating in their own misguided ways, it's nothing really personal. And I feel sorry for them in a way becuase they just keep going on in their unhealthful eating thinking all is fine, whereas I am able and willing to make healthy choices because I know the truth of the situation, being enlightened by the proven evidence of low carb.
Now, I don't want you to think I have a superiority complex or anything, (inferiority is more like it!) - it's just that the bulk of people are completely uneducated and have been brainwashed by unhealthy eating ideas and don't know any better. I always realize too that I was one of those many people during most of my life, too. Then of course, you have to allow for those few people who do intentionally want you to fail and "oh just have a little" sort of thing. Now, you REALLY don't want to give THEM the satisfaction of seeing you cave in, do you???
It's like the Eades say, you're in bootcamp, and it's plain hard work sometimes. But it doesn't last forever, remember. You've done SO WELL to this point, overall, so WHY would you really "want" to set yourself back again? For just a momentary "comfort" via a few chocolates? And then test and possibly lose your resolve? It's really not worth it, is it? when you look at the situation. I don't know about you, but I know myself it takes me a full 3 days after carb indulging to get back into fat-burning mode again internally, so that's always in the back of my mind when I am tempted to overdo my allotted carbs. It's really not worth it. And actually, you will feel better and stronger emotionally every time you can maintain your resolve. Maybe it's like building a brick wall, and every good decision of yours is just one more strong brick going into that wall. And it will get easier, too!
Sorry to wax eloquent here (just gabby) I just want to encourage you, since I've been down this road so many times myself. Believe me when I started the October challenge, I was in such sad shape that I really questioned whether I could stick to any plan, I had failed so many times, day after day.
I think after you take extra chromium for a few weeks faithfully, it really helps the cravings too. You can do this, I know it! and you CAN have a successful day tomorrow, girl:)!

Done for the day, ammended totals for the day above.
Max-I'm fairly decent on Excel, go ahead and send it to me, I am interested.
I'm going to wear the pedometer to work tomorrow and see what I do in a day. I'm up and down all day, plus my walk at lunch, and my walks around the building on breaks. I'm looking forward to see how high it goes.
Got test strips when I was at WalMart today...I'd been out for the last 10 days or so. Blood sugars since 3:00-108, 142 121....not bad at all.

Joanne in my book you are so right on! We have to work hard at most things in our life, weight loss and health are no different. Expecting anything less than a struggle on most days is optimistic.
BUT the good thing about that is on PP we can eat so many more things, and we are getting healthier doing it. WE don't need to starve ourselves we don't need to feel deprived, my bottom line I was/am an obese women. I am needing to take control of my life, so I am! And the support hmmmmm baby you guys ae awesome! Hear you loud and clear my neighbor to the north and whole heartedly agree!
Thanks, I hope everyone sees those words you wrote.

BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOO JOANNE!!!!!!!! I saw it!!!!! :D Great post my friend! I just love it when "one" of us breaks out with "words of wisdom"...for soooooooo many different reasons! :D 1. because it lets each of us know that the other has "got it"...and 2. because we all need reminding of "it" (these lessons)ourselves.....3. because it's good to hear how each of us "think" about it all! THAT was GREAT JOANNE! :D Poor Michelle probably feels like we all all mother hen'ing her....because she's the "newbie"...lol but the TRUTH of the matter is, I think we are able to focus on her because we want to take care of her...just as we were taken care of! :D I hope so anyways!
Michelle, more power to ya!
Becca! I appreciate being saved till last! :D I TOTALLY agree with you about how to get to know others is to post to THEM....it works brilliantly. It's as if you are sitting down talking specifically to them and saying "Hi! How are you today?"
Carol, yep, bug. But, I think I'm treading water with it thus far...and I felt like I was getting better instead of worse. So, that's a good sign. I have to get myself in BEST of shape possible today...so I can go back to the little ones tomorrow and REAAAAAAAAALLY GET SICK! lol   Deckled edge, sounds lovely! I'm sure they are spectacular! You more then make up for baking I'm SURE!
Okay, not going to answer TOO MUCH HERE...cause this was YESTERDAY!

I'm back from the mini-retreat I led this weekend. Didn't do badly on the eating front, but didn't get in any exercise. Did walk around the grounds of the retreat center, but that was leisurely, not exercise. Driving 7 hours each way was exhausting! I'll skim the last three days posts later.
Here's Sunday stats:
Protein 103
ECC 47
Water yes
suppl yes, except niacin I forgot to take with me
exercise no

I went to Krogers yesterday and found something I never saw before. I don't know if it is new or not. It is a yogurt (cultured lowfat dairy blend) I was not thrilled with the low fat, but 6 oz includes 12 grams of whey protien and has three net carbs.(4 and one fiber) 80 calories..sweetened with splenda!!! I cannot use aspartame. Called Carb Master.
Wonderful you could find a yogurt you can eat. Carb Master is not new and everytime I go into Krogers I hold my breath, just hoping it hasn't been discontinued like so many low carb products. IMHO it's the best low carb fruit-flavoured yogurt around.

Thanks, Lita, I don't know how you do it, either.
I didn't even know BC had left to lead another conference. BC, did you ever get your presentation board replaced? You might have taken only a stroll, but a stroll is better than a sit! Sounds like they might have had some protein this time?
Missy, I hope you just have a mild case; you're too busy to get sick! ;)

Carol - I'm afraid I miss a lot ;). But... somehow I think my employers expect me to work while I'm here too ...
