Hi, I'm back after a couple of years. I was always able to lose bodyfat on Atkins and PP and then gain it back when I returned to my old carb habits.:(

I'm getting older (70, soon to be 71) and I don't know how many times I can backslide before it's too late. I posted in the Amazing Stories section because I plan on having an amazing story in the near future!

To get a good start I've rejoined the PP Forum and am determined to make it permanent this time. My health is good with good cholesterol readings, no diabetes and excellent blood pressure. Just about 30 pounds too heavy, heartburn again:eek: and harder to climb stairs or tie my shoes.

I'm looking forward to enjoying this lifestyle again. I see the PP website has changed quite a bit since I was here last under a different screen name.

Thanks for the support! I've lost a couple of pounds already and my heartburn is gone. Doing fine energy wise, just some mild carb cravings which I'm ignoring.

Just a quick update, I haven't been posting but I read the forum quite a bit. Still sticking to this WOE. My weight loss has been very slow but I also take medication for low thyroid. I understand from my Internet research that thyroid patients often have a hard time losing any weight. I'm 8 pounds away from my goal and I'm thinking of revising the goal downward another 10 pounds after I reach my goal and hold it for a few months.

Still slow going but maybe it's better than too fast. Today I'm 2 pounds from my goal. I plan to stay on the same WOE after I reach my goal since I'm seldom hungry so I will probably lose some more until my body decides where it wants to be. My energy is high and I feel great. I don't get out of breath climbing steep hills and I can easily tie my shoes without feeling that "gut" in the way. I've gone from a 41" waist to 36". I want to be at 34" or less.
