You will never change your life until you change something you do daily.
(Mike Murdock)
Getting closer to half-way point.
How are you all doing? I've been considering giving up recording things in fitday, but then I'd have to carry around a notebook and counter, so, in order to continue reporting, guess I'm committed to using that facility.
Yesterday's counts were not entirely accurate, as I didn't put the items in until this morning, and may have missed something (especially the yogurt-dill sauce on the kebab - which I couldn't figure out how to put in).

Hey troupers! We are getting close to half way point and I believe we have most of the troup in tact which is amazing! If we can put a second half together like the first half of October well Bingbaddaboom indeed!
And what has been so fun about it is picking up new people along the way, AZsue and Joanne and Peachy comes to mind! So glad you are here!
We have some incredible privates working their way to general, Bangs, Peachy, Lizi, Lisa, Belfrybat, Gabriel, Missy, Joanne, AZSue, Abbey, Gitfiddle, Kpow, (ahmmm Kpow quit driving around in the new car and get here women!) Becca, CMCole, Hawkster, Virginia, popprincess, Oceanblue--where are you?, Claudette, I think that is everyone if not I will be rightfully chastized! Mitra, Sherry and Shadow pop into see how we are doing...or what we are dong!:paranoid:
So many times people don't stay with something, and YOU have! That is just the best! If anyone wants to give half way reports, please feel free to check into base and do it! Feelings? Clothes? Weight or measurements if you want to? What you eating? What is making it work for you?
Definitely felt pretty crummy yesterday and was sick most of the night, so tea for me today, lets start there! Yes there lots of bugs around, my staff of only 10 people have sinus infection, conjuntivitis they caught from one of the kids, asthma, and stomach flu bugs...change of seasons sometimes get us!
Alrighty onward and upward! Have a great Saturday WHO-HA...or whatever those Marines shout! :D

morning everyone :) I spent all day sitting around with a huge bunch of my friends eating.. and we made friends with the waiter, so he managed to get me a huge big bowl of lamb souvlaki chunks with tzatziki dipping sauce to eat while everyone else had sticky date pudding. All the guys were jealous, but I think I'm a better flirt than they are, so no extra meat for them! :)
I'm off to bed!
Protein: 120ish
ECC: 40ish
Supps: yes
Water: 6L
Exercise: day off 5/5 days completed

By the way, my inches lost for our halfway update is 4.5 off various points of my midsection. I'll save any weightloss til monday because that's my "official" weigh in day for the week, I track it most days, but monday is the time or truth for giving stats.

Just popping in to say Hi. I donated blood this morning and my BP is down to 126/84 from 130/98 when I last gave in April! Still not where it was for me for so many years (up til about 3 years ago I was a stead 110/70) but it's improving.
I am starving this morning, been up since 7:30 and have done so much running around I haven't had a chance to eat yet!
Be back later....

Good Morning! Honestly, I HATE to be away from the computer for any length of time and MISS OUT on posts! lol It takes just as much time to read up and then add at length! But, it's just so much darn FUN and enjoyable...and this has been THE BEST group of supporter's that I've been involved with. Not only are were "DOING" the right plan, and well, I may add....but we ARE having such fun at it!
This morning, got up and made me a three egg omlette with boursin cheese in it. Yummy. And Amish bacon....and alot of that ol bacon TOO!!! :D Usually my morning meal is a PP drink...so when I DO cook something I like to go for it!
And, this weekend, thanks to HAWK's inspiration, I'm on a new misson of majorly cleaning out and up my spare room "inventory" of craft crap. It can always be SUCH a MESS!!! Anyways we are making that room be where we keep our new engraving machine too. So, time to make that room "work" for us better instead of just being the "catch all".
Okay....half way point...almost...and for me...lol shy a couple of days...cause I didn't conform right away! :D
But...I'm TOTALLY and COMPLETELY thrilled with the progress so far...and it doesn't have ANYTHING to do with weight or inches! I still don't care. I'm just totally pleased with myself and my continued determination. FAR more powerful then willpower. I think a real eye opener for me was to "feel" how quickly my body responded to coming off the carbs again...it was within days. Now, I'm feeling it at the waist, knee's, and underarm areas. And...my I KNOW my boobage is going from a 48DD to 56 long :jawDrop: DAMN IT!!!!!!! :peeved: It's at the crepe paper stage ALREADY! ~ Although....I must tell you...as WEIRD as that looks...lol....It's TOTALLY facsinating me!!!
My face is even showing more wrinkles.... I must say, fat does make one look plump, in a good way.
CM...give up the fitday. You'd be surprised, you don't have to carry that book around...well...for long. You'll find that it doesn't take long to do it by hand. I don't have all that highly detail stuff on most days...and eventually you'll find once you've figured it...you can keep your own personal cheat sheet. I think you'll eventually find it quite easy. Easier then fit day. BUT....either way. I support whatever you choose.
Oh ABBEY! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO into charming waiter and waitress's. Being friendly and helping them ease their experience with you often leads to a fun eating out experience for everyone. lol Especially when I'm going to be a royal pain in the butt asking them how to specifically have my food prepared! lol
Billie, I hope your feeling better and back on track soon! Thanks for still "hangin" in there with us even if your under the weather. Who'm I kiddin....COMA would have to happen to drag ME away!!!!
I vote that the October Challenge goes to INFINITY AND BEYYYYYYYYYYOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO needs an "end" date....besides, I'm so excited to watch all of my fellow supporters make it to ZERO and disappear! :D
It's the absentee reporting in!
I guess you guys thought I had fallen head-first into a mound of butter pecan ice cream, didn't you? Well, no, I did not. Last weekend was the out of town wedding, then I couldn't get online all week. I, um, took a trip to visit the casino gods on Thurs. and Fri. and got in late last night, or should I say early this morning.
My eating was not perfect, but it was way better than it could have been with all of the temptations I was presented with at the wedding reception and then in the buffet lines at Tunica. I was rewarded with another loss of 2 pounds when I stepped on the scales this morning. Yay! :D :D
One of the things I have discovered this time around is that I think I was shorting myself on my protein consumption, so I have tried to up the protein grams. By George, I think it's working! :)
There are more challenges coming. I have a newcomer's reception this evening at church (a must-attend function since I'm the president of the church council), then a surprise birthday party tomorrow for a relative. I'm determined to continue with the self-control instead of caving in. Watch out all you proteins and good veggies. You will not be safe around me!
Great jobs, everyone! (and Billie, get better soon)

hope you feel better Billie.
my plan for today is a little shopping - not necessarily buying, but shopping. I haven't bought new clothes since I started in PPLP Jan 29 - 40+ lbs ago. So I thought I'd go see what size I fit into in stores. I need some new slacks for work (definitely !!) but I find if I go with the mindset that I have to find X - I'll just get frustrated. So I'm just going to go look and try on. I'll report back later :)

Well, I have to head out soon to do some stuff. But here are my numbers so far...
Pro: 67 g
ECC: 25 g
Exercise: 35 min on treadmill...running/jogging 20 min of that
Supps: took AMs, need to take PMs tonight
H2O: same old story:o
I wish I could take a nap. I'm so tired. I haven't been getting much sleep because I'm juggling a zillion things right now. Tomorrow is DS#2's bday party...tonight I have to cut up all the fruit & veggies and do the last minute touches on the house. I think I'm seriously going to consider having the boys bday parties somewhere other than my house! I don't seem to have much time to keep it how I like it.
Well...crawling away due to exhaustion....

back from shopping - since I was just looking and trying on I went to Macy's - tried on some Jones New York suits - much to my surprise the 16 pants were loose & the jacket buttoned. Tried some 14 separate slacks - buttoned & zipped & sat down - but they were "bulgy" - like potatoes in a sack :) so not quite yet. It does explain why my 24W and 22W pants are falling off though :D Tried a L(arge) button up blouse/shirt - it was tight in the arms/shoulders - but probably would fit by Christmas. The lovely cashmere size L sweaters worked just fine though - no XL needed - new bra needed but sweater size was fine.
All in all - very encouraging. I may go out again tomorrow and actually buy something.

Ohhhhh, Missy! I was reading birthday cards the other day... one was of a cartooned "old harried woman"... who was bent over looking at her feet, hair in curlers, ratty ol' robe, etc. you get the picture? The words on the front of the card said, "Remember, you are a temple..." and the inside said...
"Even if your steeples point DOWN!!!"
Ohhhh, okay! Now, YOU are laughing as hard as I am... and, we're BOTH going to kicked out of here! :p

Hi, y'all,
Back on track today.
I went shopping today since I had birhday money and a 10% off coupon from my favorite store. I bought a beautiful grey silk suit with lace blouse on sale in a size smaller! They fit now and when they get too loose, I will just have them altered since they are classics. I also picked up a v necked cotton "t" shirt in a size smaller. Whoopie, I am so excited.
The scale hasn't moved, but I am loosing inches like crazy since I started the resistance work and everything is looking "toned".

Omigawd! I SO agree!!! Missy, the Pepsi'd have hit the screen if I had any. You are Too Funny, woman!
Since I've never had boobage to begin with I can't say that losing changed anything "up there." BUTT, I have to say I'm wondering if I'm the only one here who has a double chin on their HEINIE:eek: ?? What the heck is that all about???
Claudette, a smaller size! Now how fab is that! Happy Birthday!
Lisa, you too, fitting in smaller clothes! (I do the same--just can't bring myself to buy something the first time out.)
And Abbey, 4.5 inches!
I am SO jazzed for each of you.
38g fiber for 28 ECC - wow! what did you eat for fiber today (if I may ask). I was just checking my totals and my fiber counts are really low
Lisa, I made a coupla "pancakes" yesterday for breakfast which gave me a head start on fiber, and then one later as a snack. For each, about 1 T. coconut flour, 1T acacia powder, one egg, coconut milk, vanilla, apple pie spice, pinch of baking powder, liquid spenda--about 11gr fiber each, I think.
Liz, I think a kid birthday "away" from the house is worth every single penny extra it might cost. You take care and get some rest, ok?
kpow, you're doing great, especially considering the tempting circumstances. Good going
Sherry, I love it when stop by to cheer us on :)
Bille, hope you are ok and starting to feel better.

I'm one of the pooped group today....much running around and too little accomplishment to show for it, but all the little things add up, I suppose. I ran out of steam when I was out this afternoon (like Becca this am did) and had to have a double latte. For medicinal purposes only, you understand. :D I worked it in, carbwise, however.....at least, so far!

Personally, I'm not going to BOTHER measuring myself...because right now everything I GOT is drooping...and THAT makes measurements CHANGE (increase) EVERYWHERE!!! I mean, as the boobs flatten and go LOWER...it INCREASES the waist! I can't WIN!!! I think I'll just measure my forehead! :peeved: lol

Sherry, oh yeah!!!! ----there's snorting Pepsi, and then there's snorting Pepsi with LIME. I gotta say, the Lime gives snorting a whole new dimension, a certain devil may care risk factor, like bungie jumping nekkid. I may have to demean myself drinking, ugh, WATER, rather than risk my pristine nasal cavities....
Remember the song when we were kids?
Do your B***'s hang low, do they wobble to and fro, etc.
I won't say the rest, lest I be permanently banned! ROFL!!
Missy girl, as long as you're feeling great, no need to measure anything anyway.

I do feel great....:D and I'll just DEAL with myself as I happen! Right?!
I'm tellin ya though, crepe paper boobage is quite interesting. lol I'm already getting those crepe paper lines too in my neck/chin area too.
Okay, here are my totals:
Protein: ONLY 64.1! So, I've "fixed" that when I saw it, and made me a double protein drink...and that took it to 100.1...so now I have to find me some MORE....Dr. Gabe said good protein is best, MEAT protein, not cheesy, nutty protein. So, that's what I'll go looking for.
ECC: 24
Water: Yep
Supps: Yep
Exercise: What do YOU think? lol
I thought I had a good start to the day with a three egg, loads of bacon breakfast...but I skipped through lunch and had an early dinner. We had some chicken sausages from Whole Paycheck tonight, and when I went to do my totals for the day...I was surprised to see that my protein count was WAY down! I'm so accustom to that double protein powdered drink in the morning that I see not having it somewhere during the day hurts my counts considerably. I have to get 138 in per day.... minimum.
So...off to find me 38 more.

Well, reading today's posts certainly made me chuckle. Especially since I'm in a similar boat boobely wise. Had a great day today in many ways. Have been preparing tomorrow's sermon (usually have it done mid-week, but with the trip I took, I'm running late), and caught up on some long delayed correspondence. I had planned on IFing today, but ended up breaking the fast at lunch. I had a bunch of cauliflower to blanch and freeze, so I ended up making veggie mush with ground beef. (like fauxtaters, but with all sorts of veggies along with the cauliflower and then sauteed with ground beef). Delish!
Here's my stats:
Protein 97
ECC 52
water yes
supp yes (or at least will be when I take the evening dose)
excercise no -- it rained today so the road was too muddy to walk

Still not feeling real great and kind of scared to eat...and at our house protein gets pushed!
Kathy so good to have you back, yes you go for the good protein and veggies that is an order sistah!
Lisa and Claudette, how wonderful! Isn't that just the most fun thing, oh my Lisa 22s and 24s and now down to 14, you go! Claudette the grey suit sounds so lovely, it sounds like something I could imagine you wearing I love it!

My face is even showing more wrinkles.... I must say, fat does make one look plump, in a good way.
I've always said that fat girls don't get wrinkles. I've got a "deflated" chin and at 56, I'm not going to see it retract any time soon. I just refer to it as my TROPHY. I look wierd in a turtleneck, though. :peeved:
You women literally have me in tears tonight. All this progress! I went shopping today and bought slacks two sized smaller than usual, although to be fair, they were cut roomy. All I want is to buy clothes that I don't have to shorten. Why do they think that if you're this big around that you must be seven feet tall? :p
I'm editing to say that my stats are not good today; I may be a little short on protein because I had three cups of coffee with cream for breakfast (over four hours). Didn't get my lecithin and fish oil because I didn't have the usual breakfast shake. Water's good. My exercise was walking throught the mall to buy new clothes and I'm limping just from that. I bought another pair of the Finn Comfort shoes that help so much--and this pair wasn't on sale!

Reporting in and trying to watch the Gators and the Tigers in the other room all at the same time....
I have discovered something, if I go too long w/out eating (like this morning) or wait til I'm hungry to eat I binge (might be on low/non carb foods, but still it's a binge). I'll eat what seems to be a reasonable amount of food, have my water and such and within 30-60 minutes it's like I never ate and that goes on for several hours.
My totals don't include my dinner. The birthday folks got to pick where we went and they decided on Fire Mountain (one of those all you can eat buffet things for those that don't know). That put me in a bit of a panic as my favorite things there are pizza, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, rolls and dessert. I actually did okay I think, just don't know amounts to add to my totals. I had a salad (ceasar w/ boiled eggs no croutons), some steak, broiled salmon, some seasoned (they seemed to have been cooked on the grill actually) green beans, followed with sugar free (but not marked as low carb so I'm sure there was some) pudding/mousse thing with carb free whipped topping. That left a "too sweet" (getting to be my thing) aftertaste so I went back for some pieces of cheese and a small scoop of peanuts. Also had TONS of water. For once I left there not feeling like I was blown up like a balloon (unlike hubby who is in the other room feeling miserable) yet I could tell I'd eating and was satisfied.
I'm so proud of me! :D
Anyways... the rest of the day amounted to:
Protein 78 grams
ECCs 34 (so I'm sure dinner put me a bit over my goal)
Supplements morning doses only
Water yes and then some
Driving back up to Clemson to return my son tomorrow and will hopefully drag hubby to Whole Foods (I loved my stop by Friday) and maybe actually buy something this time.
Off to cheer for the Gators (I cannot believe I'm doing that).

Happy birthday, Becca! :)
We went to a GF's for my birthday dinner, and she LOVES to cook... Italian! Soooo, I ate, and enjoyed... and have noticed with IF that I don't crave, nor do I gain the next day... All is well.

Actually not my birthday Sherry but thanks for the sentiment. My son's was 2 weeks ago and my daughter's this past Thursday. Tonight was the "go out to dinner to 'celebrate'" night since he was home for the weekend.
We went to Ruby Tuesday's on my b-day last month.
I'm off to bed. Crossing my fingers for a good weigh-in/measurement check tomorrow morning.

Hey BeccainSC!
How'd you like the Gators Tigers game? Did the right one win? I was sort of pulling for Auburn! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Southern football!;)
Here are my totals. I got a little high on protein today but I figured calories (the dreaded C word), and I ate fish twice today, so calorie-wise I was just fine, even though the protein was higher. I had some nice steamed cauliflower with a little butter and parmesan cheese and garlic topping, too!
protein = 100
carbs = 30
water = 88
supps = yep
exercise = 20 min walk (I know, too much college football)
Going off to bed soon. It's STILL too cold up here for this time of year!

The throwdown became almost a 'throw away'. I have to say, the actual recipe from one of Emeril's book just didn't work. Fortunately, there were witnesses that saw the cakes not rising at all!
Anyway, I have the recipe for a normal Bonnie Butter cake down to the T (see pictures) so I made that thinking that we could still use the custard, which was really good. Well, the cakes were perfect, really! Taste, shape, smell... every bit as yumy and good as cakes made from scratch are. We sliced them and got the 4 layers of cake and custard and left it in the refrigerator to chill. We thought we'd had dinner and glace it later. Great thus far... or so we thought...
Oh surprise... the whole thing just fell apart!! :crybaby: I guess the custard was too 'wet' for the fluffy and spngy cake. Maybe the way to go could've been to actually chill the cake before slicing it or chill the layers before spreading the custard. I wanted to throw it away but they didn't let me! At least we all agreed that it would've been a waste of time to make the chocolate glace. There's always next time huh!;)
It tastes just great, though... Yes, I had to taste it and all the points go to that department. Later tonight, I took it out of the refrigerator and did some surgery. I trimmed it so now it looks round and more like a cake; won't glace it though :) 'Nough drama now.
Okay... that piece of cake tonight probably made my carbs jump all the way to 40-50 ECC and I'll probably see that tomorrow with some water retention.
The counts for today were:
Protein: 83 g
ECC: 50 g
Exercise: afternoon walk with Polly
Water: close to 1 L (I know, I know... )
Supplements: not today

Hey BeccainSC!
How'd you like the Gators Tigers game? Did the right one win? I was sort of pulling for Auburn! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Southern football!;)
I only saw the last quarter (which is really all that ever matters ultimately) but it was very intense. And the wrong team won. I'm not sure if it was an East vs West thing or if it was because "we" (the real USC) had already played (and lost) to Auburn and we still need to play Florida (Spurrier returning to the Swamp will be interesting) that I wanted Florida to do well.
I read an interesting article this morning that basically said SEC teams don't have much hope to go for national titles because the conference is just too good - nearly impossible to go undefeated with Florida, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, etc... playing against each other. Ah well.
My son spent the day on the couch watching all the football. I think all the right ACC teams won (to his Clemson mind) at least.

Peahy except for the water you had a GREAT Day! And your description of the National Geograhpic type pictures are just too cute!
Gitfiddle, that is agreat in the slacks--hey women even if they are baggy, they are still 2 sizes SMALLER, now that in any one's books is a keeper! Good for you! Sorry that your feet are hurting from the walking. Wondering if you could do some light resistance at home, like some small dumb bells, even watching TV, that might be an answer instead of walking or cardio. Something to think about?!!
Becca, GREAT GOING at Fire Mountain, I am so proud of you too! What a great birthday gift to give your son and daughter, mom's persistance and consistent drive to good health.
One thing, your weight may take a day or two to stablize, while you did great, something those buffets use a little more sodium than home cooking does, so you may have some water staying with you, not to Worrry! Drive safe, enjoy Whole Foods if you go and isn't having our kids home for the weekend just wonderful!!!
Joanne your protein is fine, the amount are the MINIMUM so don't ever feel bad about eating protein! You did great! And yes it is darn cold!!! We had a fire yesterday afternoon outside while I was cleaning up the summer plants, it was beautiful but on the crisp side!
Bangs, Water maybe? What is Water, maybe? That is like I am a little bit pregnant!! You had a great day, down on YOUR fiber but your standards are really high there (love it) so a day off isn't going to be terrible as most of the time you are in the commendable range, day off for exercise, well no noodles there either!!
Lisa, naps are such a treat! I didn't sleep at all on Friday night so I was very tired yesterday and took maybe a 5 minute nap when all the throw down cake competition heated up! But it was worth not sleeping! You are doing marvelouuus darling! :)
I am feeling better, have a head ache this AM, probably because I didn't eat much at all yesterday, so noodling is not going on, I would have to noodle myself! But feeling better.
The throw down event was just nice. Gabe and I had dated for 8 years or so before we got married but I still am so happy when he and my boys spend some time together doing whatever, I just let them be. I am sure there is another challenge in the near future!

Thanks Bangs! I made that particular one for a dinner with our neighbors and they liked it very much. Billie named that case 'cloud cake' or something... catchy name I think if I decide to start making cakes for sale!

I suffered a "gotcha" on Saturday - I tried a new receipe for LC lasagne (no pasta) that was advertised as 4 carbs. Well, when I entered the receipe into my program this morning, the carb count came out as 10 g. So, there's a lesson - always enter a new receipe in the program before trying it - just in case! It was pretty good lasagne, by the way, but not exceptional.
Protein: 96
Carbs: 37 ECC
Supplements: forgot to take my lunch dose
Water: I'm not sure - I didn't keep count in my journal
Exercise: 45 min on elliptical trainer
I think I need to work harder at journaling my intake when I eat. I didn't write down anything yesterday. I fear I'm getting too complacent and I must be more vigilant! Note to self - you are on probabation this week!

Perhaps the counts in your program were before subtracting fibre, whereas your original source had already subtracted it?

AZSue, those little glitches happen. I remember a while ago I thought I was eating something, I can't even recall now what it was at XX amount of ECCs and when I took a closer look it was about double what I had been eating. Bummer! But you caught it and can go from there!
Journaling is difficult, for some it works well for others drudgery, i seem to fall right in the middle. But if you are already then putting it in might be your ticket!

  OH! NOW I HAVE A NEW GOAL TO ACHIEVE!!!! :D :D :D Girl, sounds like you need a drool bucket...and some diapers! lol
okay, on a more serious note. I have come to TOTALLY appreciate journaling...because it's something I took for grated the first time around...and I'll bet I was very inaccurate....I know myself, and I'm very good to myself....so if I think I can take an inch it ends up really being that mile. Journalling makes the TOTAL difference.
Dr Eades little gram counting booklet is GREAT!
