So far it is not going well. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong? I'm almost positive I'm not. Using the calculation method in the book I came to these numbers:

230 lbs
172 lbs lean body mass
58 lbs fat

220 lbs
165 lbs lean body mass
55 lbs fat

Today
212 lbs
159 lbs lean body mass
53 lbs fat

It would seem I've lost 5 pounds of fat and 13 pounds of muscle. I've been eating at least the required amount of protein each day, usually more. I don't go to the gym, but I do a body weight regime 3 times a week. I've noticed a large decrease in the amount of pushups I can do from 1 month ago compared to now. Not sure if that's due to muscle loss or lack of carbs. Where could the problem be??

Just an opinion here--but I would suspect your calculations-- a low carb diet is THE muscle sparing diet of choice for athletes, I seriously doubt that the muscle loss you are describing is acurate.
as to the push up issue--it can take up to 6 weeks to adapt to fat burning as fuel instead of carb burning-- once you do adapt your performance will be as before or better.

I used the method listed in the book to figure my lean body mass.

I can't seem to find my measurements from a month ago. Here is from 2 weeks ago and then a few days ago -

weight 220
waist 41.25
wrist 7.75

weight 211
waist 40
wrist 7.25

We also need your height and activity level--like do you do regular gym type or cardio exercising how many times a week for how many minutes. Or do not do exercising yet, that all has to be factored in on your protein requirement. How much protein a day is your minimum and how many ECCs of Carbs are you eating? That sounds like a tremendous loss of weight even for this program, and I just am trying to make sure you are eating what you should be.

there is one odd thing that I noticed in you measurements--your wrist measurement is different in the 2 sets--by a whopping 1/2 inch. the wrist measurement should be the constant--its why it is used--no fat on the bone there. I seriously doubt that you lost 1/2 inch of fat off your wrist in 2 weeks! LOL! so... one of the measurements is inaccurate--and that would defintiely throw off your body fat percentage calculation.
