O.K. I am still in search of a decent tasting protein powder drink to use when I do not take in enough protein foods. I can't use soy for a couple of different reasons and so many of them have this as an ingredient. I read a few comments here about Whey Gourmet and checking the ingredients it does not "sound" bad except for it states that it has:Phophatidyl Choline (from soya lecithin)....is this a soy product??? I am not real up on that!!!
Also wondered what thought of the taste??? I know everyone is different, but if more like it...well, the chances are better of liking it.... I use to like the Gold standard protein (although expensive) but turns out it has soy blended with its proteins, although I guess not alot (6 different proteins) I am kinda leary of it now, not so much for the thyroid issue..but for the fact that I need nothing to stimulate any more estrogen at this point.
Thanks for all info.

hey there sweetpoison!
I have started using it in 2 flavors, the white chocolate and the chocolate mousse. Can you tell I like chocolate?!! I think it tastes pretty good. I can get Hood's low carb milk here, so I use it in either plain or chocolate, mix 4 oz. of that with water, and then the heaping scoop of powder. It gets fairly thick mixed that way. It doesn't mix really easily, you have to stir a fair amount to get rid of most lumps. Otherwise, I would recommend it taste-wise. Back in the day, I used Nestle's Sweet Success mix, and I thought that tasted much better than Slim fast, but I can't get Nestle's anymore and that was before the PP days, so I don't know what if any bad stuff it might have in it.
So for now I like Whey Gourmet enough to keep using it. Other people here probably know a lot more about it than I do . . .
Have a good weekend!

I've been using Whey Gourmet off and on for a while now. Not sure about the ingredient issue, but I do enjoy the taste.
I've tried the caramel, mint choc chip (awesome with an extra little dash of peppermint essence) and the raspberries and cream (never had that without adding a couple of real raspberries). I either put it in a blender or a manual shaker and have had no issues with lumps or bits not dissolving. I think it needs more agitation than just stirring though.
However, my real issue with them is the cost. I can get a plainer, lower carb shake mix (Redbak WPI) and just doctor it up to my tastes for less than half the price. I did get a good deal on the 3 I've tried, which is why I tried them :)

I don't use Whey Gourmet but I have been using ON's 100% Any Whey Protein. I got it at my local health food store when I realized my local GNC didn't have any Whey protein available at the time without a lot of carbs. ON appears to be Optimum Nutrition and they have a website based off of that name.
It is 17g protein and 1g carb per scoop (20.5g). It has a very slight taste of vanilla in liquids/liquid foods although I really don't consider it vanilla flavored. I've added it to solid-liquid foods like cottage cheese and do need to add a bit of spice to the cottage cheese to offset the slight vanilla taste out of it.
Label ingredients are protein blend (whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, whey protein hydrolysate), natural flavor, lecithin.
I tried the stuff in cheesecake when I was on a 40/30/30 calorie plan and I really couldn't notice it at all...although I smoked then and my tastebuds weren't all that vigorous. Now that I stopped smoking I notice a slight vanilla taste.

I've had the small packages of it and it was good.
I also had the Whey Gourmet Lemon Lime cooler in the summer. Not too bad, but better mixed in the blender with water, than just shaken in the container.
