in PP, the Eades say not to worry about how much 'healthy' fat you ingest, as your body will use it as fuel. but what if your body is already fueled and you ingest more fat? does it just get stored away like a carbohydrate would? i mean, if its not being used for energy, what else would it do?

sorry if this is a silly question...but i'm just not quite clear on how this works. :)

Maybe a good question to ask back is what do you mean by healthy fats? And how do you know you are getting enough healthy ones or not using them? When you look say at fitday after you enter in your eating for the day, and see the little pie chart, you can see the actual percentages. What always amazes me is what I used to eat--It must have been all carbs in my past life.

Bottom line and you may need more of an answer than I have time to give but someone else will jump in, is that if you are eating your protein requirements based on the formulas and exercising, there is no way you could be getting too much fat, healthy or otherwise.

If you snack on large quantities of nuts and cheese you might get more fat than you're burning. At one point, I think I managed to do it by being excessively liberal with the double cream!

If your carbs are very low, then there's little insulin about, and you probably won't store much fat (but you won't lose until you're eating less than your body is burning, forcing it to burn up some reserves) but if you're eating slightly higher carb levels then I would think the excess would be stored.

For most people this is only an issue as you get close to your goal weight.
