"I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning to sail my ship."
Louisa May Alcott

Life is anything but smooth sailing. As a matter of fact, the water can get down right choppy on occasion. Like it or not, we are going to encounter a number of storms throughout our life adventure.

Some of these storms will blow through rather quickly; while others tend to hang around for what seems like forever. There will always be some people who prefer to play it safe in life. By remaining in port, anchored close to the shore, they feel insulated from the stormy seas outside of the harbor. But they fail to realize that just like the ship that remains docked at the pier, they will eventually rust out from below. A ship was made for sailing — and so were you.

We all know it’s risky to pull out of the harbor and set sail into unfamiliar waters. And it takes courage to lose sight of the shore and boldly sail into the seas beyond. There’s always a chance that you’ll encounter stormy waters. But who’s to say that the storm won’t find it’s way into the harbor anyway.

Lets Set sail today — and setourselves free to live the life we've always imagined. Get off the beach and get right into the water...our lfie is waiting for us!

Have a great day everyone!

one of many excellent quotes from a favorite source:
"A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are built for. Sail out to sea and do new things."
-- Grace Murray Hopper

It occurred to me that some might not know who Grace Hopper was. Rear Adm. Hopper was a pioneer in computer programming - and a pioneer for women in the Navy and in the workforce.
a short bio: http://www.sdsc.edu/ScienceWomen/hopper.html

her humor: http://cs-www.cs.yale.edu/homes/tap/Files/hopper-wit.html

we owe much of what we have today in opportunity and computing to Adm. Hopper. The concepts of compilers, COBOL and other languages, and Information Systems to a large extent came from Adm. Hopper.

another quote: "Humans are allergic to change. They love to say, 'We've always done it this way.' I try to fight that. That's why I have a clock on my wall that runs counter-clockwise."
