Yeah, yeah... I know... Been a while.

Advice for the guys: Never, EVER, no matter how good an idea it seems at the time, date a stripper. Even an ex-stripper.

She moved in, her cat moved in (I'm allergic) and she then insisted that I cook for her. Food that she liked. While she occupied MY couch with MY clicker. Can't scream at them. They expect it. And they're better at it than you are. Can't hit 'em, because that's just not nice. Can't bury 'em in the backyard without special zoning... Argh. Took six months until that was over. I sorta miss the cat.

Then where I worked turned into Job From Hell, and all that... I've gained about 40ish over my low, but I'm still about 70 from the high, so I think I've generally done okay... On hiatus from work right now, basically figuring on getting my head together (and eventually hunt for another job...).

I'm also gonna be taking care of the new girlfriend (actually about a year now... and she smiles...).

If you EVER have a friend or relative who is considering gastric bypass surgery, lock them in your basement, and throw in a slice or two of beef jerky every few hours for a while... They'll quit whining eventually... Gotta be safer, easier, more healthy... 19 months ago, before I knew her, Jen had it done in St. Louis. Started having problems after about six months... Lots of pain, throwing up, etc... First week in August, she went in to Mizzou to get stuff fixed. Four hours of surgery turned into 9 hours, and 4 days in the hospital is thus far about 18... Peritonitis, pancreatitis, lotta pain, etc... She's out, with a foot-long stapled incision, Penrose and JP drains, and a J-tube liquid feeding dealie, and may get some of it out next week. Guys, there are EASIER and more fun ways to lose weight...

Now I gotta buy another blender... Mine has died (again...). Any recommendations?

BOGIE!!! Welcome home, man!!! Ohhhh, it's good to see you...

Sorry about the cat... and about Jen's nightmare... bleck! But, how wonderful of you to take care of her...

I don't know about the blender... but, if I recall correctly, there was a thread about them lately... maybe do a search?

Now... how 'bout one of those omlettes you always used to have? Sounds good about now, as it LOOKS and FEELS like SNOW here!!!

Great to have you home...

Hey, Bogie, good to 'see' you again.
BTW, man, what *is* the average mortality rate for your blenders? ;)
Did you ever try the Waring Drink Master (you know, the one with the metal canister and high end motor that they use in bars...) Or maybe a Vita-Mix. I know, ridiculously expensive, but at the rate that you bring conventional blenders to their knees, a Vita-Mix might pay for itself over time.

Glad you found the group again. Welcome back!

Actually, I've got a Vita-Mix I was thinking about putting on ebay... pm me with an email addy, and I can have Mr. Wonderful take a pic, and I'll send it... if you want!

I'm going to try a smoothie machine - I tend to throw a lot of ice in the shakes...

Also, Jen's deaf, and I think that one of the reasons she's had problems is that she didn't adequately understand everything the quacks told her... And due to an abusive former husband (who alternatively claims that she isn't really deaf, or that God is punishing her... argh... Bogie hateses the rollerses, he does...), she was VERY hesitant to ask questions for clarification... She's growing out of that, but slowly...

Plus, she's a serious food addict... I mean, in the hospital recovering from the surgery, she was watching the cooking channel... ARGH! After the tube comes out, she's going to be on shakes only for a couple of months. Fun part is that she _thought_ that the stuff was mixed with tap water, or just drank straight from a can. Unchilled. Last month, when I mixed up a bogieshake, she was freaked that I added ice and half/half... And it didn't taste horrid!
