Well I stalled as long as possible but since I'm getting ready to leave for the hospital I decided to go ahead and be first again!:p

I moved and shook the pilates way this morning. So relaxing and yet yes a workout, I did sweat! lol For those of you wondering.... I use Rael System 27 pilates DVD and love it. His voice is really soothing. lol It's about 50 min long.

Ok so who else is up and at em today?
Ally:D

I'm up, but haven't gotten to the "at 'em" part yet, LOL!

Ally, thanks for the heads up on Rael... I like him the best of any of the Pilates instructors I've watched... I'm working on his "7", and appreciate your guidance in that direction!

Got my walk in today, such as it was. I was encouraged that the discomfort is dimished and I actually got up enough speed to put my heart rate up. I was patting myself on the back when I was overtaken and passed by a co-worker who was really making tracks. Oh well, one day at a time! :D

See y'all tomorrow!

Carol - Yeah for you! And not to worry, you'll soon be leaving that co-worker behind in the dust :D! Besides, this gives you a goal to aim for so it's a good thing, right :p?

Don't feel bad, Carol--I once heard a clanking noise behind me, and shortly thereafter was passed by an older gentleman using a walker. Just being "out there" puts us waaaaay ahead of the crowd. :D

A few years back I had a friend who I used to walk with and I remember... I NEVER could keep up with her! lol My knees have always held me back from walking too fast but this lady has Rhumetoid(sp?) Arthritus but she could still walk ciricles around me no matter how skinny and fit I was! lol My legs were very much longer than hers also, we made such a funny pair walking lol.... Don't give up! Keep your own pace and you will STILL be rewarded!:)

Hi, everyone! Shadow, Sherry, & gitfiddle, remember me? Well, I'm back! Yahoo! I just found this BB seriously like 5 minutes ago and was so excited to see familiar names. A short catch up on me before I get into my M&S for today.

I had my kidney surgery back in October...had a congenital defect with one of my renal blood vessels...it was crimping the ureter which drains out of the kidney which is why my one kidney was getting larger. Well, I was flat on my back for 2 months recovering from that...it was about a 6-7 inch incision. Well, I gained weight since I wasn't preparing my own LC meals & obviously I wasn't exercising either. It even hurt to take 10 steps. It wasn't until mid-January when I started feeling better so I joined a gym & Shadow, you'd be so proud of me...I started lifting weights. I'm still trying to lose the weight that I gained but at least I'm heading in the right direction! Yahoo!

My M&S today...had a personal trainer today work on aerobic things like elliptical & stairmaster. Then we moved to weight machines and some mat work like laying on a ball while "bench pressing" with dumbbells and some ab work as well as some quads work. It was about an hour long workout and boy, oh, boy are my legs aching today!

I'm so glad to see some familiar faces!

Take care!

Liz

Liz - Silly girl, of course we remember you :D! And now since you were sweet enough to catch us up to date, you can ignore my questions to you on the Challenge thread ;). I am just so happy to see you - you were thought of while you were gone! I had hoped the surgery went well. As for the weights - you are right. I am ecstatic :D!!!! Yup, you're going in the right direction, indeed. Well done :)!!! We'll have you whooped back into shape in no time :p!

Shadow, thank you so much for your kind words. It's so good to be back & I'm so excited that this board is back...and as far as I can see, even better than the one which was hacked. (For example, I like how recipes are broken down into more groups.)

Yeah, I thought you'd be thrilled that I started lifting weights as that was one area which I was definitely lacking. I'm still feeling the effects of yesterday's workout with the personal trainer...my gluts, quads, and pecs, oh my!

And doesn't it feel oh so good, Liz :p? Feeling the effects of your workout is a definite sign that it did the body good ;). Yes, for all your bike riding and everything else, I did think some resistance was in order. And who knows - you may come to love it as much as I do :D! Especially when you start seeing the results and get some definition going. It's an awfully heady experience, IMHO :). And I am so glad you like the new board!

Oh, that's funny! I agree, Meli...

Hello, Liz! Of COURSE I remember you!!! Good timing, girl! Wow, you've been busy! I'm so glad you're here and posting.
