A strong self-image requires a strong support system."
Meditation for women

I hope that as our new home starts filling up with people and conversation, that the support system meets everyone needs. Supporting all the different people and personalities that frequent the doors takes some energy. Some people just read, some people PM, some people write many lines and othes a few. Some people like to journal and others don't. Some like to list their daily menu and count every carb, others are more free but just as conscientious.

Whatever your need and your support system require, don't hesitate to ask about it talk about it listen to it. Don't be shy to start a thread or say this is something that has been bothering me about the program or why do I have to eat Omega 3, I really need more information I don't understand.

A strong self image requires a strong support system and everybody's internal system is vastly different. Talk about your needs and wants and I am betting someone else out there has the same issue or the same problem and support can be quickly gathered.

What about you? What supports do you need?

Very good and thought provoking question....
Right now I don't have anything specific I need, but just knowing that I have a place to come to where everyone is on the same plan, albeit maybe in a different place on that plan, helps. Knowing that whenever I do have an issue or a problem or question, I will get help and encouragment and support. Just knowing that I don't have to explain what plan I am using and why and why it is a good one etc is a relief. Seeing here that there are alot of people who have already met their health goals and have made new ones and have been maintaining for several years successfully is a big help to me. It makes me confident that I will too make it there one day.:)

Ally's right...

It gives us a focus point NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE in our lives...both physically and mentally.

It provides us with a positive experience and great backup when others around us chose to pull us down over our own personal food and lifestyle chioces.

One of the sayings that really bothers me.....so many people say it to me when I say I don't eat....(whatever it is in particular...say wheat)

"you can eat Everything in moderation"

Now I'm sorry but for many of us this is So not the case....

So to be able to come to a group that can understand where I'm at is a blessing.

Ally, you're so right. You can't overestimate the power of seeing someone who has similar struggles overcome them. It gives me hope every time I read about someone who has faced such an obstacle.
