Well, I guess I'll start the list of successes!

I started PP toward the end of January, 2004. At that time, I weighed at LEAST 257, since that's what I weighed when I bought scales that week. I was ALWAYS out of breath, had a hard time seeing, let alone tying, my shoes, and I was buying bigger and bigger clothes. I was already struggling to get my 42" waist slacks fastened. It was time to do something. I have no idea what my blood numbers were at that time, but they actually were probably ok...I've been blessed with good blood, I guess!

I had done PP a few years earlier and had easily lost about 35 pounds...then promptly regained it plus some.

Over the course of 2004, I steadily saw my weight melt away and my well-being return. In February of 2005, I hit my goal weight of 180. I have since gotten lax and have regained about 10 (I actually had regained a total of 20 right after Thanksgiving, but have dropped half of that). If I ever get my exercise regimen back on track, I'll drop that other 10, too.

My family has a long history of heart and cancer problems, so I have lots of reasons to watch what goes into my body...oh, that and the 7 little blessings that I and MamaT have...what better reason to be healthy? I can't WAIT for grandkids!!!:D

EDIT: I've added a link to my "fat" picture...I don't even recognize myself! My Fat Picture (http://forum.lowcarber.org/gallery/showimage.php?i=9231&catid=member&imageuser=64276) (this is on the forum.lowcarber.org website...you may have to register/login to see it...but it's a great site to visit if you've never been there...)

Aw shucks! I was going to post the first message in here, but just couldn't get up the impetus to write it! :D

Congrats on keeping it going, Aaron. 10 pounds isn't that much, as long as you don't let it become more! ;)

Let's see...7 kids...if they each have 7 kids...and they each have 7 kids...and they each have 7 kids...that's about 500,000 by that point...hmmm...it could happen in about 4 or 5 generations!

Do you have to complete the full login to view the pic? Including the weight and everything? :-(

Aaron -- congrats! I've had a similar experience -- in was back in 2000. Since then I really have been lax -- and I've gained it all back. This is my first couple of days "back on the wagon" But I'm already feeling more energetic then I have in a long time. Keep up the good work and remember it's a lifestyle. That is something that is easy to forget -- at least it was for me.

What an inspiration to all that read!

Yay, Aaron! I'm glad to see that you're still around and doing good. :) I'm where bigdawg is right now. Lost my Dad in November and jumped off the wagon with both feet, but good. I'm tired of my clothes being tight, etc. so I'm giving it another try. Seems to me that Mama T was still expecting the last time I was around, so belated congratulations on that 7th addition. :)
