Who's out "using it" today? I did my weekly Slow Burn session.

Today is a rest day for me. I did get in the other half of my upper body workout last night, and I'm "feeling the burn" today. In addition to the upper body, I was trying to really concentrate on "sucking in" my abs during the exercises, and my midsection is also complaining today, so I guess I got a pretty good core workout as well! :p

Hey Lynn, I tried the shoulder stretches you recommended. They're very similar to some stretches in an old aerobic video I used to use, which reminded me of some of the other stretches in that video. I think they've helped, so I'm going to keep doing them. (That's one of the things I liked about that video - it really helped with flexibility. Unfortunately, it was never available on DVD and our VHS machine died. I really need to find another stretch video that I can enjoy that's available on DVD.)

Today was back, biceps, shoulders :).

Mary - Have you ever looked at Collage Videos? They have quite a choice of workouts - including stretch. Their website also has 30 second previews on (I think) all of the workouts they carry.

I'll have to look into that Shadow. I do have a "video" catalog that I get every once in a while, but I just haven't gotten around to going through it yet. It seems there are so many choices and it's hard to know which ones are good. I really wish that other video was available on DVD. It was geared toward older people, so the aerobic part wasn't too much for me with my asthma, and it really concentrated on slow careful stretching. I'll find something eventually - I'm thinking I might hit the rental store first to try some things out and find one I like... if I ever find the time to visit ;)

And I'm feeling accomplished today. Once again, I ended up with aerobics on my rest day. DH was picking me up at the corner a block away to go to lunch, and he was late. Instead of just standing there, I started doing laps in the circular sidewalk in front of one of the buildings and ended up doing 9 laps for a total of 15 minutes of brisk walking! :D

Oh Mary - that's awesome on the walking :D!!!! I would imagine the catalogue you get would be from Collage - but if not, they are a good provider and there is a 30-day return policy which is mostly unheard of when it comes to dvds ;). A lot of older videos are now available on dvd - I don't know which video you're wanting to replace but there is a remote chance that it is now available on dvd. Other than my favorite instructor (whose workouts I know I'm going to love), I buy everything through Collage for the return policy. As for the video store, that's a great idea! Nothing is more discouraging than to look forward to getting a workout to find you don't like it !

Today was upper body and abs with 30 minutes of cardio. I have a sore throat today. Probably the weather change and my asthma kicking in.
I may take it easy tomorrow.

I just dug the catalog out of my pile, and you're right, it is Collage. The older video I loved was a Jane Fonda, and some of her stuff is available on DVD now, but not this one. She's had so many that they've apparently only chosen her best selling ones to offer in DVD format.

I didn't know Collage had that policy. That makes it a lot easier to try out a video! Thanks for pointing that out.:)

Mary - They don't advertise the fact, but they do have the policy ;). I think the only place you'll see it referred to is on the order form in the catalogue and I think they might send a little card in their shipments :). They used to have a list in every catalogue of workouts they carried that weren't shown in the catalogue but now that they have the website, they don't do that. I see they have 5 of JF's workouts on line that aren't in the catalogue.
