Janet - I don't think so! Sorry, my dear, but March is Billie's challenge - so she is in charge :p . I've only been trying to help her because she thinks she deserves to go away every weekend ;) . Plus, I did take a little pity because she was sick for a while...

Oops, sorry :o. Well, whoever's doing it, gathering all those numbers that are scattered around cyberspace is going to be a fun job.

Just following examples and a fear of the whip. ;)
I feel that I short change myself if I don't get some form of DOMS at least twice a week now. It's amazing but I used to dread it and now try to find a new way to work something every couple of weeks.
The snow on the streets is almost gone here and I would like to follow some of the examples here and the old PPWOL on running twice a week.

Ya know, Liz, it sounds to me as if you've recovered just fine :D! But looking at all that exercise, you may want to branch out and go hit the BTBF forum ;). I would say you're definitely beyond the recovery/beginner level :p!

Shadow, you think I'd be a candidate for the BTBF? (I had to look that term up...see what happens when you're absent from the board for a while? ;) ) Anyway, thank you, I'm flattered. I've never really thought of myself that way. I guess I still think of myself as a beginner...especially since I'm just beginning to learn about resistance training.
Yeah, I'm recovering pretty well. I mainly do low impact things like the elliptical and walking on the treadmill. I tried running on the treadmill when I was at the gym and that only aggravated my incision area. So, if it hurts, you should stop, right? Remember when I was running this summer? Well, I guess I'll try running again in a month or two.
See, Shadow, you got me thinking & encouraged! Hmmm, I could probably learn a lot from you seasoned BTBFers. These are some of the many reasons why I missed you and everyone else on the board. Thank you.

Liz - Yes, I do think you're a candidate for the BTBF forum :)! Sorry about using the acronym - I always think because I know what I'm referring to, everyone else should know too :p. However, since you are still not back to 100% you may well be more comfortable staying here for now, which is fine too. I know you'll have the weights conquered in no time!

I know the incision area will take a while to lose its sensitivity, but it will eventually not be so problematic for you. I know it's probably feeling like forever, but it hasn't really been that long ;).
So, if it hurts, you should stop, right?
Absolutely!!! I am so proud of you!
Remember when I was running this summer? Well, I guess I'll try running again in a month or two.
Oh yes...I know you like that stuff (although I'll never get it, lol). Not to worry - you'll be pounding that pavement in no time!
See, Shadow, you got me thinking & encouraged!
Oh goody!!! It brightens my day to hear that :D!

Oh no - thank you for being here! Yes, there is a lot of good information on the BTBF forum and I am sure there will be a lot more to come.
Believe me, you were missed in your absence so it goes both ways!

Shadow, well, I'm the newbie (once again) so no apology is necessary. ;)

Shadow, it's so weird, when I had spoken to my urologist (the MD who did my kidney surgery), I explained that not only is that area hypersensitive but it's also numb from where the incision is (near the bottom of my right rib) to my belly button. She explained that they had to cut nerves to get to my kidney & that the sensation should come back...but nerves only grow 1 inch per year.
Believe me, you were missed in your absence so it goes both ways!
Thank you, that's nice to hear.
