I'll bet you don't like Devin Hester much right about now.

Hi Ryan--

Right you are. But, he could be working for me next week, so who knows. If he is, he'll probably get smashed at the goal line and cough it up.

Cheers--

I'm the opposite--I cheer for my players and tend to ignore my opponents. My husband and I went to the recent Steelers/Ravens game in Baltimore and although I was dressed from head to toe in Steelers swag I couldn't prevent a cry of joy when Steve McNair threw a TD pass to Todd Heap since Heap is on my fantasy team. My husband almost hurt himself laughing.

Do you do the suicide pools or just straight bets?

Hi Patricia--

Straight bets only. I've got a Franklin on the Rams +6 right now, and, at this point, the score is Bears 14/Rams 13, so I'm covering.. Go St. Louis!

Cheers--

Mike
I've been slacking lately -- Wednesday was my last visit to your blog and boy did I have some catching up to do today when I clicked on Michael R. Eades, M.D. It was all good reading, sure was, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you take your responsibility for my education so doggone seriously. Let me tell you, it's an impressive scene in the construction grub room when (after cleverly steering the conversation toward an Eadesian lesson) I'm able to hold forth, my salami & baby swiss wraps in hand, about how the lipid hypothesis is a snow job that shouldn't be swallowed as gospel.
Thanks again Dr Mike, and by the way, the Heisman quote is a good one -- had me laughing out loud and I can't wait to use it manana when football somehow finds its way into the lunch-time conversation.

Hello James--

Glad you enjoyed it. Knowing me as you do, you probably realize that I use wax a little beyond the
Heisman quote when my players aren't performing up to their abilities. You know how I hate slackers.
Cheers--

Ha--I read this and thought to myself how awesome it would be if you guys played fantasy football. Being of Scots descent and therefore cheap, fantasy seems to satisfy my gambling jones even though I had an awful season this year (grumbles about Shaun Alexander getting hurt).

Hi Patricia--

I do not play fantasy football--in fact, I hate it. Our two eldest sons are eaten up with fantasy football; both are in multiple leagues. It has made it miserable to watch games with them because they don't root for teams. Someone on the team I have money bet on will be streaking down the field for the end zone and the kids are screaming: Noooooo, he's playing against me.

Cheers--
