Diabetes breakthrough:
Toronto scientists cure disease in mice
Hi Blaise–
I read this article this morning; I haven’t had a chance yet to pull the Cell article to see what it really says. I have an innate distrust of media reports of medical findings.
Thanks–

There may be some substance in this research. Although they are key factors, it is simplistic to think that diabetes is limited to functional abnormalities of the pancreas, liver and muscle. Recent research is suggesting that not only is diabetes much more complex than was previously assumed but that it can also be highly individualized in the way it manifests itself. It would be good to hear your thoughts on the following.

I agree that diabetes is a disease of multifactorial causes. The idea that bone is an endocrine organ is intriguing, but needs to be borne out by more thab a single study.
