Zevon’s work is full of great lines. And I would think you would expecially like “My &%X’s *&#*ed Up.” I could go on forever.

Right now I’m listening to his “Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School.” You want bittersweet romance? You’ve got “Empty-Handed Heart” (“and I’ve thrown down diamonds/in the sand”). Humor? “Gorrilla, You’re a Desperado” (“he bought a house on an acre of land/called it `Villa Gorilla’/Now I hear he’s getting divorced/Layin’ low at L’Hermitage, of course!”). Commentary? “Bill Lee” (“You’ve got to sit on your ass and nod at stupid things/Man, that’s hard to do”). A great rocker? “Wild Age.” (“You’ve seen him leaning on the streetlight/Listening to some song inside”).

Take another listen — I don’t think you’ll be sorry.

You’re right; those are all great lines.  Especially “A little old lady got mutilated late last night.”  Great alliteration.
