Dr. Doctor Eades,

It is too bad I didn't see this entry earlier so I could straighten out the truth about your mythical victories on the golf course. Were you playing ANOTHER Dan Parker? The one I know humbles your sorry gluteus maximus like Tiger against my grandmother (who has been dead for some seventy years).
Maybe you were thinking of Diane Parker, the 86 year old one-eyed spinster who runs the snack shop. I think, on a rare good day, you could probably take her in a closely fought shootout of bogies, others and X's, but I think my money would be on her.
Enjoy your fantasies until the next time I am in the middle of the fairway while you tee up your third provisional.
Love,
The Real Dan Parker
Rented Mules, Inc.

This is my way of learning if and when you really read my blog that you profess to read regularly.

That is so cool :)
I love jacob dylan too... what a great night that must have been for MD

She certainly did enjoy it. Almost as much as I enjoyed sitting home by myself catching up on my reading.

Your wife, MD, is very pretty! :-) First time, I've seen a close-up pic of her.

Not bad for a grandmother, eh? I made a good selection.

You should be able to embed images anywhere you like in a post by putting the link to the image URL inside the img tag as so:

which I copied from the source code for this page (to see the source code click the View Source or View Page Source on your browser's menu, depending on the browser). No idea if html renders in comments, or is displayed as text. If it renders, then do the view source (on this page or any page with an image) to see an example of the syntax.

On the other hand Wordpress may strip the html tags out of this comment, in which case the img tag will be gone and what I'm saying will make no sense. Anyway, doesn't the Wordpress post editor have a WSYWYG html editing mode? I don't currently have a blog but I played with it a little bit a while ago and IIRC in html mode it has tools to embed links and images.

Not expecting you to post this comment if you don't want to, it's just fyi.

Hi Lark--

Couldn't figure out what this comment meant for a while, then went back and reread the post. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to get at. I didn't mean I didn't have the know-how to deal with the photos, as in how to insert them into a post; I meant that there are pictures that I've often wanted to post, but there was no connection between the photos and a blog I wanted to do, so the pictures wouldn't have made sense with the blog. I've solved the problem by creating a new category called: The story behind the pictures. With this category I can now indulge myself and put up whatever photos I want with a blog post to go along with them.

I do have a problem, though. The latest upgrades of WordPress don't allow textwrap without changing the default program. When I go to the help screen, I am met with a bunch of technical lingo that I don't have the patience to wade through. If anyone knows how to do this and can explain it in plain English, I'd love to hear about it.

Cheers--

Oi can you perhaps solve a question.

Is the smoking grass on the White House roof an urban myth about Willie or does yr mate know if there's at least a modicum of truth please ?

Just checked with him this afternoon on the golf course after once more beating him like a rented mule. He says he thinks the rumor is true. He wasn't there, but has heard it from enough people in the business that he respects to make him believe the probability is pretty high.

Nope, it was before the concert. Or so she tells me.

Well, being a reformed Hank Williams Sr. fan, I'm sure you'd not want to have anything to do with that newfangled long-haired country stuff! ;-)

I agree with you about concerts. Willie's are the only ones worth going to. I stood on the front row at a club show in NYC where he played for hours (no seats, standing only, your fav). We actually had to leave, Willie outlasted us. He is an amazing performer and shows great respect for the audience, playing all of his hits with the same passion he probably had the day he wrote them.

Thanks for sharing your story. Perhaps we can enlist Dan's help in some huge global Concert for Low-Carb. :-O
